<p class="Abstract"><em>The Quality of Work life (QWL) is the employees’ feeling or perception of being comfortable with their work. The objective of the present study was to compare Quality of School Work Life (QSWL) of public school teachers from Turkey and Pakistan. A QSWL scale developed by Ilgan, Ata, Zepeda and Ozu-Cengiz (2014) having 30 items was used as the research instrument. The sample included 995 Turkish teachers (from 8 cities) and 716 Pakistani teachers (from 5 cities of Punjab). Reliability coefficient of QSWL scale was 0.81. Further, five subscales within the QSWL tools were identified through its exploratory factor analysis. On all these 5 subscales of QSWL (when analysed separately), Turkish and Pakistani teachers differed significantly in their perceptions; however, they were found appreciating similar QSWL in the aggregate analyses. In detailed analyses of various subgroups only female teachers from Pakistan were found better on QSWL than their Turkish counterparts. </em></p>

Background: School nurses play a crucial role in the provision of comprehensive health services to the school population. A balanced quality of work life (QWL) with favorable conditions that support and uphold employee satisfaction is imperative for school nurses to maximize their provision of care for their clientele. Among the many nursing specialties, research among school nurses is not given much attention.Purpose: This study aimed to determine the QWL of public school nurses in the Philippines.Methods: This study utilized a descriptive correlational research design with 57 public school nurses as study participants. Self-reported data were gathered utilizing Walton’s QWL scale. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal-Wallis test, and Spearman–rank correlation coefficient. Results: Results indicated that public school nurses had high QWL (M=4.16). Among the eight subscales, opportunities at work (M=4.04) and social integration at work (M=4.03) had the lowest mean scores. There were no significant differences in the QWL according to sex (p=0.929), marital status (p=0.326), educational attainment (p=0.391) and length of work experience (p=0.059), while there was a significant relationship between age (p=0.005) and QWL of public school nurses.Conclusion: Public school nurses generally have a high QWL. Nevertheless, to further improve their QWL, it is recommended that public school nurses must be provided with more chances for continuous professional growth and opportunities for better social integration.

Purpose of the study: Quality of work life (QWL) is vital for all establishments to continue to hire and retain high-performance workers. However, from the review of previous literature on QWL, little is known about the dimensions that constitute high QWL among academics. Therefore, this study aimed at contributing to the literature by conducting a detailed validation of seven dimensions of QWL through the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) procedure. Methodology: This study employed a cross-sectional research design to establish reliable measures for the QWL construct. The items were adapted and modified to suit this study. Study data was obtained using a structured questionnaire from 100 randomly selected academics from the five Malaysian research universities. The study further conducted the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) procedure using IBM-SPSS version 21.0. Main Findings: A total of 51 items were initially developed to measure QWL construct, however, from the EFA procedure, the study found that 8 items with factor loading below the cut-off point of .60 were deleted and 48 items with a factor loading above the cut-off point of .60 were retained and deemed suitable to measure the QWL construct. Applications of this study: This study validated the dimensions that lead to improved QWL. Therefore, this study is particularly useful to the Malaysian universities' management who aim to obtain benefits from super motivated and high-performance academics by making sure that the workers' overall well-being is protected in the workplace. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study established a validated and reliable instrument for measuring the QWL construct among academics in the Malaysian research universities.

Changing societies and economies pose novel challenges to the lives and work of secondary school teachers. These challenges affect them in various levels which include their personal, professional and aspirations in life. In the literature, this is understood as the condition of their Quality of Work-Life (QWL). The objectiveof this study is to examine the essential relationship of QWL and aspirations of secondary school teachers through a descriptive-correlation research design. The study conducted a survey which involved 118 respondents which represent 92 percent response rate. As regards aspirations, the results show that although respondents oftentimes experienced from moderate to high level of aspirations, the overall rating was high. The highest is in self-acceptance, which indicates that the most important aspirations for the respondents are to accept one’s self, having a meaningful life and effectively handle one’s self amidst problems. As for QWL, the respondents oftentimes perceived and experienced a high level of QWL. The highest is in social relevance of work, which indicates that respondents find their job to be challenging, rewarding and meaningful. In conclusion, the correlation analysis shows that there exist a significant relationship between QWL and Aspirations,which results to the rejection of the null hypothesis of this study.Keywords: Human resources management, quality of work-life, level of aspiration, secondary school teachers, Davao del Sur, Philippines

