The study of parental burnout of fathers as well as mothers is relevant, since it may be the source of family trouble in general. The purpose of the study is to identify the factors of parental burnout of fathers and mothers. It is assumed that there are multidirectional correlations between the intensity of parental burnout components and parental sets, the attitude of spouses to the family role, and the consistency of the family functions of fathers and mothers. The study was carried out on a sample of parents of full families in Saratov, raising biological children (N = 61, 40 women (aged M = 32), 21 men (M = 33.9)). The applied methods include the questionnaires "Parental Burnout" (I. N. Efimova); "Role Expectations and Claims in Marriage" (N. A. Volkova), "Parental Attitude Research Instrument " (E. S. Schaefer and R. K. Bell, adapted by T. V. Nescheret and T. V. Arkhireeva), the questionnaire on marital satisfaction (V. V. Stolin, T. L. Romanova, G. P. Butenko). The largest number of correlations between the parameters of parental burnout and parental sets, the attitude of spouses to the family role and family functions have been revealed in the sample of mothers. It has been found out that in both samples the level of "emotional exhaustion" is interrelated with the parental predisposition to excessive strictness towards the child. However, the emotional exhaustion of mothers is more mediated by their dependence on the family and low self-assessment as a parent, whereas fathers’ burnout is due to the focus on the child and the desire to accelerate their development. The level of "depersonalization" in the sample of mothers correlates with the level of their concentration on the child, the consistency of family functions ("emotional and psychotherapeutic", "social activity", "physical attractiveness of the partner"), and marital satisfaction. In the sample of fathers, it correlates with the scales related to the sphere of marital relations (physical attractiveness of the partner, the degree of the father’s involvement in family affairs and marital satisfaction). The degree of the "parental achievements reduction" in the sample of mothers is associated with the balance of "intimacyseparateness" or its lack in the family system; in the sample of fathers it is connected with the availability or lack of verbal contact with the child and the father's acceptance of the child’s natural development. The applied aspect of the problem under study consists of the possibility of using the results in the practice of advisory services.

The aim of the study was to explore the relationship between the meaningfulness of life and the career plans of an individual in the professional and family spheres at the age stage of emerging adulthood. A family career represents a sequential change in conventional family role positions and the development of relevant competencies in accordance with the life cycle of the family and self-determination of the individual. We used the test of meaningful life orientations and the author's questionnaire of family and professional careers. The sample consisted of 167 students aged 17-22. The results allowed us to identify three groups of respondents, differing in the level of meaningfulness of life. It was found that a high level of life meaningfulness is combined with a certainty of career plans in the sphere of family and profession and a high level of their consistency. Respondents with a low level of meaningfulness in life are characterized by an insufficient balance of professional and family career plans. Orientation towards a professional career with insufficient attention to life plans in the family sphere is combined with an external locus of control.

Parentification is a form of distorted division of roles and responsibilities in the family where the roles of parent and child are reversed. A situation that goes beyond the child’s capabilities and exhausts resources usually yields numerous negative consequences. Nevertheless, in some circumstances, parentification may be beneficial by shaping resiliency. The main aim of the study was to examine the relations between parentification characteristics and resiliency. There were 208 adolescents (Mage = 14.55; SDage = 1.00) who participated in the study. Resiliency was evaluated using the Polish Scale for Children and Adolescents SPP-18. Parentification level was measured with the polish Parentification Questionnaire for Youth. The analyses revealed significant relations between parentification and resiliency dimensions. The relations were different based on the participant’s gender. The obtained results underline the role of resiliency in shaping the perception of family role dysfunctions such as parentification.

IL6-like cytokines are a family of regulators with a complex, pleiotropic role in both the healthy organism, where they regulate immunity and homeostasis, and in different diseases, including cancer. Here we summarise how these cytokines exert their effect through the shared signal transducer IL6ST (gp130) and we review the extensive evidence on the role that different members of this family play in breast cancer. Additionally, we discuss how the different cytokines, their related receptors and downstream effectors, as well as specific polymorphisms in these molecules, can serve as predictive or prognostic biomarkers with the potential for clinical application in breast cancer. Lastly, we also discuss how our increasing understanding of this complex signalling axis presents promising opportunities for the development or repurposing of therapeutic strategies against cancer and, specifically, breast neoplasms.

Background:The growing prevalence of severe cognitive impairment in populations, the involvement of a significant number of people of working age in the medical, economic, psychological and social problems associated with late dementia, the insufficiency and inconsistency of information about the mechanisms of formation of these disorders actualize a comprehensive medical and social study of dementia. The goal is to study the psychosocial mechanisms of the formation of clinical, functional disorders in dementia, to develop comprehensive medical and psychosocial programs to help patients with dementia and those involved in caring for them, based on the proposals of the psychosocial model of dementia. Methods:A selective observational comparative dynamic study of 315 people with Alzheimer’s dementia and 214 people who care for the patients was carried out. The study used clinical, clinical, psychopathological, neuropsychological, psychometric, sociometric, and statistical research methods. Results:An increase in the severity of dementia contributes to a significant (p <0.05) increase in the number of patients in a dependent position in the family. The appearance of psychotic (painful ideas [r = 0.589]), behavioral (agitation/aggression [r = 0.654]), affective (anxiety [r = 0.536], unstable mood/irritability [r = 0.581]) symptoms of dementia contribute to family role changes structure and increase interpersonal distance in the dyad “caretaker - patient.” Decreased functional activity of the patient (r = 0.758), development of behavioral disorders (aberrant behavior [r = 0.675], agitation/aggression [r = 0.713], impaired night behavior [r = 0.597]), affective symptoms (anxiety [r = 0.685]) contribute to aggravation of the distress of the caregiver. Those who provide unprofessional care for dementia patients in a statistically significant (p <0.05) majority of cases have a high level of emotional involvement in the care process. Changes in family-role and social parameters, a high level of “expressed” emotions of caregivers have an adverse effect on the development of psychotic (r = 0.618), affective (r = 0.701), behavioral (r = 0.837) dementia disorders. The degree of adherence to anti- dementia therapy by the caregiver is one of the important factors determining the amount of care received by the patient (r = 0.698). Agitation/aggression (r = 0.761), anxiety (r = 0.562), sleep disturbances (r = 0.521) contribute to increased compliance. The low satisfaction of the caregiver with premorbid (r = 0.698) and current (r = 0.653) relationships with the patient leads to a decrease in the compliance of the caregiver. Conclusion:It was revealed that the formation of cognitive impairment is caused by biological factors, their severity depends on the severity of dementia. The mechanism of psychopathological symptoms, functional disorders is heterogeneous, depending on the biological causes and psychosocial conditions of functioning of patients.
