Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran materi geometri ruang SMP dengan memanfaatkan alat peraga manipulatif dan lingkungan yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian pengembangan ini menggunakan model pengembangan Four-D yang dimodifikasi menjadi tiga tahap: pendefinisian, perancangan, dan pengembangan. Uji pengembangan dilakukan di SMP N 1 Dukuhseti, Pati, Jawa Tengah. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi lembar validasi perangkat, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, lembar penilaian kepraktisan perangkat, dan instrumen penilaian hasil belajar. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini berupa perangkat pembelajaran yaitu: RPP, LKS, Lembar Observasi Sikap (LOS) dan Tes Hasil Belajar (THB) dengan tingkat kevalidan 100%.  Tingkat kepraktisan LKS, RPP, dan LOS 100% sedangkan tingkat kepraktisan THB 84,36%. Tingkat keterlaksanaan pembelajaran 97%. Tingkat keefektifan RPP dan LKS 81%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk hasil pengembangan yang berupa RPP dan LKS memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif, sedangkan instrumen penilaian yang berupa LOS dan THB  memenuhi kriteria valid dan praktis.Kata kunci: alat peraga manipulatif, geometri ruang, lingkungan, pengembangan perangkat. Developing Instructional Materials in Space Geometry for Junior High School Using Manipulative Visual Aids and Environment AbstractThe aims of this research was to result instructional materials in space geometry for junior high school using manipulative visual aids and environment that valid, practical, and effective. This development research using the Four-D development model with modification in three steps: define, design, and develop. The development testing was carried out in SMP N 1 Dukuhseti, Pati, Central Java. The research instruments were a validation sheet, teaching implementation observation sheet, practicality assessment sheet, and competency assessment instrument. The data analysis was conducted quantitative descriptively. This research produced instructional materials including lesson plans, student’s worksheets, observation sheet of attitude, and assessment instrument with the level of validity of the product reached 100%. The degree of practicality lesson plans, worksheets, and observation sheet of attitude were 100%, while the rate of assessment instrument of learning achievement practicality was 84.36%. The level of learning was 97%. The degree of effectiveness of the lesson plans and worksheets products reached 81%. Therefore, it can be concluded that the instructional materials in the form of lesson plans and worksheets were valid, practical, and effective, while the form of assessment instruments observation sheet of attitude, and assessment instrument of learning achievement were valid and practical.Keywords: manipulative visual aid, space geometry, environment, instructional development

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan produk berupa perangkat pembelajaran matematika untuk SMP kelas VII semester genap dengan pendekatan saintifik yang meliputi RPP, LKS, dan instrumen penilaian hasil belajar siswa yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model pengembangan Four-D yang meliputi empat tahap yaitu: (1) pendefinisian, (2) perancangan, (3) pengembangan, dan (4) penyebaran. Tidak semua produk dilakukan uji pengembangan. Uji pengembangan produk hanya dilakukan pada materi persamaan dan pertidaksamaan linear satu vaiabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produk yang telah dilakukan uji pengembangan memenuhi kriteria valid, praktis, dan efektif. Produk memenuhi kriteria valid berdasarkan persentase penilaian ahli mencapai 100%. Produk memenuhi kriteria praktis berdasarkan penilaian guru dan siswa yang termasuk dalam kategori sangat baik, serta berdasarkan hasil observasi keterlaksaan pembelajaran. Produk memenuhi kriteria efektif berdasarkan hasil belajar siswa pada kompetensi sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan. Persentase siswa yang mencapai KKM untuk kompetensi sikap, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan melebihi 75%.Kata Kunci: pengembangan, perangkat pembelajaran, pendekatan saintifik Developing Mathematics Instructional Materials for 7th Grade Students of Junior High School in Second Semester Based on the Scientific Approach AbstractThe aim of this study is to produce mathematics instructional materials for 7th grade students of junior high school in their second semester based on the scientific approach including lesson plans, student’s worksheets, and assessment instrument of learning achievement that fulfill the quality criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. This research was a development study using the Four-D development model with four steps: (1) define, (2) design, (3) develop, and (4) disseminate. Development test was not done for all products. Development testing of product was done only for linear equality and inequality with one variable. The result of the study shows that the product which has done development test is valid, practical, and effective. The product fulfills the validity criterion. It is shown by the percentage of experts’ appraisal which reaches 100% that belongs to a valid category. The product fulfills the practicality criterion based on teacher and student assesment to the instructional material that is in a very good category. The product also fulfills the practicality criterion based on the percentage of teaching implementation. The percentage of teaching implementation exceeded 90%. The product fulfills the effectiveness criterion based on student learning achievement in attitude, knowledge, and skill competency. The percentage of students that achieve minimum mastery criteria for attitude, knowledge, and skill competency exceeded 75%.Keywords: development, instructional material, scientific approach

This research aims to produce a feasible guided inquiry instructional materials by using computer simulation to improve student’s learning achievement of junior high school. The application of computer simulation used consists of PhET (Sims Build an Atom), Jmol, and Periodic Table. Development of this instructional material refers to Dick and Carey’s model. The subjects of this research was instructional materials that consist of syllabus, lesson plan, student’s worksheet, textbook, and achievement test. It was conducted to IX grade students in junior high school. The data were collected using questionnaire, observation, and test. The data were analyzed  using descriptive qualitative and quantitative statistic technique. The results of this research reveal that: (1) the instructional materials which is developed categorized very valid; (2) learning implementation categorized very good; (3) cognitive domain of the students’ learning achievement have increased by a score of N-gain high category; and (4) the students responded positively towards learning. Based on this results, it can be concluded that the guided inquiry instructional materials by using computer simulation which have been developed feasible used to improve student’s learning achievement.

