This study investigates the English as Foreign Language (EFL) students' perception and motivation toward Quizizz as e-learning media in English e-classroom. The total number of participants in this study is 106 students of 11th graders of Senior High School consist of five classes who had experience toward Quizizz. A descriptive statistics approach is applied in this study. The data collected by using closed-ended questionnaire. The obtained data were analyzed by using SPSS version 25.00. The result shows most of EFL students had positive perception and motivation toward Quizizz. Therefore, Quizizz as e-learning media can support the learning process in English e-classroom. It indicates that Quizizz is an appropriate e-learning media that can be used in English e-classroom and it can increase EFL students’ motivation during e-learning.

Asynchronous e-learning is receiving growing attention because it encompasses learner-oriented approach which emphasizes on the development of learners' knowledge and skills. Henceforth it is imperative to explore students’ experience on asynchronous e-learning. This study aims to delineate the experience of senior high school students in learning English through asynchronous e-learning. This is a qualitative descriptive study in nature and the data collected were analysed using thematic analysis by incorporating interpretive description approach. The participants of study were senior high school students from Lemahwungkuk sub-district, Cirebon, Indonesia. The results revealed that in undergoing asynchronous e-learning, the participants have to implement self-access learning and additionally they have to adapt with technology setting which may appear to be challenging due to limited technical support they have; moreover they still have to discover the knowledge by themselves inasmuch as they experience limited interaction with their English teachers throughout the process of learning.

The purpose of tis study was to investigate English as Foreign Language (EFL) students’ achievement in writing skill (descriptive text) through Think Pair Share method. Therefore, the action research design was implemented to match with the purpose of the study. The techniques of collecting the data were writing test, observation, questionnaire, and interview. The result of the study shows that the students’ achievement sustainably improved from the first evaluation, which was 66,4375 to second evaluation, which was 78,125 and to the third evaluation, which was 87,5625. The score continuously improved from the first evaluation to the third evaluation. Observation result shows that the students gave their good attitudes and responses during teaching and learning process by applying the application of TPS (Think Pair Share) method. Questionnaire and interview report shows that students agreed that the application of TPS (Think Pair Share) method had helped them in writing descriptive text. In conclusion, the application of TPS method significantly improved students’ achievement in writing descriptive text.

This research aims to analyze motivational strategies in teaching English as foreign language at 7th grade of Junior High School 7 Kuningan and to analyze students‟ attitudes towards motivational strategies that were applied by teachers in teaching EFL. The researchers used qualitative research by using classroom observation, interview, and questionnaires. The result taken from classroom observation and interview show teacher 1 and teacher 3 applied motivational strategies completely based on the phases of motivational strategies. Thus, the students responded these strategies positively. On the other hand, teacher 2 applied motivational strategies incompletely because the teacher missed the first phases. This was responded negatively by students. Therefore, the students were actively involved in teaching and learning process conducted by teacher 1 and teacher 2, but the students were passively involved in teaching and learning process conducted by teacher 2. Furthermore, the result taken from questionnaires shows that students gave positive attitudes towards the teacher 1 (88.25%), teacher 2 (79.02%), and teacher 3 (85.71%). Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the way the teachers applied motivational strategies in teaching EFL determined students‟ attitudes towards motivational strategies applied by teachers in teaching EFL.Keywords: motivational strategies, phases of motivational strategies, students attitudes, teaching EFL

In order to design an effective e-learning environment, the present study investigated English as Foreign Language (EFL) students’ perceptions of the use of Moodle as a course management system in a Foundations of Education (FOE) course at the College of Education. The study also aimed at exploring statistically significant differences between student teachers’ perceptions that can be attributed to gender, residence, year in the program, computer skills, and GPA variables. Data were collected from a sample of 60 students using a questionnaire. Findings showed that using Moodle increases students’ participation in learning, exchanging ideas and knowledge (μ = 4.37). Over half the total number of students preferred to use chat rooms and forums in computer labs to formal lecture rooms. Findings also showed that there are statistically significant differences between student responses related to year in the program in favor of students in their third and fourth year. With regard to obstacles facing students, the findings showed that most of these obstacles revolve around technical issues and frequent computer errors. Based on these findings, several recommendations were made.

This paper reports the competence of the English Foreign Language (EFL) Senior High School (SHS) teachers in Papua, Indonesia which sought to investigate the EFL SHS teachers’ perception towards their own competence. This cross-sectional survey research design applied multistage sampling technique in determining the sample of the study. There were 159 EFL SHS teachers from six selected townships in Papua as the sample. The researchers employed questionnaire and interview as the instrument for collecting data. Data were analyzed utilizing descriptive statistics to run for frequencies and percentages. The result revealed that the EFL SHS teachers in Papua perceived that their teacher competence was good. As the majority of the respondents (91.8%) contended that they possessed good competency and only a few of respondents (8.2%) claimed that their competence was very good. None of the respondents asserted either they have poor or fairly good competence.

The aim of this study was to reveal English Foreign Language (EFL) classroom activities conducted by teachers in teaching listening using songs. A qualitative study method was applied. Three teachers of a senior high school in Indonesia were interviewed. Classroom observations were done. Teachers strongly believed that their students enjoyed the class and involved in the activities provided. The results show that students were eagerly active in the class joining activities conducted by teachers in teaching listening using songs. There were sixty students given questionnaire. They were chosen randomly. The study implies that it is necessary for teachers to plan various activities to attract students’ attention as well as to choose the appropriate song so that all of students are engaged in the learning process.
