Background and Purpose: Poststroke aphasia has a major impact on peoples’ quality of life. Speech and language therapy interventions work, especially in high doses, but these doses are rarely achieved outside of research studies. Intensive Comprehensive Aphasia Programs (ICAPs) are an option to deliver high doses of therapy to people with aphasia over a short period of time. Methods: Forty-six people with aphasia in the chronic stage poststroke completed the ICAP over a 3-week period, attending for 15 days and averaging 6 hours of therapy per day. Outcome measures included the Comprehensive Aphasia Test, an impairment-based test of the 4 main domains of language (speaking, writing, auditory comprehension, and reading) which was measured at 3 time points (baseline, immediately posttreatment at 3 weeks and follow-up at 12-week post-ICAP); and, the Communicative Effectiveness Index, a carer-reported measure of functional communication skills collected at baseline and 12 weeks. Results: A 2-way repeated measures multivariate ANOVA was conducted. We found a significant domain-by-time interaction, F =12.7, P <0.0005, indicating that the ICAP improved people with aphasia’s language scores across all 4 domains, with the largest gains in speaking (Cohen’s d =1.3). All gains were maintained or significantly improved further at 12-week post-ICAP. Importantly, patients’ functional communication, as indexed by changes on the Communicative Effectiveness Index, also significantly improved at 12-week post-ICAP, t =5.4, P <0.0005, also with a large effect size (Cohen’s d =0.9). Conclusions: People with aphasia who participated in the Queen Square ICAP made large and clinically meaningful gains on both impairment-based and functional measures of language. Gains were sustained and in some cases improved further over the subsequent 12 weeks.

One of the potential dry land food plants developed in Indonesia is sorghum. Sorghum is a kind of grass crop and is still a family with rice, corn and wheat. The carbohydrate content in the seeds is quite high, so it can be consumed as staple food, along with the development of many innovations that are done to make this plant to be better known and in the community's favor, one of the processed sorghum is Flakes, Sorghum Flakes is a processed food based on sorghum with the addition of beetroot root, sugar, salt and water. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of sorghum flour (30 gr, 60 gr, 90 gr) and beetroot flour (5 gr, 10gr, 15 gr) to the characteristics of Flakes, Organoleptic parameters were analyzed statistically using the Fridmen test while to find out the best treatment in the test Organoleptic tests were carried out on the effectiveness index test, the experimental design used the Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with 2 factors and 3 repetitions. The best treatment is determined by the effectiveness index test with the calculation results show the best treatment is on S2B2 with a formulation of 60gr sorghum flour and 10gr beetroot flour

This research aims to develop the environmental recreation camp activity for youth in Roi-Et province of Thailand, to compare environmental knowledge, environmental attitudes before and after participating in the camp, as will as their participating in Environment Recreation camp activities during and after participating in the camp of youths with different gender and domicile, and to study the relationship between environmental knowledge, environmental attitudes and participation in environmental recreation camp activities. The data were collected though a survey with 40 youths from Phanom Phrai Wittayakarn School, Phanom Phrai District, Roi-Et Province. The research instruments was the manuals questionnaire measuring environmental knowledge, environmental attitudes and participation in environmental recreation camp activity. The data were analysed by using descriptive statistic and hypothesis testing by using t-test, One-way MANCOVA, One-way ANOVA and Correlation analysis. The results of this research indicated as below Environment Recreation Camp Activities for Youth in Roi-Et Province had effectively is 85.17/83.44 and an effectiveness index is 0.6117. After participating in environment recreation camp activities, youths had higher environmental knowledge and environmental attitudes than before participating in the camp. After participating in environment recreation camp activities, youth had higher participation in environment recreation camp activities than during participating in camp. The sample youths with different gender and domicile had no different environmental knowledge, environmental attitudes, and environmental participation. Environmental knowledge, environmental attitudes, and participation in environmental recreation camp activities were not correlated.

Approximation of the index for assessing ship sea-keeping performance on the basis of ship design parameters This paper presents a new approach which makes it possible to take into account seakeeping qualities of ship in the preliminary stage of its design. The presented concept is based on representing ship's behaviour in waves by means of the so called operational effectiveness index. Presented values of the index were calculated for a broad range of design parameters. On this basis were elaborated analytical functions which approximate the index depending on ship design parameters. Also, example approximations of the index calculated by using artificial neural networks, are attached. The presented approach may find application to ship preliminary design problems as well as in ship service stage to assess sea-keeping performance of a ship before its departure to sea.
