In this paper we have analyzed 228 job announcements for the recruitment of managers within two online recruitment platforms most often used in Romania, named Ejobs and Indeed, regarding two important aspects: 1) recruitment of managers depending on management experience or formal management education and 2) recruitment of management graduates. The main objective is to describe the degree the practice of recruitment of managers takes into consideration the scientific advances in the management field and the formal management education. Through the mean of an archival data analysis research strategy, we found that for the recruitment of managers the companies asked almost exclusively for experience (91.2%). The companies in our sample almost did not require the management education. Only in ten announcements the recruiters asked for a formal management educational degree. Moreover, only half of companies asked for management experience (56.1%). Technical (39.4%), industry (25.2%) and working experience (7.7%) are the other types of experience valued by the recruiters. Most companies asked for management abilities, in addition to experience, however (e.g influence), but they did not require that these abilities to be formed during a formal educational program. The future manager only should possess these abilities acquired from somewhere. The paper aims to contribute to the academic debate regarding the criteria used by companies to hire managers. In addition, the paper has a strong practical orientation aiming at improving the recruitment practice of managers and equipping the companies and organizations with management teams with adequate managerial knowledge, abilities, and competences.

Introduction: A lot of research in diverse languages has tried to scrutinize the impact of canonicity upon the performance of patients with Alzheimer's disease. Regarding the gap in the Persian setting, this study tried to delve into the nature of this deficit in patients with Alzheimer. Materials and Methods: This is a case series study, and our subjects included 2 Persian- speaking monolingual patients with Alzheimer and 5 healthy elderly individuals matched with each other according to parameters like educational degree, vernacular tongue, and homeland. The categories to be tested included subject agentive, subject experiencer, object experiencer, and object cleft constructions. Results: The results of the sentence completion task demonstrated that problems would emerge when patients with Alzheimer try to comprehend the syntactic structures belonged to 2, 3, and 4 categories. Conclusion: Our findings would demonstrate that patients with Alzheimer have many challenges when trying to map syntactic representation  onto semantic realization. This type of deficit escalates when patients attempt to assign thematic roles to psychological predicates. As for the clinical implication of the research, it was recommended that the type of structures utilized by neuropsychiatrists for the communicative purpose be chosen from utterances that are in line with the mapping strategy.

The article considers the prerequisites for the inclusion of problems with elements of probability theory in mathematics education in grades 1-4. This type of task is generally not present in the compulsory curriculum in mathematics in primary school, but they could be used in classes for compulsory, extended, and additional training, thus creating conditions for implementing developmental learning. Some theoretical statements about the theory of probabilities are systematized, related to the tasks included in the constructed and approbated methodological system of work. Some of its characteristics are presented. This article offers some of the tasks for grades 1-4. A longitudinal empirical study was conducted with students of the 1-4th grade in the period 2015 to 2020. The results of the outgoing diagnostics in 4th grade are processed by mathematical and statistical methods and are presented graphically. They show that fourth-graders successfully solve problems with elements of probability theory, and a primary school teacher could use them in the systematic work in mathematics at the initial stage of the basic educational degree. Solving non-standard mathematical problems is an element of probability theory that helps arouse interest, motivate students, and place them in an active cognitive position by solving problem situations in the pedagogical interaction in mathematics in primary school.

AbstractIn this paper I analyze changes in the wage distribution in the Netherlands. I use a matched employer-employee dataset that covers the population of employees. Wage inequality increases over the period of 2001–2016. Changes in between-firm wage components are responsible for nearly the entire increase. Increases in the variance of workers’ skills and increases in worker sorting and worker segregation explain the majority of the rise in the variance of wages. These changes are accompanied by a pattern where variation in educational degree and firm average wages become more correlated over time. Finally, it is suggested that labor market institutions in the Netherlands play an important role in mediating overall wage inequality.

With the rapid pace of technological advancements, public health professions require a core set of informatics skills. The objective of the study is to integrate informatics competencies and job analysis to guide development of an evidence-based curriculum framework and apply it towards creation of a population health informatics program. We conducted content analysis of the Population Health Informatics related job postings in the state of New York between June and July 2019 using the Indeed job board. The search terms included “health informatics” and “population health informatics.” The initial search yielded 496 job postings. After removal of duplicates, inactive postings and that did not include details of the positions’ responsibilities resulted in 306 jobs. Information recorded from the publicly available job postings included job categories, type of hiring organization, educational degree preferred and required, work experience preferred and required, salary information, job type, job location, associated knowledge, skills and expertise and software skills. Most common job titles were characterized as analyst (21%, n=65). More than one-third of the hiring organizations for these jobs were health systems (35%, n=106). Almost 100% (n=291) of the jobs were fulltime. Nearly half of the jobs were based in New York (47%, n=143). Data/statistical analysis (68%, n=207), working in multidisciplinary teams (35%, n=108), and biomedical/clinical experience (30%, n=93) were common skills needed. Structured query language (SQL), Python, and R language were common programming language skills. The proposed framework guides development of a 39-credit fully online population health informatics curriculum in a rapidly changing technological environment.

Teacher quality and student achievement have shown positive relationships in prior studies of elementary and secondary grade levels in the United States. However, postsecondary career and technical education (CTE) teacher quality and student achievement is an understudied topic. According to the literature, teacher quality is measured by pedagogical knowledge, level of education, and professional development. For postsecondary CTE teachers, occupational experience is a hiring requirement for teacher quality. Student achievement is measured by test scores and graduation rates. Postsecondary career certificate programs usually have a summative evaluation with an industry-specific certification test, which assesses the student's employability in the program's field of study by industry standards. The purpose of this retrospective causal-comparative study was to examine the relationship between postsecondary CTE teacher quality and student achievement in Florida's career certificate programs. An online survey was conducted with 203 postsecondary CTE teachers in Florida. Findings revealed a statistically significant positive relationship between the level of pedagogical knowledge and educational degree attainment of postsecondary CTE teachers and students' passing an industry certification test. This finding is consistent with prior studies in K-12 grade levels. Recommendations include increasing the pedagogical knowledge and educational degree attainment of postsecondary CTE teachers to improve student learning outcomes.