The development of a descriptive text assessment instrument must be considered in the regularity of the questions in accordance with the question grid. Based on the results of observations at Junior High School (SMP) Methodist Charles Wesley Medan, the teacher gave a questionnaire only in the form of essay questions (explanations) even though, in tests or tests carried out it was actually not just essays, but multiple choices. The reality found in school showed that the teaching and learning experiences were dominated by the use of the Direct Instruction model and there were no activities to facilitate students to think criticaly. Thus, it is necessary to develop  guided discovery learning materials to overcome it. The one group pretest-posttest design was used as a the research design involving 30 Junior High School students. The data were analyzed through descriptive qualitative technique. The results showed that students’ activities were consistent with each stage of the guided discovery learning, students’ responses were good, and N-gain test informed that the students’ learning outcome and their  capability  to use  critical  thinking  skills  increased.  Based  on  those  findings,  it  can  be  concluded  that  the  guided  discovery instructional materials were effective to facilitate Junior High School students by think critically.Kenyataan di sekolah metode pembelajaran yang digunakan lebih berorientasi pada Direct Instruction dan belum  tersedia    perangkat  pembelajaran yang  dapat  melatih  keterampilan  berpikir  kritis  siswa  sehingga  perlu dikembangkan pembelajaran yang berorientasi pada penemuan terbimbing untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis kepada siswa SMP. Rancangan penelitian one group pretest-posttest design dengan subyek 30 orang siswa SMP. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aktivitas siswa sesuai dengan tahapan penemuan terbimbing, respon siswa baik, uji N Gain menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar dan kemampuan berpikir kritis serta pembelajaran penemuan terbimbing, pokok bahasan peran manusia dalam pengelolaan lingkungan efektif untuk melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMP.

The research aims at developing culture-based English instructional materials (henceforth, CBEIM) for grade VII of Junior High School students and reveal its final product representation in terms of its effectiveness. The research design was a research and development. The procedure of product development consisted of conducting needs analysis, designing course grids, developing the first draft, implementing the final draft, and evaluating the final product. The product implementation consisted of the 1st tryout involving 4 students from Yogyakarta State Junior High School (henceforth, Y-SJHS) 10, the 2nd tryout involving 34 students from Y-SJHS 7, and there were 68 students involved in the 3rd tryout. They were from Y-SJHS 9 and Y-SJHS 10. The data were collected by using evaluation sheets, an English achievement test, questionnaire to measure students’ level of internalization and actualization toward culture values, and questionnaires for teachers’ responses. The data were analyzed by t-test using paired and independent sample with the gain score. The research finding reveals 1) based on the content expert validation, CBEIM was very good by the aspect of content, language, learning, culture, presentation, and graphical design, whereas based on the graphical design expert, CBEIM was good. 2) Having been implemented, the final product representation was proven to be effective. The students in the experiment classes got a higher improvement than those in the control classes. The statistical calculation of independent samples test with gain score of the English test from the two groups shows the t values of 2.931 with the p = 0.004 < 0.05, while the t-test for equality of means of culture values, t value reached 2.524 and its significance of 2-tailed reached p = 0.037 < 0.05, alpha value (α=0.05). Since the gain score is smaller than 0.05, CBEIM demonstrates that it can show a significant difference between the experiment and control classes in encouraging students to internalize and actualize the culture values.

