This research suggests optimal planning and designing techniques for tourism complexes in urban master planning. Firstly, it explains the importance of the tourism industry through the theories of scholars and experts. It also emphasizes the connection between the development of urban economies and the tourism industry. This helps integrate the tourism industry and comprehensive regional/urban planning. It starts with planning and designing the tourism complexes in the early stages of the municipality’s master plan. This research paper suggests urban land-use policies and location techniques. This paper brings out land-use policies and centralized and symmetric urban design models for regional/urban sustainable development. It charts the following steps to meet the goal: determining a location for a tourism complex, setting a spatial table of required construction, preparing a land-use map, preparing a map album, developing investment and construction contracts. This paper assists civil engineers, urban and regional planners, tourism industry bodies, and students to develop rationally and optimally.

This research paper is to analyze the planning and design techniques of the tourism complexes in the process of municipalities’ master planning. Then, it emphasizes the link between the economic developments of cities/regions with the development of the tourism industry. The innovation of this work is to integrate tourism industry planning and comprehensive regional/ urban planning. The main way of doing this is to plan and design the tourism complexes in the early stages of the master planning of the municipality. Urban land-use policies and locating techniques are suggested through this research. Land-use policies and new urban design models for the regional/urban sustainable development are some of the other handouts in this paper. The outcome of this research is good assistance for engineers, planners, and students of urban and regional development.

This research incorporates new forms of analysis for urban planning and development in Ciudad Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua (Mexico), providing elements of reference by identifying areas with potentiality and limitations for urban land use, as well as for agricultural and conservation activities. The general objective was to identify the main conflicts between land uses and coverages to determine the areas of greatest territorial suitability for the city's growth. For this purpose, the Land Use Conflict Identification Strategy (LUCIS) model was used to understand the spatial significance of the status of land use policies, including likely urban patterns associated with agricultural and conservation trends. In the case study, a total of 149,139 inhabitants are estimated for the year 2030, which represents the need for an additional 392.42 hectares to accommodate the population growth. For that of the 16,272.21 hectares that has the population limit, 38 % were allocated to the category of agriculture, 11.95% to conservation soils and 49.67% to urban land (including the existing urban area). There is a significant portion of the area that is in conflict between the different land uses. It concludes, that the integration of a conflict resolution model for land use and land cover represents a practical solution that contributes to the improvement of processes of urban development planning.

Abstract This paper aims to present the planning and design of Roi Et provincial government center master plan according to the land use readjustment theoretical framework in the urban design process. This approach maintains the basis that the uniqueness of the original area should be maintained, and the effectiveness of the area application should be increased, and thereby increasing the efficiency of space utilization. The results of the study include, respectively, the scoping of the study area, the investigation of the existing land uses and accessibility, and the readjusting the land uses with the concept of mix-use planning. Moreover, it is suggested that there should be further studies about the architectural styles showing the uniqueness of Roi Et city, water management for watering plants, and planting design of local species.

Background:Although a number of environmental and policy interventions to promote physical activity are being widely used, there is sparse systematic information on the most effective approaches to guide population-wide interventions.Methods:We reviewed studies that addressed the following environmental and policy strategies to promote physical activity: community-scale urban design and land use policies and practices to increase physical activity; street-scale urban design and land use policies to increase physical activity; and transportation and travel policies and practices. These systematic reviews were based on the methods of the independent Task Force on Community Preventive Services. Exposure variables were classified according to the types of infrastructures/policies present in each study. Measures of physical activity behavior were used to assess effectiveness.Results:Two interventions were effective in promoting physical activity (community-scale and street-scale urban design and land use policies and practices). Additional information about applicability, other effects, and barriers to implementation are provided for these interventions. Evidence is insufficient to assess transportation policy and practices to promote physical activity.Conclusions:Because community- and street-scale urban design and land-use policies and practices met the Community Guide criteria for being effective physical activity interventions, implementing these policies and practices at the community-level should be a priority of public health practitioners and community decision makers.

The disorderly expansion of urban built-up land is a global issue. It is of great significance to guide urban land use scientifically through the analysis of geographical features to identify the mechanisms that underlie differences in urban built-up land expansion. We selected Changsha and Zhengzhou in China, whose built-up areas during the initial period of study had different natural geographical features, but similar human geographical features, and systematically explored the development and evolution characteristics of the natural and human geographical features from 1990 to 2010 using a landscape metrics analysis and an urban built-up land intensive use analysis. We found that (1) although human beings have a strong ability to transform nature, they have to rely on the natural endowment of the land to develop the cities and, thus, have formed different landscape patterns and levels of urban built-up land intensive use; (2) in places where the natural geographical features are more restrictive, land-use policy-makers are more cautious in their decision-making, which more closely links the land-use policies and human geographical features, thereby simultaneously increasing the degree of intensive built-up land use and reducing the number of problems that arise from urban built-up land expansion. This research can provide a reference for the development of policies for urban built-up land use in Changsha and Zhengzhou. It also can provide ideas for how to implement different built-up land management policies for other cities with different natural and human geographical features.
