Temperature Field Analysis and Cooling Structure Design of Ironless Permanent Magnet Synchronous Linear Motor

Objective: Ironless, permanent magnet, synchronous linear (IPMSL) motors are applied widely in precision servo control for the nonexistence of cogging forces and comparatively small fluctuations in thrust and speed. Method: The air and water cooling structures are designed by assuming the heat loss in the motor operations is the source for the distribution of the temperature field in the analysis under natural cooling. Conclusion: The temperature fields of the linear motor under the two cooling modes are compared and analyzed, which helps monitor the temperature of linear motors during development and operations.

The cooling stave longevity is the most important factor to affect the blast furnace life. In this paper the cooling stave model was built by use of software ANSYS. With boundary conditions of heat transfer of cooling stave fully taken into account, temperature fields of cooling stave made of different materials are analyzed. The analysis results showed the relationship between the different cooling stave materials and temperature field distribution of stave body. A general method of selecting cooling stave material and structure design for longevity design of cooling stave was developed.

Power rectifiers are very necessary in the wind power generation systems since they are the necessary channels that link the generator and power gird together. However, they have some effects on the permanent magnet wind generator due to their work on fast on-off transitions. Taking an 8kW 2000r/min wind-driven permanent magnet generator as an example, the system model and external circuit were established. Firstly, based on the field-circuit coupling calculation method, the voltage and current harmonics have been studied respectively when the generator was connected to rectifier loads and pure resistance loads, so did the total harmonic distortion. The mechanism of harmonic impacted by rectifiers was revealed. Secondly, combined the harmonic electromagnetic field theory, the stator core loss, armature winding copper loss and rotor eddy loss were analyzed when the generator connected different loads. Furthermore, according to the definition of nonlinear circuits PF, the numerical analysis method was adopted to calculate the power factor when the generator connected two loads respectively. The change mechanism of PF impacted by rectifiers has been revealed. In addition, the temperature field model has been established and the generator temperature was also analyzed. The temperature distributions were obtained when the wind generator was connected to different loads. Then, the relationship between losses and temperature was combined, the change rules of permanent magnet temperature by the eddy current loss were studied under different load. At last, it can prove that the rectifiers have influences on both electromagnetic field and temperature field through comparing the simulation results with experimental test data.

In the present paper the onset of plastic strain localization was determined using two independent methods based on strain and temperature field analysis. The strain field was obtained from markers displacement recorded using visible light camera. In the same time, on the other side of the specimen, the temperature field was determined by means of infrared camera. The objective of this work was to specify the conditions when the non-uniform temperature distribution can be properly used as the indicator of plastic strain localization. In order to attain the objective an analysis of strain and temperature fields for different deformation rates were performed. It has been shown, that for given experimental conditions, the displacement rate 2000 mm/min is a threshold, above which the non-uniform temperature distribution can be used as the indicator of plastic strain localization.

In order to achieve the localization of the large-scale sodium gate valve in fast reactor nuclear power station, this paper use fluid software FLUEN, using two different methods, analysis temperature field of sodium gate valve freezing sealing structure of CEFR. The first method is to establish air model; the second method is to making use of experimental relation to calculate surface coefficient of heat transfer to simulate temperature field of freezing sealing structure of sodium gate valve in CEFR. Compared with measuring results on-site, simulation results of the first method have error within 10%. Therefore, it is feasible that simulating temperature field of freezing sealing structure with this method. That will promote structure design of freezing sealing of sodium gate valve for large fast rector power plant.

The direct drive reversing valve is designed in this paper to replace the main reversing valve of the hydraulic die forging hammer system, and a new drive method based on TPMLM (tubular permanent magnet linear motor) is suggested. To verify the feasibility of the drive method, the fluid force suffered by valve core is calculated by using control volume method. After that, force analysis is carried out on the valve core. Based on FLUENT, the flow field analysis inside the valve is conducted. And then theoretical calculation and simulation on the fluid force analysis are discussed. TPMLM (tubular permanent magnet linear motor) is selected as the driving device and it is analyzed by Maxwell 2D. The simulation results of TPMLM show that the magnetic flux density, back electromotive force and output force satisfy the requirement of the reversing valve.
