There is a specific way of approaching sustainable development issues in S. Kozłowski’s works. He takes into account a wide spectrum of problems from political, social, economic ones to moral and ethical with reference to the natural environment (ecodevelopment). Frequently, he refers to systemic approaches e.g. researches on harmonized development pointing out the need for using such a perspective. In the researches on sustainable development, there are models including social, technical, and ecological systems. The models take into account a human factor, environment, techniques as well as energy and information. As there is a need for including long term actions related to environmental protection as well as economic mechanisms to carry out sustainable development plans, a new tool emerged called ecological control. Professor Stefan Kozłowski’s approach towards sustainable development including relations between a human and nature accentuates the meaning of quality and the need for natural environmental protection in a process of civilization development of a global society. In his works “eco-development” is used interchangeably with “sustainable development”. Therefore according to S. Kozłowski, the idea of sustainable development cannot be realized in isolation from ecological issues.

Sustainable development is critical to ensure the future of humanity. Therefore, the assessment and governance of sustainability becomes a central challenge our society is facing. This paper provides a novel ICT framework for addressing sustainable development goals. It is characterized by both local and global considerations, in the context of economic, ecological, and social aspects of sustainable development. The framework consists of three modules: data module, sustainability module, and governance module. Data module integrates data from several sources, processes data, infers knowledge, and transforms data into understandable information and knowledge. The second module implements SDGs at the level of municipality/city, ensures ranking of locally transformed SDGs to arrange them in line with the values and needs of the local communities, and proposes an integrated approach in modeling the social-ecological systems. By implementing governance theories, the governance module permits an effective citizen engagement in governance of SDGs. The ICT framework addresses short-term and long-term SDGs and allows for the vertical and horizontal linkages among diverse stakeholders, as well as for their contributions to the nested rule structures employed at operational, collective, and constitutional levels. Thus, the framework we provide here ensures a paradigm shift in approaching SDGs for the advancement of our society.

Sustainable development is a very popular conception since many years. In practice there could be many difficulties.Economic, social and ecological systems are too complex to see all the consequences clearly. After all, sustainable criteria are indispensable for responsible planning.Tourism is one of the world’s dynamically developing economic sectors. But according to this development, we have to confront with a lot of negative effects, like air pollution, or mass. With globalization, the opportunities for tourism increase: thanks to modern transport, places which were too far to be accessible before are now able to be reached. But there are consequences to this expansion. Unfortunately, growth e.g. in air transport causes considerable environmental damage. In today’s fast-paced world, the sanctity of nature, a soundproof environment, clean air and rural life have become increasingly important. With the growth of demand and tourism globalized, these values can damage or disappear in a short time.  So, in tourism, it is vital to project development plans with sustainable principles.Just as other countries, in Hungary, the development of sustainable tourism is slowly becoming a priority. Fortunately, in plans for the next few years, there appear more concrete ideas on ways to make sustainable tourism grow.In my study, I assess Hungary’s position in sustainable tourism, examining how sustainable tourism indicators fit in sustainable development indicators and how can we measure aims of sustainable tourism.

The concept of sustainable development is an important topic in the global concept of the world. It is understood as the unification of social, economic, environmental and institutional development of society. A complicated complex of relationships is formed. The contribution is devoted to selected indicators monitored in Slovakia in the framework of sustainability dealing with the issue of connection and evaluation of environmental protection and exploitation and use of energy raw materials. An important factor is also the reduction of energy consumption, given the decreasing reserves of energy raw materials in Slovakia.

Sustainability is a concept for achieving integration and balance in development, in order to preserve and use resources properly, by providing new solutions to overcome structural, social and economic misconceptions to prevent further degradation and waste of natural resources, and to create a better future for human societies. Sustainable development can be defined as a strategy for the correct use of resources, by modifying and redefining consumption patterns and avoiding one-sided development approaches. Therefore, sustainable development is defined as a long-term and unlimited solution for aligning different concepts (social, economic and environmental), seemingly independent but related and influencing each other. This paper examines the challenges and capacities of the Oman Maritime Community and the role of Maritime Energy Management in terms of sustainable development. To analyze this issue, the role of key players in Oman's maritime industry, such as the Oman Fisheries Company and the Oman Shipping Company, has been studied in relation to the five main indicators of sustainable development goals, including people, the planet, peace, welfare and partnership.
