The need for the reconstruction of existing auto service enterprises is caused by changes in the structure of the rolling stock, the design of cars and the conditions of their operation, increasing the requirements for the quality of rolling stock, the design of cars and their operating conditions, increasing the quality requirements for maintenance and repair, saving fuel and energy resources and quality assurance of the environment. In our case, the need to reconstruct the autoservice company LLC "Avtomir" is associated with the need to switch to maintenance and storage of new types of rolling stock, as well as changes in the dynamics of demand for cars. In LLC Avtomir there is no possibility of rendering services related to damage to the body of the car, which reduces the ability of the organization to receive additional income, as this type of damage owners of vehicles have to eliminate at other service stations. This fact puts the company in front of the need to create a paint and body shop in the future. The purpose of this work was the development of measures to reconstruct the infrasructure of LLC "Avtomir". The main results of the technological calculation of the enterprise are as follows: - the annual workload of the technical service station is 43529 man-hour; - annual scope of works of washing, maintenance, lubrication, adjusting for setting the angles of the front wheels, adjusting brakes, maintenance and repair of the power system, electrical, tire fitting 4913; 15235.2; 2176.5; 2611.7; 3917.6; 4353; 4353; 2285 and 914 man-hour respectively; - the annual volume of works at the tire fitting site, on the maintenance and repair site of the power supply system, electrical, maintenance units is 2133; 762; 4788.2 man-hour respectively; - necessary number of production workers for maintenance and technical maintenance 29 (technological) and 35 (staff), as well as the number of auxiliary 4 and engineering - technical 5 workers; - the necessary number of posts for washing, maintenance, lubricants, technical maintenance, adjusting for setting the angles of the front wheels, adjusting for the brakes, maintenance and repair of the power system, electrical 4; 1; 1; 1; 1; 1 and 1 respectively. Analysis of production and economic activities of the enterprise allowed us to identify the objectives of the enterprise, the dynamics of its development, the state of the production and technical base. This makes it possible to identify the main shortcomings in the functioning of the organization and to implement the formulation of new tasks that need to be solved in the future. Namely, LLC "Avtomir" needs to increase production capacity, namely the addition of a diagnostic post and one more car acceptance post. In addition, there is a need to implement the washing zone, and on the vacated area to arrange a painting and drying chamber and a preparation site for painting works.

This paper makes no attempt to compare British and American practice because of the wide difference in operating conditions prevailing in the two countries. Developments which have taken place in the last seven years on the London Midland and Scottish Railway are described, showing the improvements in the conventional British passenger coach. This originally consisted of a separate riveted steel underframe and timber-framed body, but to reduce weight without sacrifice of strength, welding and high-tensile steel have been employed and timber gradually eliminated. This has resulted in an increasing identification of the underframe and body which has produced an all-steel coach giving a weight of about 500 lb. per passenger seat. Means adopted include the body side and underframe combined into the form of a Vierendeel truss, the design of which is briefly described, together with the method of calculating the stresses in the different members. On the constructional side, the layout of the shops and the special presses and tools are dealt with. A method of unit assembly has been adopted and both spot and arc welding are largely used. Details are given of the erection into a complete coach, and of the overload tests made on the finished structure. Particulars are given of the savings in weight attained, and the paper concludes with suggestions as to the direction in which further progress may be sought in the future.

This paper presents a discussion on aircraft type gas-turbine train development. For railway traction purposes, the turbo-engines used on aircraft would improve the quality of the services provided in the electrified lines. The gas turbine should insure high speed and satisfactory acceleration. It would enable relatively lightweight construction to be carried out and run at a higher speed than trains on non-electrified lines. The gas turbine will not completely replace the diesel engine, but it will enable rolling stock to be constructed for which the diesel is unsuitable, especially in the case of high-speed, lightweight trainsets and, in the future, very high-powered units.

Natural resources play as vital inputs for economic activities, mainly in developing countries. However, massive use of natural resources puts more pressure on the environment and as the result, the quality of environment is deteriorating. The body of economic literature have shown that income is associated with harm to the natural environment. The relationship between income and degradation of the environment is known as the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis. Previous studies of EKC hypothesis in Indonesia are still limited and the results are inconclusive due to different results. Therefore, the aim of this study is to present a new insight of the existence of EKC in Indonesia using different method. Most of previous studies of EKC in Indonesia employ Autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) method, while this study uses data panel regression method from 33 provinces in Indonesia during 2012 to 2018. The result confirms the existence of EKC hypothesis in Indonesia. This study also estimates the turning point, a level of income that starts give positive impact on the environment. This result gives new insight to the existing literature. The policy implication for policymakers are straightforward, i.e. improve wealth of the society through higher income for the protection of the environment.