The problem in this research is the unimmunity of teacher performance of SD Negeri in Mejobo District Kudus Regency. The purpose of this study is to analyze and to know the influence of Islamic Leadership on Teacher Performance through Teacher Competence and Quality of Work Life of Elementary School Teachers. The population of this research is all elementary school teachers from 3 villages in Mejobo District Kudus Regency as many as 129 people. This study used 100 teachers as a sample with Purposive Random Sampling. Datas were obtained from questionnaires and interviews. Data analysis using SPSS 16.0 and Eviews 9. The result of this research is Islamic Leadership, Teacher Competence, and Quality of Work Life positively influence to Teacher Performance. Based on data analysis only Quality of Work Life on Teacher Performance which has no significant effect. Teacher� competence and� Quality of Work Life can not be considered as intervening variable in this research.Keywords: Islamic Leadership, Quality of Work Life, Teacher� Competency, and Teacher Performance.

In Bhutan, recent increases in annual teacher attrition rates, particularly in rural areas, pose significant challenges for the government and concerned agencies in terms of retaining qualified teachers and reducing teacher attrition rates and turnover. This article, partly based on a field study exploring the quality of work life (QWL) and well-being of school teachers in rural Bhutan, explores the possible reasons why such teachers might seek to resign. Using mixed methodology, the study reveals poor QWL and well-being of teachers, caused by a variety of factors. In view of such findings, the Ministry of Education and the government need to ensure better all-round protection for teachers to avoid the risk of large-scale resignations.

PurposeThis is a systematically conducted study to design, develop and validate a measuring instrument to assess the nurses quality of work life (QWL) and determine the vital components of nurses' QWL.Design/methodology/approachIn this methodical study, vital dimensions of nurses QWL are identified using Pareto analysis; data and information were collected from 474 nurses through the structured questionnaire. By conducting exploratory factor analysis (EFA), the number of dimensions and items was reduced. Through the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) using SPSS 21 software, nine predominant dimensions were confirmed, they are work environment, working condition, work–life balance, compensation, relationship and cooperation, stress at work, job satisfaction, career development and organization culture. Additional structural equation modeling (SEM) was done to determine the interrelationships between extracted nine components using AMOS. By performing different statistical tests like reliability test, content validity, construct validity, convergent, divergent validity and multicollinearity, the proposed nine-component nurses QWL instrument was validated.FindingsThe proposed measurement model explained 73.18% of total variance; reliability of the instrument Cronbach's alpha value is 0.902. Model fit indices like chi-square df (CMIN) = 685, df = 523, CMIN/DF = 1.310, goodness-of-fit index (GFI) = 0.965, adjusted goodness-of-fit index (AGFI) = 0.937, parsimony goodness-of-fit index (PGFI) = 0.918, incremental fir index (IFI) = 0.933, Tucker–Lewis index (TLI) = 0.921, comparative fit index (CFI) = 0.931 and root mean square error of approximation (RMSEA) = 0.036 fulfill the acceptable criteria. The nine factors nurses QWL measuring instrument is reliable and statistically valid.Research limitations/implicationsData were collected from 474 nurses, poor responses and time constraints.Practical implicationsHospitals are trying to improve the quality of patient caring by enhancing the nurses' skill sets, knowledge and attitude to meet global challenges. In this unstable business environment, hospitals face challenges like the high attrition rate and skilled nurses shortage. In this scenario, this study provides a valid instrument to measure the QWL of nurses to know the status of QWL, which will help to build a strategic plan to improve retention rate and to attract the talented workforce to the hospitals.Originality/valueAs a result, the scale developed in this study contributes to the body of the literature on nurses QWL. It seems to be more advantageous for carrying out further research in this field.

Quality of work-life is the employees’ feeling or perception of being comfortable with their work. The objective of the present study was to determine the quality of work-life, classroom management skill, and the relationship between the quality of work-life and classroom management skill to elementary school teachers. This study uses a quantitative-correlational approach. The research subjects were 29 teachers from Pambudi Luhur elementary school in Surakarta, consisting of 14 female and 15 male teachers. Data collection in this study used a rating scale. Data analysis using product moment formula with the SPSS version 12 for Windows. The resultsof the research show that there is a significant relationship (0.531) between the quality of work-life and classroom management skill of the elementary school teachers. This means that the higher the quality of work-life of the teacher's, the better skill of managing the classroom.
