Job disengagement among physical education teachers: insights from a cross-sectional web survey with path modeling analysis (Preprint)

BACKGROUND Physical education teachers often experience stress and job disengagement. OBJECTIVE This study aims to develop a measurement scale of job disengagement among physical education teachers and to present an explanatory model by presenting the mediating role of perceived stress as a major factor in disengagement and job satisfaction, also the relationship between family and work as an indirect effect for this phenomenon. METHODS A total of 268 primary and secondary school physical education teachers, made up of 165 men (54.46%) and 138 women (45.54%) participated voluntarily in our study. The measuring instruments are the work disengagement scale, the Perceived stress scale, the Work-family conflict scale (WFC), the family-work conflict scale (FWC), and the scale of dissatisfaction at work. RESULTS the Arabic language versions of the WFC and the FWC had reasonably adequate psychometric properties which were justified by confirmatory analyzes and by the measurement of reliability, convergent and discriminant validity through the measurement model in SmartPls. Likewise, the structural model established with the SmartPLS software confirmed strong links of the concepts FWC, WFCS, the questionnaire of job satisfaction, the perceived stress with the disengagement of work among teachers of physical education. CONCLUSIONS There is a growing interest in helping teachers cope with the daily pressures of work and family. A positive organizational context is a context with clear values regarding work priorities that constitutes the basis of a feeling of shared responsibility and professional support.Good conditions can act as protective factors reducing work stress and positively influencing personal well-being, work attitudes, work commitment, and professional efficiency. Additional teacher research is needed to examine the relationship between perceived work stress and the role of families, also the extent to which this association can have a significant impact on teachers' commitment to work.

The present study examined the relationship between work stress and a specific aspect of marital functioning, namely, marital interaction. An interactionist model of stress was adopted, with three role stresses, namely, role ambiguity, role conflict and role overload, being used as indicators of work stress. Despite the abundance of studies investigating the link between employment and family functioning over the past decade, the causal link between the two domains remains unclear. As previous research has indicated that the relationship between work and family is neither simple nor linear, the present study aimed to investigate the role of job satisfaction in the relationship. The final sample of the study consisted of 80 married men employed in a large financial organization. Data were gathered in the form of self-report questionnaires. Statistical analysis, using a longitudinal path analytic research design, did not support the proposed mediational model, that is, job satisfaction was not found to mediate the relationship between work stress and marital functioning.