The paper analyzes the technological preparation of production at the railcar enterprises in terms of developing technological processes and processing sets of technological documents. Factors affecting the quality of technological preparation of production for maintenance and repair of rolling stock are considered. In contrast to the previously performed works, where the assessment of the level of technological training was carried out by experts of a scientific organization, the initial data in the article were the results of a survey of specialists of technical departments of structural divisions of the car industry of the Sverdlovsk and South Ural Railways. Based on the method of expert qualimetry, the weight of factors that have the greatest impact on the quality of technological processes is estimated. As a result of the survey, a low level of automation of design processes was established, which consists mainly in the design of technological documentation. It is shown that the degree of depth of development and detail of technological processes is at the level of the route description

The objective of the article is to develop and to substantiate adequacy of the proposed indicator for assessing availability of rolling stock for urban mass transit or urban passenger transport (UPT). As such an indicator, it is recommended to use a calculated indicator: a conventional one-hundred-seat vehicle. The currently used indicators characterising provision of UPT with vehicles, consider only the physical number of the latter. This does not provide an assessment of carrying capacity of UPT, considering the existing operating conditions (real operating speeds on the routes of UPT, the existing level of the coefficient of the fleet being used on the routes as compared to the total number of fleet units, etc.). The proposed indicator of availability of the rolling stock considers not only the natural number of vehicles, but also their passenger capacity, the indicated significant technical and operational indicators of the vehicle fleet. The basis for assessing the carrying capacity of the rolling stock fleet is a conventional one-hundred-seat bus, which performs transportation on routes with an average operating speed. For real buses, this basic unit is adjusted in accordance with real travel speeds and the prevailing values of technical and operational indicators. A similar adjustment is performed for real trolleybuses and tram cars, which makes it possible to level the operational differences in the rolling stock of various types of UPT to compare them in terms of carrying capacity. The methodology used in preparation of the article is based on the integrated use of scientific knowledge in the fields of applied science on operation of transport, statistics (statistical observation and accounting of the work of UPT), a comparative analysis of indicators used in various industries, in particular, in agriculture to assess the level of provision with the main production vehicles (conventional tractor), benchmarking research and development of Russian and foreign authors on the problem of improving operation of UPT.The indicator is intended for use in development and assessment of the level of implementation of programs for development of UPT and the urban environment, analysis of the quality of transport planning and services provided to passengers, comparisons of provision with vehicles in different cities.

Basit Ali glanced at his watch. It was 3 p.m. on 17 March 2014, and only two hours were left before he would meet with CEO Amjad Raheem about production capacity analysis. Due to the excellent product quality of Star Footwear, the CEO was anticipating a significant increase in demand for one of its most famous articles, SF-119, in the next quarter. Historically, the demand for SF-119 fluctuated between 300 and 400 pairs per day. Although the existing production capacity was sufficient to fulfil the current demand of SF-119, the CEO was concerned about the future increase in demand that could be justified using current resources.

To obtain quality continuously casted billets, electromagnetic stirring (EMS) of melt is used. Most of the industrial CCM operating in Russia are equipped by EMS systems, supplied by foreign companies. EMS stators of foreign production are manufactured as a rule in nonseparable bodies and after their failures the systems must undergo expensive repair abroad at the manufacturers. At VNIIMETMASH the EMS systems of external design were created, in which this problem was solved. The version ЭМПУ 880 (EMPU 880) is completely demountable, that provides conditions for its maintenance and repair under conditions of electric shop of a plant without attraction of expensive materials and equipment. All the materials are domestic made and available. The developed facility comprises 3-phases stator submerged into water, placed in a demountable body of a corrosionresistant steel. The airproofing the body accomplished by a heat-resistant resin. Water supply into the internal area of the body and taking it away is made by end nipples. The terminal unit is arranged in the body having removable covers to connect the power mains. The output ends of the three phases are airtight in the sealing blocks under pressure of 10–12 atm. The designed EMS facility is placed at arranged locations. The peculiarities of the EMS facility design allow to increase up to 585 mm the distance to the plain of maximum rotating forces of the meniscus in the mold. Taking into account that the total energy in the active zone flow decreased and the distance to the meniscus increases, quieter meniscus can be expected at more intensive regimes of the stirring. This circumstance allow improving considerably the quality of the continuously casted billet.

The article analyzes and summarizes the theoretical approaches to the interpretation of the concepts of "transit", "transit potential" and "customs regime", which have been developed by various scientific schools. The author's approach to defining the essence and content of the term "transit potential of the region" is proposed, which means a set of spatial resources of the region as a whole and transport, in particular, between the elements of this system determine the synergetic effect and act as a mechanism for economic growth and territorial development. The structure of the transit potential of the region should be considered a stable way of combining its elements and subsystems, which reflects the elemental composition, the principle of formation and implementation of this potential. Thus, the elements of the transit potential of the region include everything related to its implementation and growth. Resources are an integral part of the region's transit potential, so they are the primary elements of this system. Conditionally, they can be classified as follows: spatial (nature of the territory and the state of the environment, the development of the transport industry, density and quality of roads, the possibility of their expansion or optimization, the level of contact with neighboring countries, etc.); technical (rolling stock, infrastructure facilities, material and technical base of maintenance, service and repair of vehicles); technological (traditional transport technologies, intermodal technologies, container technologies, scientific technological developments); personnel (quantitative and qualitative composition of employees, their level of competence, staff adaptability to changes in the conditions of the system); managerial (nature and flexibility of the management system, features of its organizational structure, quality of functioning); information (information on the possibilities of realizing the transit potential of the region); financial (state of local budgets, profitability of economic activities, opportunities of banking and financial systems, insurance companies). It is established that the development of the transit potential of the region is influenced by exogenous and endogenous factors. Exogenous factors are divided into geopolitical, macroeconomic, institutional. Each of these groups of factors can be considered in the analysis of capacity development by mode of transport. Endogenous factors include regional (natural-geographical, socio-cultural, economic, environmental) and transport (technical, technological and managerial).
