The aim of this paper is first to determine the state of stress of welded joint repaired by steel sleeve and epoxy composition. Experimental measurements are performed on samples to determine required material properties. The structural analysis by finite element method (FEM) is performed for a pressurized pipe with insufficiently welded root and installed cold sleeve. Simulated is the case of depressurized pipes that could cause a breach of cohesion between filling material and surface of pipe or sleeve with usage of cohesive finite elements. In the end the sleeve dimensions are optimized with respect to maximum integrity to the repaired sleeve.

Concrete crushing of the municipal engineering by traditional broken tools has flaws of inefficient, high dust pollution, high noise, high labor intensity. Hydraulic crushing equipment with ultra-high pressure water jet is designed, which includes the ultra-high pressure five-plunger pump unit and its control system. Engineering applications show the equipment owns characteristics of high efficient, cold state, security, and cannot produce stratified thermal aggregation, heat-affected zone in concrete and dust pollution. Then qualities of concrete hydraulic crusher in a complex environment are improved effectively. It provides an effective method to solve the problems of concrete hydraulic crushing.

The article presents a power analysis of the connecting rod-crosshead mechanism of the TWS 600 type plunger pump. A method has been developed for determining the reactions of the crank shaft supports of a high-pressure plunger pump, which allows to identify the most loaded places and perform strength calculations of the crank shaft and the drive part housing for any position of the crank. Keywords. Plunger pump, drive part housing, drive part, power analysis, strength analysis

This chapter proposes an alternative system for conventional reverse osmosis (RO) and electrodialysis (ED) desalination plants by incorporating the use of gravitational potential energy (GPE). The proposed system is devised with two subsystems, the RO module followed by the ED module, both simultaneously powered by GPE. This kind of energy is obtained by storing the brackish water to be desalinated. The system’s primary source of energy is wind. Windmills harness the wind energy to pump water to a reservoir located at a certain height (<20 m). The stored water has the GPE that will make a special plunger pump work. The piston of this special plunger pump is designed so that high pressure (about 15 bar) can be achieved in a different way from conventional RO plants. In the alternative system, here proposed, to pump water to the RO membranes, the special pistons go downward due to their own weight and are lifted, through a system of pulleys, with a counterweight filled with water obtained from the reservoir. The technical viability of the alternatives was theoretically proven by deductions based on physics and mathematics and with a special plunger pump prototype that worked successfully.

For steel wire wound reinforced high-pressure hose, the static load test under internal pressure and fatigue test under combined effect of internal pressure and periodic transverse load were carried out. Test results show that water seepage or leakage on the pressing steel sleeve or on hose body itself, and bulging on hose itself near steel joint would lead to performance failure, which can be regarded as the performance failure criterion for steel wire wound reinforced high-pressure hose.

Due to the corrosion of liquid and dual role of job stress, the pump housing of the LH45 type three cylinder high pressure plunger pump was caused the breakage in the practical work, and its service life was greatly reduced. Studied the pump housing broken state and laws to selected material to manufacture. Established 3D entity of the pump housing model in the 3D CAD software so that the stress and strain state of remade shell can be analyzed using finite element software ANSYS. Compared with the state of stress and strain before shell remaking, the pump housing remaking is proved to be valid.
