This study intended to develop an android-based application for English reading material learning for the eighth-grade students in MTsN Karangasem. This study used the design and development design model proposed by Richey & Klein (2014) which consisted of three major steps namely; 1) Design, 2) Development, 3) Evaluation. The subjects of this study were the eighth grade students of MTsN Karangasem, the English teacher in MTsN Karangasem, and integrated technology experts. The instruments used in this study were questionnaire, interview guide, and product evaluation sheets. The data were collected and analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results showed that the students’ motivation to learn English was lack and need more learning resources or materials to learn reading comprehension. The eighth-grade students need a smartphone application that provides reading material learnt in the class. The material developed in this study was limited to Recount Text material. The quality of the application got a high score from experts, which categorized in the excellent category. The use of the effective application with meaningful learning activities

The purpose of this study was to develop a realistic worksheet using the Ethnomatematics on SPLDV material and to determine the quality of worksheets in terms of validity and practicality. The method used in this study is the Research and Dependency (R&D) method which is a developmental study referring to the 4-D development model, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate modified to 3-D. The instruments used to measure the quality of worksheets that were developed include validation sheets, and practicality questionnaires. The product of this research is a realistic worksheet using ethnomatematics context on SPLDV material with the advice of eighth grade students of junior high school. The results showed that: (1) the quality of worksheets seen from the validity aspects included in the valid category with an overall average score of 3.06; and (2) the quality of worksheets seen from the practical aspect is categorized very practical with an overall average score of 3.5. Conclusion, the development of PMRI-based worksheets in the context of ethnomatematics in SPLDV material was declared valid and practically used by students. Keywords: Ethnomatematics worksheet, PMRI, SPLDV

This study aimed to develop valid and practical circle materials based on a realistic mathematics education approach to facilitate the mathematical understanding ability of eighth-grade students of SMP/MTs. This research and development used the ADDIE development model covering the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The subjects of the small group trial were 6 eighth-grade students of SMPN 21 Pekanbaru. The data were collected using a validity sheet for validity and a questionnaire for practicality. Based on the results of the analysis of the obtained data, the average validity reached 85.5 with a very valid category and average practicality of 93.45 with a very practical category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the developed materials are valid and practical.

This research aimed to identify the types of code switching and the students’ perception about code switching used by the English teachers in the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Sawan. This research was conducted in descriptive qualitative design. The subjects of this research were the eighth grade students and the eighth grade English teachers. The instruments used in this study were observation sheet, questionnaire, and interview guide. The results of this research showed that there were three types of code switching used by the English teachers. The data showed there were (31.7%) of intra sentential code switching, (54.8%) of inter sentential code switching and  (13.4%) of inter personal code switching. The results of the questionnaire showed that the average responses of the students were (70.74%), it means that students were catagorized to have positive perception about the use of code switching by the English teachers. The interview shows that the students had positive response about the use of code switching by the English teachers. There were two reasons concerning the students’ positive answer, that is, code switchings that make the students understand the material more easily, and code swicthings that reduce the students’ stress in learning.

The goal of this research is to create a student handout for eighth graders. The research was carried out in an R&D manner. Students' requirements were first assessed through observational guidance, and then more data was gathered using questionnaires and documents. Students from SMP in the eighth grade participated in this study. The researcher used some of the ADDIE model's recommendations when creating the new material. Analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation are all terms used to describe these steps in the process. A thematic analysis of the qualitative data was performed. According to the findings of the analysis stage, students require additional material in the form of handouts that focuses on three different text kinds. As a consequence of observation and analysis, the researcher will design and build the materials. The researcher must validate the product before it can be made available to end customers. Finally, the study's findings demonstrate that the handout provided to eighth-grade students at SMP meets their educational needs.

This research aimed at observing the set-up of the seating arrangement during the instructions and identifying the students' reasons for having seating preferences. This study was conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Banjar, and the subjects were 32 students in 8F class. Two methods were applied in this study, namely observation and interview. Therefore, observation checklist and interview guide were used as the instruments. The results revealed that the set-up of the seating arrangement supported them in terms of comfort, flexibility in doing activities, doing tasks, spaciousness, and collaboration with the students. Meanwhile, it did not support them in terms of concentration, participation in class discussion, and collaboration with the teacher. Regarding their reasons for having particular seats, there were 14 reasons mentioned during the interview. Best friends and leaning on the wall were the factors that had the most and the least effect on the students in choosing their seats.

Social relations between students and their peers have not been studied more extensively in our expert scientific literature, and performed studies have rarely focused on the association between these relations and school achievement. Comparison of the quality of social relations and school achievement at different ages has been especially neglected, which is the basic goal of this paper. The sample comprised 235 fifth-grade students and 230 eighth-grade students from nine (18 in total) classes in each grade, selected from four schools from the narrow Belgrade area. Besides students, research also comprised their class teachers, whose number corresponded to the number of classes that students came from (18). Twenty-seven variables were entered in correlation matrix for fourth- and eighth-grade students, and factor analysis yielded nine factors, which were only slightly different between the two ages. In both cases, acceptance by peers and orientation towards peers had the biggest importance in explaining the total variability. The factors in multiple logistic regression which determined the school achievement of fifth-graders to the largest extent were their acceptance, parents' characteristics (educational level and employment) and social adaptation. When it comes to eighth-grade students, educational level of parents and social adaptation are directly correlated with school success, and aggressiveness is inversely correlated with this variable.
