This chapter examines the experience of eight pre-service teachers of Czech as a Second Language both in Spring 2020, when their teaching practicum classes abruptly turned online, and Fall 2020, when online teaching became the “new normal,” and traces how they coped with the new instructional media. The data were collected in two group zoom sessions with a supervisor and two observed lessons with observation sheets and lesson plans, and finally, in a written reflection and a recorded group interview. The teachers identified two main problems: 1) a lack of previous training and experience with online instruction and 2) classroom management specifics related to the nature of online lessons. Peer observation and collaborative tasks emerged as the main coping strategies. Although the teachers adapted to the new situation well, training programs should provide more courses on CALL (computer-assisted language learning) in their curricula in the future.

Instructional media in control systems typically requires a real plant as an element to be controlled. However, this real plant, which is costly to be implemented, can be replaced by a virtual plant implemented in a computer and modelled in such a way that it resembles the behavior of a real plant. This kind of set-up is widely termed as hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation. HIL simulation is an alternative way to reduce the development cost. A virtual plant is easy to adjust to represent various plants or processes that are widely used in industry. This paper proposes a simple HIL simulation set-up designed as instructional media for design and testing a simple control system. The experimental result on DC motor control shows that HIL simulation dynamical response is similar to the real hardware response with a small average error on measured transient response, represented in 0.5 seconds difference in settling time and 7.43 % difference in overshoot. This result shows the efficacy of our HIL simulation set-up.

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of Arabic instructional media used in eleventh grade of Arabic senior high schools in Brunei Darussalam. This study was quantitative and evaluative study. The researchers distributed questionnaires to all Arabic teachers who teach grade eleven students in the schools. The data then were analyzed quantitatively and having evaluative analysis. Based on data analysis, it was found that the instructional media used to teach Arabic language in grade eleven has advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are the availability of modern and various media (87.5%), most of the media are appropriate for the students’ age and cognitive level (87.5%), all media are interesting and helpful for Arabic language skills (100%), and most of the teachers often use the media (87.5%). While, the weaknesses are there is still few media that is not as modern as it is expected (12.5%) such as language laboratory, a few media is not appropriate for the students (12.5%), and there are still some teachers who do not use the media frequently (12.5%).

The purpose of this research is the development of online forum-based learning media to improve Knowledge Management in Bogor Polbagtan students with more flexibility in terms of cost, time and place. This research uses the Research and Development (R & D) method by developing learning media in the form of online forums to improve knowledge management consisting of tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge. In developing instructional media in the form of online forums, the steps refer to the research design and development of the Borg and Gall models. The subjects of this study were students of Bogor Polbagtan, meanwhile, to measure the impact of this study, using the COLLES method. Based on research findings in the field, the results of data analysis, and reflections on every trial conducted, Research and Development produces learning media, online forums for improving knowledge management among students. While the impact on the development of online forums using the COLLES method obtained a score of 4.07 which is at a good interval, which means students are comfortable and accept learning media in the form of online forums for learning tools to increase Knowledge Management.

The minimum quality of instructional media which is completed with appropriate teaching method on Buddhist religious education subject impacts towards students’ learning achievement.  This study aims to create and analyze the validity and feasibility of interactive audio-visual learning media based on VCT which focuses on material about Buddhist temples in Indonesia. The method used in this study is the research and development method by using ADDIE model. Data collection techniques were by giving questionnaires to media experts, material experts, teachers and students. Data analysis used was descriptive percentage and descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the study indicate the instructional media is very feasible to use which can be seen from the questionnaire analysis with an average score of validation results by material experts is 82,5% which is included into very feasible, the results of media validation by media experts is 82,5% which is included into very feasible, the response of teachers towards instructional media compiled is 86,6% which is included into very feasible, and final result among 29 students response towards the media shows 25 students (86%) declare that the insructional media is very feasible meanwhile the rest 4 students (14%) argue that the media is feasible. In conclusion the learning media compiled are valid and very feasible to use in teaching Buddhist education about Buddhist temples in Indonesia.

Abstract Math lessons are abstract and complex for students to understand, so that the teachers need instructional media to develop by using technology to help their students get deep learning. This study aimed to validate the instructional media to teach the Pythagorean theorem and describe the students and the teachers’ responses to the instructional media. The researchers implemented the ADDIE model in this study. The sample comprised 30 students in 7th grade and 56 teachers. The process of validation involved ten academics. The results of this study showed that the instructional material could be used. The results also showed that the students were happier when the teachers used the instructional media in the classroom.

ABSTRACTThe development of technology that is termed ad Industrial Revolution 4.0 is an era of innovation developed rapidly that can help the creation of new technology. The research findings developed an Android based instructional media that was named as WINLAB (Wawasan didalam Pembelajaran Laboratorium), it consisted of the introduction of laboratory equipment, and it was expected to ease students in the learning process. It was Mixed Method Research. The research findings showed that this instructional media had the appropriateness with 85% percentage and very valid criterion by the validators of media experts, 96.92% percentage and very valid criterion by the validator of material experts, practicality test by Chemistry subject teachers showed 92% percentage with very practical criterion, the response test of the tenth-grade student of MIA 1 at State Sport Senior High School Riau Province stated that Android based instructional media was very good with 90% percentage. However, this research still consisted of some shortcomings, so it was expected in the future that the effectiveness test would be done to know the effectiveness of the media.  Keywords: WINLAB, android, chemistry instructional media  ABSTRAK Perkembangan teknologi yang diistilahkan dengan revolusi industri 4.0 merupakan era inovasi yang berkembang sangat pesat sehingga mampu membantu terciptanya teknologi baru. Instructional media that are innovative and easy are really needed by students in the current situation. M-learning based on Home Science Process Skill (HSPS), is an innovative learning medium that applies science learning directly in life, with the guidance of parents at home and teachers. The study aims to produce design of m-learning based on home science process skill for science learning. This research was conducted in April 2021 at SMPN 30 Kota Tangerang. The method used was the Research and Development (R&D) research method with the Instructional Development Institute (IDI) model. The stages of research and development of learning media were to define stage, develop stage and evaluate stage. The results of the feasibility test for the design of m-learning based on Home Science Process Skill by media experts and material experts obtained an average assessment of 78.40% and 87.50% with good and very good interpretations. The conclusion of this research was that the design of this learning media was feasible to be used as a medium for student learning media.
