Abstract In the modern world a person strives for an industrial society more and more, accumulating power and trying to enclose them in one machine that would perform several operations in one pass over the field surface. So there are implements performing tillage with application of fertilizers or soil cultivation with simultaneous planting and application of fertilizers. Using such implements allows to reduce costs for further cultivation of crops. However, the stake placed on soil preparation and application of fertilizers can not always give the desired effect without due attention to the seed material and technical maintenance. That is why seedbed preparation, the seed material and machines are the main problems of high technology society.

Reliability and maintenance analysis of transport machines hydraulic drives, basically focused to power units: pumps, cylinders etc., without taking in to account junction elements. Therefore, this paper proposes a research analysis on high-pressure hoses and junctions during technical maintenance. Comparative analysis of fluid behavior and energy efficiency inside non-repaired and repaired high-pressure hoses is presented in this research. Theoretical and experimental research results for hydraulic processes inside high-pressure hose is based on the numerical simulations using Navier–Stokes equations and experimental measurement of fluid flow pressure inside high-pressure hoses. Research of fluid flow dynamics in the hydraulic system was made with main assumptions: system flow rate in the range from 5 to 100 l/min, diameter of the hoses and repairing fitting are 3/8". The pressure drops, power losses, flow coefficients at non-repaired and after maintenance hose was obtained as a result. Simulation results were verified by running physical experiments to measure the pressure losses.

Abstract The article considers an approach to the development of a risk-based strategy model for the technical maintenance of a unique technological structure. It is proposed to use the minimum risk of the structure failure as a criterion for optimizing the technical maintenance of the structure. It is shown that this approach allows to decrease considerably and by limited means the risk of the elements failure especially those influencing the structure safety. The task of determining the strategy parameters of technical maintenance of the construction object under consideration is formulated as a Boolean mathematical programming task. The theoretical conclusions are confirmed by the calculation example. The solution showed the advantage concerning the risk of use of the proposed strategy in comparison with the current one.

The renovation of historic buildings is a complex task, as standard packages of solutions cannot be applied as in the renovation of buildings without historical significance. Each measure must be assessed on a case-by-case basis. In addition to improving energy efficiency and technical maintenance, the preservation and the  respect of the historic values must be guaranteed. The compatibility among the different measures of the renovation strategy must be carefully considered before being implemented.

Abstract The paper describes the problems of modeling of technical support systems of transport systems related to organizational and technical systems based on the implementation of the system approach to information technologies. It gives the theoretical basis for the description of technical maintenance of intelligent transport systems taking into account cybernetic representation. The paper also justifies the formalization of the process of technical maintenance of information systems, which include intelligent transport systems. It shows that a modern maintenance system of intelligent systems should be able to quickly adapt to needs and, if necessary, increase the amount of recovery works without disrupting the existing mode of operation.

The threshing mechanism is the main component of the combine harvester on which the grain separation and cleaning qualitative work indicators depend. It is important to ensure that all threshing mechanism components, including the threshing drum bearings and all other bearings of the combine, are working properly and reliably. There are many places in the combine where it is not possible to measure bearing vibrations directly without dismounting them, since there is no suitable spot to mount a sensor. The paper investigates the threshing drum rolling bearing condition of combines, which are difficult to access, by using a vibration diagnostics technique utilizing a newly manufactured steel bracket. The vibration measurements and analysis were conducted by the Adash A4900 Vibrio M analyzer (Adash spol. s.r.o., Ostrava, Czech Republic). The vibration source measurement was based on the fast Fourier transform (FFT) spectrum analysis. Analysis of the experimental results showed that average squared velocity values (in the frequency interval of 10–1000 Hz), together with other measured vibration parameters, can be used for the combine threshing drum‘s bearing condition evaluation.

The article discusses a way to automate the organization of the work of the support service for users of automated control systems (ACS) of transport enterprises. In the context of digitalization, constant improvement, expanding the functionality of such automated control systems, and an increase in the number of their users, the urgency of the problem is beyond doubt. The work of the support service for users of the automated control system of transport enterprises is presented as a queuing system. The possibility of using various methods to solve the problem is analyzed. A description of the work of the support service, methods of forming its departments are given. The incidents she deals with are classified. An algorithm for the formation of support service departments has been developed. It is proposed to solve this problem using a genetic algorithm. The algorithm and the concepts that characterize it are adapted to achieve the goal stated in the article. Crossover variants are presented that can be used by the genetic algorithm to solve various classes of problems. With the help of the developed software, modeling of the organization of the work of the support service was carried out using the algorithm for the distribution of employees. A comparative analysis of the results of modeling the work of departments with various methods of their formation, including those obtained using a genetic algorithm, has been carried out. The analysis showed the effectiveness of the use of the genetic algorithm when planning the work of the relevant departments. The possibility of adapting the developed algorithm for planning the work of personnel involved in the technical maintenance of the infrastructure of urban rail transport systems has been demonstrated. This task is similar to that considered in this article, since in many cases it becomes necessary or possible to use employees with different competencies to perform only one type of work.

The article is dedicated to theoretical and practical research in the resource planning field for the railway facilities’ construction technological process using artificial neural networks. The study is a part of the subsystem in the development of railway construction engineering and technical maintenance — engineering and technical maintenance of railway facilities construction technological process. The subsystem is based on the effective automated systems use with elements of artificial intelligence. This is caused by deviations occurrence from the target requirements during the technological process implementation, due to the railway construction stochasticity, and the need for a prompt revision of the already made decisions. The existing methods allow us to correct the construction work organization, however, the technology remains unchanged, which is dictated by the design documentation and the work safety requirements. To give technological process flexibility in order to adapt to work changing conditions, it is necessary to provide an operational solution to the resource planning problem. The existing resource planning methods peculiarities, the current problem dimension, and the need to take into account a number of restrictions allow us to use artificial intelligence tools. In this regard, a methodology and a railway facilities construction technological process resource planning (labor, technical) computational-logical model with the artificial neural network use were developed. This approach is based on the lack of precise algorithmic actions or rules that can provide the desired result without formal complications. Also, the author has developed a special software module, prepared a data sample, an artificial neural network topological structure, and implemented an algorithm for its training, configuration, and testing. Based on the theoretical research and software module application results, the article presents the practical aspects of resource planning for the railway roadbed flooded embankment erection technological process.
