To provide educational and learning services to students during the Covid-19 Pandemic, learning is carried out by learning from home. The disparity in learning achievements, especially related to attitude competencies, is strongly experienced during learning from home. This study aims to integrate attitude values through learning with Ki Hajar Dewantara’s scaffolding concept comprising Identifying, Imitating, Developing, Disseminating respectively. This scaffolding is applied to strengthen the character of junior high school students in Yogyakarta Special Province to become Pancasila Students. This is a Research and Development study which applies a qualitative approach. Respondents to this study were teachers, principals, students, parents and junior high school supervisors in this province. Data were collected using focus group discussion, interview, observation.. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman models which comprised data reduction, data display and inference stages. The results of this study is a character education strengthening model during learning from home applying Ki Hajar Dewantara’s scaffolding concept. This model contributes to policy making of character education strengthening during the learning from home online.

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of Jigsaw learning model on mutual respect in grade VIII junior high school students. The study population consisted of 3 classes totaling 72 students. The sample of this research is class VIII students, amounting to 23 students. The determination of the sample class of this study was carried out using random sampling techniques. The research data were obtained through the distribution of pre-test and post-test in which validity were tested using the product moment formula. Research data were analyzed using quantitative techniques through independent sample t-test. The results showed that the use of the Jigsaw learning model had a significant effect on the mutual respect of students in the eighth grade. The results of this study can be a reference for education practitioners and related parties in an effort to instill mutual respect for students in schools, especially in the learning process.These findings can be further research material to find models, methods, or media that can be used by education practitioners and related parties for character education in schools.

The research is an inventory aimed at identifying and categorizing the character values in the English package books for students of Islamic Junior High School or Madrasah Tsanawiyah by considering their relevance to Islamic character values in the Quran and Hadits. The method used was content analysis following Bogdan and Biklen model by analyzing, grouping, sorting, and synthesizing the values taken from the package books to draw the patterns.  The patterns were discussed to conclude the final findings to be disseminated as the list of inventory.  The main data source was the English package books published by the government and the supporting data were the Core Competencies taken from Curriculum 2013 for Junior High School (SMP) and Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) or Islamic Junior High School students. There are 10 values inserted in the package books that are relevant to the Islamic religious characters. The result showed various English expressions relevant to Islamic character values which have a long-term and sustainable effect as a reference for character building by English teachers in developing English supplementary materials for Islamic Junior High School students.

<p><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p><br />In 2015, Ministry of Education and Culture, Republic of Indonesia did a<br />breakthrough in the educational communication field, it is online-national<br />examination, known as computer based test. In Jakarta, implementation of<br />computer based test is coordinated by Provincial Education Board of DKI<br />Jakarta and caried out 30 schools which consist of 1 junior high school, 3<br />senior high schools, and 26 vocational schools. SMPK 2 Penabur Jakarta was<br />the first and chosen by government to run that new examination method. The<br />purpose of this research is to know about comparison between paper based<br />test in 2014 and computer based test in 2015 at SMPK 2 Penabur Jakarta,<br />that was held on May 4 until 7, 2015. Selection of research subject was based<br />on psychological characteristic of 9<br /> grade students in junior high school<br />(14 – 15 years old) who prioritized to observe on. The research applied social<br />judgment theory by Muzafer Sherif. This qualitative-descriptive research used<br />case study method and based on constructivism paradigm. Data collection was<br />conducted by interview, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and documentation<br />study through online media. The result of this study shows that computer based<br />test is more excellent than paper based test. Improving the speaking skill of the students requires creativity in strategies. Therefore, this research aims to describe the kind of strategies as well as the obstacles. This research used observation sheet and interview guide as the instruments. The subjects of this research were two English teachers who teach the junior high school students at SMP Inshafuddin Banda Aceh. The data were collected by observing and interviewing the teachers. Then, the procedure of data analysis for this research involved data condensation, data display and drawing the conclusion. The result of the first research question of this research described that there are five strategies used by the teachers in teaching speaking skills, namely role play, drilling, games, picture describing, and storytelling. Meanwhile, the result of the second research question described the obstacles faced by the teachers related in applying the strategies. It is suggested for the teachers to be creative in applying several strategies to improve students’ speaking skill. In conclusion, in order to be succeed in applying the strategies, the teachers need to find the solution in overcoming the obstacles while applying the strategies.
