The term "detonability" with respect to fuel-air mixtures (FAMs) implies the ability of a reactive mixture of a given composition to support the propagation of a stationary detonation wave in various thermodynamic and gasdynamic conditions. The detonability of FAMs, on the one hand, determines their explosion hazards during storage, transportation, and use in various sectors of the economy and, on the other hand, the possibility of their practical application in advanced energy-converting devices operating on detonative pressure gain combustion.

This article considers the worldview, embodied in the decoration on Bronze Age pottery, created by the tribes of the Andronovo culture period (2nd millennium BC) in the territory of Kazakhstan. The Andronovo culture dates back to the Chalcolithic period when communities of the geometric pottery cultures lived here. Pottery was on the one hand utilitarian, and on the other sacral in use, combining elements of sculpture (the shape of a vessel) and painting (decorating an object). In the pro-cess of historical development, in accordance with the regularities of immanent formation and under the influence of external factors, several features of the decoration components emerged. The article contributes to the study of the problems, which remain relevant and require understanding. The opportunities for interpretation of pottery as a source and the use of different analysis methods allow for extracting new ethnological and art history information.

The article deals with some aspects of the pimping investigation by an organized group. The crime situation as the element of the criminalistic characteristic of this offence is examined, and its relation with other elements is examined too. The author emphasizes that the crime scene is a broad concept that includes a number of elements that characterize the environment in which a socially dangerous act is committed. They must always identify the time, place and conditions of the crime that are relevant to his full investigation. The crime scene should be investigated from different directions. In particular, on the one hand, as the geographical spread of the investigated criminal offense, on the other - the specific place of its commission. The location of the pimping is part of the event. It contains a large amount of information about the mode of commission of a criminal offense, certain data about the identity of the offender. On the basis of the investigation of materials of criminal proceedings the author has identified the following places of committing pimping by an organized group: 1) recreation establishments (of which: night clubs, cafes, bars, restaurants); 2) weekend or vacation establishments (of which: recreation centers, hotels, "rental" apartments); 3) facilities for sports and wellness (of which: spas, massage rooms, wellness centers); 4) the place of residence of the "client" (of which: apartments, houses, holiday cooperatives); 5) vehicles; 6) other places. It has been noted that the frequency of pimping by an organized group depends on the time of day as follows: about 7% are done in the morning (from 6 to 12 hours); 14% - in the afternoon (from 12 to 18 hours); 42% - in the evening (from 18 to 24 hours); 37% - at night (1 to 6 hours). And according to the criterion of the season, these actions are performed in the summer in 22% of cases; in the fall - 25%; in winter - 21%; in the spring - 32%. Also important are the conditions of the criminal offense under inves-tigation.

Although community engagement is increasingly promoted in global health research to improve ethical research practice, there is sometimes a disconnect between the broader moral ambitions for community engagement in the literature and guidelines on the one hand and its rather narrower practical application in health research on the other. In practice, less attention is paid to engaging communities for the ‘intrinsic’ value of showing respect and ensuring inclusive participation of community partners in research design. Rather, more attention is paid to the use of community engagement for ‘instrumental’ purposes to improve community understanding of research and ensure successful study implementation. Against this backdrop, we reviewed the literature and engaged various research stakeholders at a workshop to discuss ways of strengthening ethical engagement of communities and to develop context-relevant guidelines for community engagement in health research in Malawi.

This chapter explains in detail the first core principle of the law of weaponry, namely the superfluous injury and unnecessary suffering principle. This customary principle binds all states and protects combatants and others taking a direct part in the hostilities. The evolution of the notion from somewhat under-developed notions expressed in a treaty text in 1868 to its most recent treaty articulation in 1977 is traced. As the Chapter explains, suffering is the normal and inevitable consequence of the use of weapons. It is the aggravation of that suffering, without corresponding military utility, that would exceed the legitimate object to be accomplished by a State in a war, and that would as a result breach the principle. The problem with the practical application of a principle that seems to require comparison of two such incomparable notions as injury and suffering on the one hand and military utility on the other is addressed. Practical guidance is given as to how the principle should be applied, both by those whose task it is to undertake weapon reviews and more generally.

The article proposes a methodology according to which the assessment of tourist recreational historical-cultural potential of administrative regions of Nizhny Novgorod oblast was conducted which was based on the sequential analysis of types of monuments, their quantity, status, density on the one hand, and the diversity of interests of experienced tourists on the other. As the result of the research, an estimation model was proposed which allowed to conduct the resource tourist recreational zoning of administrative regions of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. The practical application of the proposed estimation systems and corresponding tourist zoning in the planning and designing of the territories allows to structure the resources of the territory, to predict the potential tourist specialization of regions, the possibilities to create the thematic tourist complex and to optimize the usage of their resources and their conservation, respectively.

This article is intended to investigate how the concept of the Way (dao ) is applied in the Analects of Confucius both as a universal norm and as a practical application in association with other concepts, virtue (de ) on the one hand, and ability or skill (neng ) or method (fang ) on the other. Through a synthetic reconstruction of these concepts, it will come to the conclusion that the Way, virtue, and practical skills are the three central and mutually interpreted themes in the ethical discourse as presented in the Analects.