This research aimed at developing culture-based English language assessment instrument for the second semester of grade seven of junior high school in Buleleng Subdistrict to support the implementation of Curriculum 2013. This research was categorized as research and development. Research and development model which was used in this research proposed by Peffers et.al (2007). The suitable English assessment for the second semester of grade seven of junior high school was English assessment with integrated Balinese culture in order to support the development of character building. The steps of developing this English assessment instrument included assessment goal analysis, assessment standard analysis, syllabus analysis, learning source analysis, designing blue print, developing assessment, expert judgment, and revision. This research produced English assessment instrument which assessed students’ affective, cognitive, and psychomotor domains. The reliability and quality of the developed assessment instrument were found out by giving expert judgment form to the experts of assessment and English language teaching. The scores which were given by the two experts were 650 from the first expert and 802 from the second expert. Based on those scores, the quality of the developed English assessment instrument was categorized as excellent. The reliability of the data was categorized as excellent in which the score of Alpha Cronbach’s coefficient was 0.9. It means that the developed culturebased English assessment instrument was suitable to be used in teaching and learning process that implements Curriculum 2013 in Buleleng Sub-district.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan prestasi belajar Matematika materi irisan dan gabungan dua himpunan dengan menerapkan Portal Rumah Belajar pada Kelas VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surabaya tahun ajaran 2012 - 2013. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dua siklus dan tiap siklus terdiri dari 4 langlah yaitu : (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan, (3) observasi, dan (4) refleksi.Hasil penelitian Penggunaan Portal Rumah Belajar pada siswa Kelas VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surabaya, terbukti meningkatkan prestasi belajar siswa, sebelum tindakan siswa yang tuntas belajar sebanyak 22 siswa atau 73,3 %, pada Siklus I siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 23 siswa atau 76,7 %. sedangkan pada Siklus II siswa yang tuntas sebanyak 28 siswa atau 93,3 %. Dengan demikian kualitas pembelajaran dari sebelum tindakan sampai dengan Siklus II terjadi peningkatan. Saran dalam PTK ini adalah: Guru harus memotivasi siswa untuk belajar secara inovatif mempergunakan media pembelajaran. Guru hendaknya memiliki paradigma bahwa guru bukan satu-satunya sumber belajar. Pembelajaran Matematika hendaknya disampaikan dengan menggunakan media yang mampu menyenangkan siswa dan mampu membuat siswa aktif. Kata Kunci: Himpunan, Portal Rumah BelajarAbstract: Math is considered difficult and students have less motivation in learning math. That is why teacher must provide approprite learning medium to ease the students to learn math. The aim of this study was to increase students’ mathematic learning achievement on intersection set and union set by applying the Portal Rumah Belajar for Seventh Grade A of Muhammadiyah 1 Junior High School Surabaya year 2012 - 2013. The design of the study was Classroom Action Research. In this study two cycles were conducted, and each of which consisted of 4 steps, namely: (1) plan, (2) act, (3) observe, and (4) reflect. The use of Portal Rumah Belajar could increase the achievement of seventh grade students of Muhammadiyah 1 Junior High School Surabaya. The number of student passing the competency in the pre-action was 22 students or 73.3%, in the cycle was 23 students or 76.7%, and in the cycle II were 28 students or 93.3%. Thus the quality of learning increased between pre-action and the second cycle. Recommendation from this classroom action research was: teacher should motivate students to learn innovatively by using instructional media. Teachers should have a paradigm that teacher was not the only source of learning. Learning math should be submitted using the media to please students and be able to keep students active. Noise can caused problem in urban education, especially school which near the source of noises. Noises means every sound that can attract attention, disturbing, or dangerous for daily routine, noise in general defined as sound that is not desired and also caused environment polution. Noise can come from various place, such as: highway, train station, airport, etc. Learning achievement is an evidence of successful learning or ability in student in doing learning activities based on the weight they have achieved. This research using a correlational pearson method, that is for looking for relationship between noise and learning achievement. We do this research in X Public Junior High School in Jakarta in 17 boys student and 18 girls student with aged between 12-14 years old with quetionnaire. The reability test result in two section in “quetionnaire about class noises” showed that this quetionnaire is measured what is supposed to be measured (reliable) because the result of reability test is >0,60. After being tested the correlation between noise and students learning achievement, it can be stated that there is no correlation between noises with students learning achievement of Junior High School X Jakarta

This research related to Implementation of instruction based students’ activities and Students’ learning Motivation toward students’ learning achievementt of Ninth Grade Students State Junior High School 3 Pamekasan regency . The students’ learning achievementt is influenced by Implementation of instruction based students’ activities. Additionally it is influenced by Students’ learning Motivation. Good and regularly Implementation of instruction based students’ activities brings a positive effect on the students’ learning achievement and a high learning motivation in teaching will increase the students achievement.            The purpose of this research is (1) to describe  Implementation of instruction based students’ activities toward students’ learning achievement. (2) to describe the significant influence of the Students’ learning Motivation toward students’ learning achievement . (3) to describe the significant influence of Implementation of instruction based students’ activities and Students’ learning Motivation simultaniously toward students’ learning achievement.            The design of this research is descriptive quantitative. The subject of the research is Ninth Grade Students of State Junior High School 3 Pamekasan. The data collecting technique is by giving some questionnaires. Data analyzing technique used patial and multi-regression computerized SPSS 17.00 program for windows. The Result and the discussion as follows:  a) There is a significant influence on the Implementation of instruction based students’ activities  (X1) toward students’ learning achievement is about 0,312. b) There is a significant influence on the Students’ learning Motivation (X2) toward students’ learning achievement is about 0,062 by the significanct level 0,000, on t-account, that means smaller than 0,05. It can be concluded that X1 and X2 are very significant. c) There is a significant influence on the Implementation of instruction based students’ activities and Students’ learning Motivation simultaneously toward students’ learning achievement is about 17,617 by the significanct level 0,000, on F-account, that means smaller than 0,05. It can be concluded that X1 and X2 are very significant toward Y.
