Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is a powerful tool for evaluating and improving the performance of a set of decision-making units (DMUs). Empirically, there are usually many DMUs exhibiting “efficient” status in multi-input multioutput situations. However, it is not appropriate to assert that all efficient DMUs have equivalent performances. Actually, a DMU can be evaluated to be efficient as long as it performs best in a single dimension. This paper argues that an efficient DMU of a particular input-output proportion has its own specialty and may also perform poorly in some dimensions. Two DEA-based approaches are proposed to measure the dimension-specific efficiency of DMUs. One is measuring efficiency in multiplier-form by further processing the original multiplier DEA model. The other is calculating efficiency in envelopment-form by comparing with an ideal DMU. The proposed approaches are applied to 26 supermarkets in the city of Nanjing, China, which have provided new insights on efficiency for the managers.

This study aims to know how performance efficiency BAZNAS in Bogor city, Bogor district, and Sukabumi district, and recommends things need BAZNAS have not been efficient can reach 100 percent efficiency level. This research using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method, with intermediation approach and production approach. The input and output intermediation approach are collected funds, operational costs, and channeled funds. The input and output of production approach are operational costs, socialization costs, collected funds, and channeled funds. The result of this study show that with intermediate approach BAZNAS has descresed efficiency. Calculation of production approach indicates that BAZNAS has increased efficiency value. Badan Amil Zakat Nasional Sukabumi district has obtained efficiency 100 percent in the both approaches. Badan Amil Zakat Nasional have not been efficient can diminished operational cost and socialization cost, then increased collected funds and channeled funds.

Efficiency is a topic of great interest because its applications are diverse and rich. It is applied greatly in all scientific disciplines, especially accounting for a very large proportion in economics, finance and accounting. The main objective in this paper is to analyze the effectiveness of banks in Vietnam. In order to investigate this issue, there are several implements to examine bank effectiveness where the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method is widely used. This paper presents details of the DEA method. Using the data collected from banks in Vietnam for the period 2014–2017, the approach is executed to investigate issues of technical efficiency, resource analysis and business efficiency of banks in Vietnam.

Although social based, Zakat Institutions (OPZ) need to uphold professionalism, transparency and accountabilityin its management. Most recently, Zakat Core Principles is known as the measurement of zakat fundmanagement. This study would try to measure the efficiency of DompetDhuafas program as Decision Making Unit (DMU) in the level of efficiencyusing Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method. And also the research would look at the possibility of potential improvement from inefficient DompetDhuafas programs,input-output contribution and the reference contribution of the DMU.The results show that there are 6 DMU that efficient (100%) and inefficient as much as 18 DMU. The most inefficient program is wakaf fund (2012). In general, the main factor inefficiency ofDompetDhuafa program from 2010 to 2013 due to the distribution fund of DompetDhuafa program such as zakat, wakaf, humanity etc to ashnaf which is still less optimal. The distribution fund also has to increase up to 75.38%, then it is able to resolve the problem of poverty.

In banking system the evaluation of productivity and performance is the key factor among the fundamental concepts in management. For identify the potential performance of a bank efficiency is the parameter to evaluate effective banking system. To measure the efficiency of a bank selection of appropriate input-output variables is one of the most vital issues. The suitable identification of input-output variables helps to create and identify model in order to evaluate the efficiency and analysis. The Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is a mathematical approach used to measure the efficiency of identified Decision Making Units (DMUs). The DEA is a methodology for evaluating the relative efficiency of peer decision making units of identified input/output variables for the financial year 2018-19. In this study the basic DEA CCR, BCC models used for measure the efficiency of DMUs. In addition to these models for minimize the input excess and output shortfall Slack Based Measure (SBM) efficiency used. The SBM is a scalar measure which directly deals with slacks of input, output variables which help in obtain improved efficiency score compare with previous model. The result from the analysis is

RISDA has targeted for the income of each smallholder to be at least RM2500 per month by the end of 2015. However, approximately almost 90% of the smallholders’ monthly income is still below the target. Hence, in order to observe if this target is achievable, a study was conducted to evaluate the efficiency level of producing rubber among 95 rubber smallholders in Pahang. In addition, the study also investigated if there was any opportunity for increment of production among the rubber smallholders. Therefore, the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model, under the assumption of Variable Return to Scale (VRS) and Constant Return to Scale (CRS), was used to analyse the scale and the technical efficiency of the smallholders. Scale Efficiency was measured in order to estimate the return to scale of the smallholders. As a result, the study found that the average Overall Technical Efficiency (OTE) and Pure Technical Efficiency (PTE) scores of the smallholders were 43.47% and 43.78%, respectively. Thus, the majority of the smallholders were not technically efficient in producing rubber. Furthermore, based on the return to scale estimated, 41% of the smallholders were operating under the Increase Return to Scale (IRS), which implied that the smallholders had a sub-optimal scale size. The results obtained had been useful as the optimal input-output for the efficient rubber yield can be determined and may help RISDA, as well as agricultural planners, to devise a strategy in order to increase the productivity of rubber smallholders in Malaysia.
