Abstract This study was conducted in Kaffa, Bench Maji and Sheka zones with the objective of assessing livestock feed processing and storage mechanisms in South West Ethiopia. Purposive sampling technique was used to select study districts based on livestock population, accessibility and availability of feed resources. A total of 384 households having a minimum one hectare of land and livestock were randomly selected for interview. The mean total number of cattle in the study area was 8.48+6.79 per households. Majority of the respondents could not practice livestock feed processing and storage mechanisms in dry and wet season in the study area. The bases for feed provision for livestock in the study area were production level, work load and availability of feed ingredients. Different plants parts were used for livestock to increase milk yield, to improve growth rate and to treat diseases. Livestock production was lowest in dry season due to lack of feed shortage in the dry season. Due to this conclusion, government office should give training how to process and store feeds for dry season.

The job profile of police officers places exceptional demands on them leading to risks to life, personal discomfort and stress. This article aims to examine how the physical and emotional well-being of police personnel is affected by their perceived quality of work life (QWL). The study looked at the questionnaire responses of 234 police personnel. Emotional well-being is measured as the absence of depression, emotional hyperactivity, difficulty relaxing, irritability and anxiety, whereas physical well-being is measured as the presence of diabetes, thyroid problems, insomnia and obesity. The study assessed police perceptions of QWL as provided by the government. The study findings are segregated for QWL on the basis of dominant ill-being and dominant well-being. Factors such as career and development, working environment, safety, work load, compensation and fear of punishment should be carefully analysed and improved. Some 71.8% of the respondents suffered from two or more emotional ailments; 70% suffered from two or more physical ailments. Findings suggest that QWL dimensions that fall within dominant ill-being need to be addressed immediately by policy makers and management to improve police well-being.

Abstract Introduction: Even though the Pelvic organ prolapse (POP) is outstanding gynecologic problem, most private and asymptomatic nature of the illness makes it the “hidden epidemic.” The aim of this study was to identify the determinants of POP. Methods: Facility based unmatched case control study was conducted from June 15 to September 10, 2020. All cases diagnosed with POP were enrolled in the study by using consecutive random sampling method by assuming that patient flow by itself is random until the required sample size was obtained. Then 1:2 cases to control ratio was applied. A structured interviewer-administered questionnaire and chart review for type and degree of prolapse was used. Epi-data and SPSS were used for analysis. Chi square test and binary and multivariable logistic regression analysis was employed. Multicolinearity was checked. Result: On multivariate logistic regression, heavy usual work load(AOR=2.3, CI(1.066-4.951), number of pregnancy ≥ 5(AOR=3.911, CI(1.108-13.802), birth space of <2 years(AOR=2.88, CI(1.146-7.232), history of fundal pressure (AOR=5.312, CI(2.366-11.927) and history of induced labor (AOR=4.436, CI(2.07-9.505) were significantly associated with POP with P value <0.05 and 95% CI after adjusting for potential confounders. Conclusion: Heavy usual work load, having pregnancy greater than five, short birth space, history of induced labor, and history of fundal pressure are independent predictors of pelvic organ prolapse. Hence the responsible body and obstetric care providers should counsel the women about child spacing. The obstetric care providers also avoid fundal pressure and the hospital officials set a law to ban fundal pressure during labor.

Work-Life Balance (WLB) is a situation where a person manages to balance work, family life and other responsibilities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, which began by the end of 2019, many companies have implemented a Work from Home (WFH) policy that allows a worker to spend all his time at home and with a relatively light workload.  The workforce today onward will be dominated by employees from generation X, namely people aged between 45 to 56 years and people from generation Y, who are 27-44 years of age.  Each generation has its own characteristics of how they work and respond to work situations. This research was conducted in an effort to determine the impact of WFH and workload on Generation X and Generation Y.  The population in this study were generation X and Y in Malang City, who had carried out WFH.   Using the Slovin formula, the samples were 228 male and 178 female workers of Generation X and Generation Y.  The results of this study indicated that WFH did not significantly affect the WLB of Generation X and Generation Y while workload had a significant effect on the WLB of Generation X and Generation Y.

Background: The incidence of low back pain in Indonesia is still relatively high with an injury prevalence of 6.5%. One of the contributor of the high incidence rate is caused by occupational factors such as works that are repetitive in nature, that imposes forced power, and static work. One of the job that poses this risk is batik craftsmen. It is estimated that there are 15.000 batik craftsmen who are actively working in Central Java Province. The aim of  study was to determine association between individual factors and incidence of low back pain in batik craftsman. Methods: This study is a quantitative study with cross-sectional design, conducted in February 2021 in Central Sokaraja Village. Sample collection was carried out with total sampling method with a total sample of 60 respondents. Data analysis technique used in this study was Chi square test Results: The result of Chi square test showed that there is a significant association between work period and low back pain (p=0.001), there is a significant association between sitting duration and low back pain (p=0.028), there is a significant association between work load and low back pain (p=0.002), there is no significant association between gender and low back pain (p=0.081), there is no significant association between age and low back pain (p=0.632), and there is no significant association between body mass index and low back pain (p=0.807). From multivariate analysis, it was found that there is a significant association between work period and low back pain (p=0.026). Conclusion: There is a significant association between work period, sitting duration, and work load with low back pain, while there is no significant association between age, gender and body mass index (BMI) with low back pain.

