In this contemporary period, life is changing very swiftly. As a repercussion, adolescents are facing lots of challenges and adjustment problems at home and school. Parents and teachers are worried about the academic achievement and social, emotional adaption of adolescents. The characteristics of family like; parental attitudes, parental involvement, and family relationships, have been found predicting social skills in children with disabilities (Bennett 8 Hay, 2007). The present study was conducted to examine the relationship of family role with social competence and emotional resilience among children with learning disabilities by applying the test co-efficient of correlation. The sample of the study comprised of 60 (15 LD children, 15 fathers, 15 mothers, 15 siblings) selected from U.T. Chandigarh. The major findings revealed that social competence has no relationship with family role but emotional resilience has significant correlation with family role.

The role of visual problems in learning disability has been a source of considerable controversy for many years. One major issue in the continuing argument is the frequent confusion of labels and concepts in the visual field. It is important to view vision as a psychophysiologic mechanism and to differentiate it from a mechanistic orientation emphasizing the eyes. Most visual problems related to learning disability represent a breakdown in the ability of the eyes to function in an harmonious fashion, that is, some interference in binocular function. While visual defects should not be confused with defects in visual perception, the identification and treatment of visual problems is an important element in the diagnosis and remediation of learning disabilities.

The paper presents the results of a comparative study of the attitude towards a child and the family role of mothers of autistic children and children with speech disorders, obtained by the parental attitude (ORO) and parental attitudes (PARI) diagnostics. The study identified that mothers of children with disabilities had common features distinguishing them from mothers of neurotypical children: a more negative attitude towards the family role, the desire to limit extrafamilial influences, excessive emotional concentration on a child, emotional distance, and predominance of desire to accelerate child development over the desire to develop the activity of a child. Correlation analysis showed the reliable correlation between the indicators of ORO and PARI methods: between child acceptance and the optimal emotional contact, between the symbiosis and the attitude to the family role. Within the group of autistic children's mothers, the symbiosis indicator reliably correlated with signs of protecting a child and accelerating the development of a child. The study revealed a reliable correlation between the cooperation indicator and the optimal emotional contact only for groups of mothers of children with speech disorders and children with neurotypical development. In the group of autistic children mothers, the authors identified a negative correlation between the cooperation indicator and the indicators of emotional distance, emotional concentration, and attitude to the family role. In the same group, the tendency towards hypersocialization turned out to be the most profound correlation with the sign of mother’s dependency, the tendency to infantilize a child reliably positively correlated with the signs of will suppression, dependence on the family and reliably negatively correlated with the sign of equalizing relations. The study results became an important argument in favor of the need for specific correctional, and in many cases, psychotherapeutic help to mothers of autistic children and mothers of children with speech disorders. They confirm the facts available in the scientific literature and the new ones that revealed the specifics of their attitude towards the family role and a child.

Introduction. Different studies have reported the relationship of parenting styles with adjustment problems in children. However, it has not been specified which aspects of parenting styles play a central role in the manifestation of such psychological problems. Objective. To increase the knowledge about the role of which parental educational styles are associated with internalizing, externalizing, and adjustment problems in Colombian children. Method. Through structural equations, the fit of the proposed model was verified. Participants were 422 parents and children aged between 8 and 12 years, enrolled in public schools in Bogota, Colombia. The Parental Educational Styles Questionnaire, the Child Behavior Checklist, and the Parent Format and Self-assessment Multifactorial Adjustment test were applied. Results. Family dynamics and parental practices have effects on internalizing, externalizing, and general maladjustment problems. Parental roles and practices show indirect effects on general maladjustment through externalizing problems. Discussion and conclusion. The models tested show that conflicts at home, parental overload, impulsivity, permissive, ambiguous/non-consistent styles, and dysfunctional reaction to disobedience play a role in the manifestation of internalizing, externalizing, and adjustment problems in children.

To create teachers with good social competence, the role of a school principal provides example. The success of the principal can be seen from his efforts to motivate the teacher’s socil competence. Need to carry out several policies including planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring. Of course many obstacles faced by a school principal. The next most basic obstacle is to unite differences of opinion between the teachers. In the efforts of the headmaster so that the relationship of social competence among teachers can run according to his expectations, the headmaster of the MIM 10 implements a reward and puinishment system for all teachers

This study aimed to explore the relationships between attachment styles, proximity, and relational satisfaction. This was achieved by assessing a distinct type of long distance romantic relationship of flying crews, compared with proximal (non-flying crew) romantic relationships. The responses of 139 expatriate professionals revealed significant associations between proximity and anxious and avoidant attachment dimensions. The role of the avoidant dimension in comparison with that of the anxious dimension was found to be a significant predictor of relational satisfaction. This study contributes significantly toward addressing the role of proximity and attachment in relational satisfaction in a new context of geographic separation.

Recent research has pointed to two possible causes of mathematical (dis-)ability: working memory and number sense, although only few studies have compared the relations between working memory and mathematics and between number sense and mathematics. In this study, both constructs were studied in relation to mathematics in general, and to mathematical learning disabilities (MLD) in particular. The sample consisted of 154 children aged between 6 and 10 years, including 26 children with MLD. Children performing low on either number sense or visual-spatial working memory scored lower on math tests than children without such a weakness. Children with a double weakness scored the lowest. These results confirm the important role of both visual-spatial working memory and number sense in mathematical development.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the influence of the role, ethics, and independence of internal auditors in implementing good university governance (GUG) with leadership style as a moderation variable. Multiple linear regression and moderation regression analysis models are used to test the hypothesis. The primary data are obtained through questionnaires that are distributed to the respondents, namely the dean and head of study program at the UniversitasBinaDarma and UniversitasMuhammadiyahPalembang. The results of this study indicate that the instruments in each variable proved to be valid and reliable. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it can be seen that simultaneously the variable of role, ethics, and independence of internal auditors have positively and significantly effect in implementing good university governance (GUG). These results provide justification or endorsement of the theoretical truths used as the theoretical references of Stewardship Theory and Attitude and Behavioral Theory. Based on the partial test, role of auditor does not significantly affect the variable of GUG, but ethics and independence variable are found to be significant in influencing GUG. The leadership style is negative and insignificant in moderating the role of internal auditors and GUC and also the independence of internal auditor and GUC. The leadership style is found to be positive and insignificant in moderating the relationship of internal auditors’ ethics and GUC.Keywords        Role, Ethics, Independence, Internal Auditor, Leadership Style, Good University Governance  ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh peran, etika, dan independensi auditor internal dalam menerapkan good university governance (GUG) dengan gaya kepemimpinan sebagai variabel moderasi.
