A field experiment was conducted at Bangladesh Jute Research Institute (BJRI) to observe the response of N, P, K and S on a pre?released white jute (Corchorus capsularis) var. BJC?2197. The experiment was carried out by applying N, P, K, S fertilizers in ten combinations including control. From the experiment it was observed that all the treatments had significant positive effect over control on growth, yield and quality parameters. The highest fiber yield (3.21 t/ha) and stick yield (6.58 t/ha) were recorded with N90P5K30S10 kg/ha treatment. However, the best quality fiber was found with combination of N90P15K30S10 kg/ha treatment. From the economic analysis point of view, it was found that combination of N90P5K30S10 kg/ha was higher (2.30) than N90P15K30S10 kg/ha (2.04). So the former can be considered as the best combination for var. BJC?2197 in terms of BCR, yield and quality. Dhaka Univ. J. Biol. Changes in growth, yield, and fruit quality of citrus in a factorial field experiment are presented. Nitrogen fertilization in the sod treatment had only limited effects on yield. After the application of superphosphate, yields at the higher nitrogen levels increased markedly. The initially superior yields from the bare surface treatment decreased gradually, and became at the highest nitrogen level even lower than in the tilled treatments. After application of superphosphate, yields improved in the plots receiving ample nitrogen and became even higher than in the tilled treatments. Yields in the tilled treatments remained good, and were not influenced by nitrogen fertilization. Fruit quality in the no-tillage treatments improved considerably after the application of superphosphate. Increasing nitrogen supply, however, had a depressing effect on fruit quality in all cultural treatment's, but within each nitrogen level the fruit was of similar quality. Nitrogen and phosphorus contents of leaves sampled in 1954 and 1957 are compared, and the changes in yield and quality that occurred during that period are discussed in relation to the modified phosphorus supply in the experiment.

Among genotypes, Dekalb 900 M Gold recorded significantly higher dry matter/plant, LAI, cobs placement height, grain yield, nitrogen content, protein content, protein yield and protein productivity than other genotypes. Leaves/plant and phytosynthetically active radiation (PAR) above canopy did not influenced by genotypes. Dry matter/plant, plant height, LAI, cobs placement height, protein content, protein yield and protein productivity exhibited higher under highest levels of nitrogen (160 kg N/ha), but at par with 120 kg N/ha. However, grain yield (6300 kg/ha) was highest under nitrogen levels of 120 kg/ha, but also at par with 160 kg N/ha (6240 kg/ha). The effect of applied nitrogen was found non-significant in respect of leaves/plant, PAR above and below canopy, photosynthetically active radiation interception and days taken to tasseling and silking. The experimental layout was designed in completely randomized complete block with 4 replicates in the combination of nitrogen levels of 28,8; 60; 90; 120 kg/ha with potassium of 0 and 30 kg/ha in order to investigate the effects of fertilization on growth, yield and quality of bon bon (Cattail) in Ca Mau province. At 90days after planting, treatments with higher levels of nitrogen application increased in plant height, tiller number, weight of edible part, fresh and dry biomass. Variations in nitrogen and potassium levels caused no change in photosynthetic pigments but chlorophyll a content was always about more than triple more than that of chlorophyll b. Potassium contributed to enhancinge plant height, biomass, edible part weight but difference in tiller number was not found between the two levels. Higher levels of nitrogen in combination with potassium not only enhanced biomass yield but also improved quality by increasing levels of soluble sugars and protein in the edible part. The interactions between nitrogen and potassium levels were recognizedpositively affected on growth, yield, and quality of cattail; therefore, it is highly recommended to apply both these nutrients when growing this crop.

The results of studies on the impact of industrial technology of potato cultivation on growth, yield and quality of products. There was a positive response of plants to fertilizer K2SO4 in the period of planting. Correlation and regression analysis of yield and quality of tubers revealed a high degree of reliability of the results of experience. The contents of nitrates and heavy metals in tubers was below the permissible values.