Introduction. Today’s crisis and stress conditions increase the number of cases of PTSD diagnosis and associated symptoms. Since mental health specialists are key workers in providing assistance in this context, they are now experiencing more intense mental work load than ever before. The personal characteristics of specialists and the occupational risks associated with empathic contact with patients who have experienced a traumatic event pose a certain danger to specialists and require special research attention. In this context, the need to prepare appropriate protocols, psychotechnologies and models of psychotherapeutic work to restore and develop resilience is highlighted. Aim. The purpose of the article is to describe the main standpoints of the created psychotechnology of the development of resilience of mental health specialists and operationalization of its practical part, namely a model of psychotherapeutic assistance to mental health specialists for the development of resilience. Results. The created psychotechnology for the development of resilience of mental health specialists contains developed theoretical, diagnostic and psychotherapeutic stages. The psychotherapeutic stage of psychotechnology of resilience of mental health specialists is created taking into account specific intervention strategies, principles of process organization and means (methods and techniques) that ensure the process of resilience development and is presented as a model of psychotherapeutic assistance to mental health specialists to develop resilience. The operationalization of the model allowed one to form the following scheme of strategic direction of psychotherapeutic assistance: resource vector <=> in-depth vector => behavioral vector. Each vector is provided with appropriate methods and techniques that help solve the problem of resilience development, as well as improve post-traumatic growth. Conclusions. The model of psychotherapeutic work for the development of resilience of mental health specialists, based on an integrative approach using multimodal interventions, is proposed. The initial approbation of the model allowed to determine the scheme of strategic direction of psychotherapeutic interventions, «portrait of a resilient specialist», as well as important aspects for its further improvement.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus has significantly influenced the functioning of Polish hospitals, and thus, the working conditions of nurses. Research on the presence of specific negative emotions in nurses may help identify deficits in the future, as well as directing preventive actions. The present research was performed among nurses (n = 158) working in Polish healthcare facilities during the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, where Group A (n = 79) consisted of nurses diagnosed with COVID-19, and Group B (n = 79) nurses who have never been infected with COVID-19. To perform the research, the Courtauld Emotional Control Scale (CECS), Trait Anxiety Scale (Polish: SL-C) and the authors’ survey questionnaire were used. A positive test result was generally determined more often among nurses who indicated a noninfectious ward as their main workplace, compared to nurses employed in infectious wards (64.55% positive vs 33.45% negative). Over a half of the subjects identified moderate levels of emotion suppression as the method to regulate strong emotions, while one-quarter cited high levels of suppression. Anxiety was suppressed at high and moderate levels by 97% of the subjects, depression by 86.71%, and anger by 79.48%. Infection with COVID-19 results in a higher level of anxiety and depression, as well as a feeling of increased work load.

Abstract Background The professional demands on the expertise in pediatric intensive care have continuously increased in recent years. Due to a lack of applicants, the staffing of a continuous shift service with qualified medical staff poses major challenges to the hospitals. Methods A web-based questionnaire with 27 predominantly matrix questions on working conditions and motivation for working in this area was sent to pediatric hospitals throughout Germany. Results 165 doctors responded to the survey. The average age of the participants was 35.2 years. The average weekend work load reported by 79% of the respondents was 2 weekends per month, 70% of the study participants performed five to seven night shifts per month. 92% of the respondents stated that they basically enjoyed working in the intensive care unit (ICU). When asked to prioritize the working conditions, an appreciative working atmosphere in the team was named as priority 1 by 57%, followed by good guidance in the independent performance of interventions (25%) and good working conditions (19%). Discussion The survey result shows that neither aspects of work–life balance nor payments are the key issues selecting the interesting, but physically and emotionally demanding job in pediatric ICU. Conclusion When evaluating vocational training in pediatric intensive care medicine, the immediate working atmosphere in the team with mutual respect and understanding and the guidance in training are more important than the general conditions.

This study aims to determine the Effect of Workload, Competence and Compensation on Employee Performance at Excelton Hotel Palembang. The data used in this study are primary and secondary data, with data collection techniques carried out through questionnaire distribution to 68 employees of the Excelton Hotel Palembang. The analysis technique used is multiple linear analysis techniques that are processed using the help of the computer program Statistics Product and Service Soulution (SPSS 22). From the results of the study there is a positive and significant influence of Workload, Competence and Compensation on Employee Performance at the Excelton Hotel Palembang, which is indicated by the Regression model = 38.016 + 0.850X1 + 0.427X2 + 0.657X3 + e. Simultaneous correlation between the Work Load independent variable (X1), Competency independent variable (X2), Compensation independent variable (X3) to Work Performance dependent variable (Y) equals 0.724 means that there is a strong and positive directional relationship. Partial correlation of Workload (X1) to Work Achievement (Y) equals 0.562 means that there is a fairly strong and positive relationship in the same direction, partial correlation of Competence (X2) to Work Achievement (Y) equals 0.581 means that there is a strong enough relationship and positive direction, partial correlation Compensation (X3) to Job Performance (Y) equals 0.613 means that there is a strong and positive directional relationship. This can be seen from the large coefficient of determination which is quite strong at 50.8% so there are still 49.8% of variables that cannot be examined. From the results of data conducted by researchers known Workload (X1), Competence (X2), Compensation (X3) significantly influence Work Performance (Y) of Excelton Hotel Palembang Employees with a calculated F value of 23,480 and a significant probability of 0.00 <0, 05. Workload (X1) has a significant effect on Work Performance (Y) with a calculated T value of 3.496 and a significant probability of 0.001 <0.05. Competence (X2) has a significant effect on Job Performance (Y) with a calculated T value of 2.033 and a significant probability of 0.04 <0.05. Compensation (X3) has a significant effect on Job Performance (Y) with a calculated T value of 2.776 and a significant probability of 0.007 <0.05.