<span><em>This study aims to explain the influence of the Social Security </em><span><em>program on performance and job satisfaction and job stress as a mediating </em><span><em>variable. In addition, this study also describes the effect of job satisfaction on </em><span><em>the performance and the effect of work stress on performance. The relationship of </em><span><em>each variable in this research is to be measured by conducting a survey on 145 </em><span><em>employees of private companies that included in Social Security program on </em><span><em>DIY and Solo. Then the path analisys used to test the effect of social security </em><span><em>program performance in mediation by job satisfaction, performance and job stress</em><span><em>, job satisfaction, and examines the effect on the performance and the effect of </em><span><em>work stress on performance. The results showed that the social security program </em><span><em>significant positively affects job satisfaction and performance. Job satisfaction was </em><span><em>also positively and significantly affect performance. Even though mediating role </em><span><em>of job satisfaction in the relationship between social security program performance </em><span><em>partial. Because merely direct relationship between social security program with </em><span><em>greater performance than the mediating role of job satisfaction. Social Security </em><span><em>program did not significantly affect the stress of work, as well as job stress did </em><span><em>not significantly affect performance. Therefore, the mediating role of work stress </em><span><em>on the relationship between social security program with the performance did not </em><span><em>occur. Objective – This study investigates the mediation role of job satisfaction in the relationship between work stress and turnover intention. A study about turnover intention in the textile company is still rarely done in Indonesia. This study can fill the gap regarding the topic. Methodology/Technique – A nonprobability sampling method with an accidental sampling technique was used, and we get 110 usable responses from a textile company in West Java, Indonesia. Macro Process with SPSS was used to measure the regression and the mediation. Findings – The study found that work stress has a negative effect on job satisfaction. Work stress significantly related to turnover intention in a positive direction. Job satisfaction did not have a significant relation with turnover intention. Thus, in this study, we found no mediation role in job satisfaction. Novelty – Evidently, work stress solely took part in shaping the turnover intention. Type of Paper: Empirical. The Relationship of Management Style and Job Satisfaction among PE TeachersThe present study was conducted with the purpose of determining the relationship between management style of physical education responsibilities with job satisfaction of sport teachers and determination of the relationship between transformational and transactional leadership of physical education authorities with job satisfaction of sport instructors.After recognition of relationships between management style and leadership with job satisfaction, a step is taken towards recognition of effective factors for improvement of organization; therefore, such research is considered as optimized and appropriate solutions for recognition of the management and organization's problems and difficulties, for presenting guidance.This study is based on the opinions of 181 male and female physical education teachers from five districts of the education and instruction department of Esfahan, in which the type of management style of physical education authorities of all five districts of education and instruction of Esfahan and job-satisfaction of the teacher were evaluated through two questionnaires, the confidentiality of which was computed via Cronbach's alpha-coefficient.Results of the study showed that the relationship between management style and leadership of physical education authorities and sport teachers' job-satisfaction with P<0.01 level has been positive and significant. Also, the relationship between transformational and transactional management style of physical education authorities and job-satisfaction of teachers with p<0.01 level has been positive and significant too. Amongst other results of this study with regard to e.g. sex, age, marital status, field of education, educational degree, and previous work-record of P.E teachers and their job-satisfaction, the relationship for those with p<0.01 level has not been significant.

Physical education is a space in which adolescents may become the victims or perpetrators of bullying. The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between being a victim or perpetrator of physical, verbal, or social bullying in physical education, and peer support, gender, weight status, and age. The sample consisted of 2, 848 adolescents (1, 512 girls and 1, 336 boys) aged 14–16 from Poland. The participants’ body mass index was determined based on their measured height and weight. The Health Behaviour in School-Aged Children questionnaire was used to assess whether the participants were victims or perpetrators of bullying. Peer support during physical education was assessed using the modified Teacher and Classmate Support Scale. The analysis of logistic regressions revealed that low peer support increased the probability of being the victim of physical, verbal, and social bullying (odds ratio [ OR], 1.58–2.91) and becoming a perpetrator of bullying ( OR, 1.14–1.37) in physical education. Additionally, being overweight increased the likelihood of being a verbal victim ( OR, 1.39) and being obese raised the probability of becoming social victim ( OR, 1.60). Boys more often experienced ( OR, 1.12–2.06) and caused bullying ( OR, 1.25–1.89) than girls. Moreover, victims were mainly younger (14-year-old) students ( OR, 1.16–1.21), while perpetrators were more often older (15- and 16-year-old) adolescents ( OR, 1.12–1.20). This research indicated that peer support can play a key role in preventing bullying in physical education. Physical education teachers should pay special attention to unpopular and rejected students because they most often become the victims and perpetrators of bullying. Creating a climate that fosters the development of high peer support might protect adolescents from becoming a victim—and a perpetrator—of bullying in physical education.

This study aims to determine the relationship of work stress and workload with job satisfactionand also know the role of work stress in mediating the relationship of workload with job satisfaction. The population in this study were all employees of the paramedics BRI branch of Gajah Mada Denpasar, amounting to 90 employees. The analys technique uses multiple linear regression analysis. The result of the analysis show that workload has a negative and significant effect on job satisfaction. Jobstress has a negative and significant effect on job satisfaction. Workload has a positive and significan effect on work stress. The results of this study also indicate that work stres is not considered to mediate the relationship between workload and employee job satisfaction. The bank should pay attention again to the communication that is established within the company, the time given to carry out additional tasks every day more attention so that employees do not feel drained at the time of doing work given, the bank should continue to maintain the health standards that have been enforced in the bank.
