The population in this study included 134 Civil Servants in the Secretariat of the Bali District/City Election Commission with a total sample of 100 people using the proportional random sampling method. Data analysis techniques were performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. Job motivation is able to mediate the relationship between transformational leadership and organizational culture on employee performance partially. The Head of the Secretariat of the KPU of Regency/City in Bali needs to develop a transformational leadership style by providing motivation that inspires subordinates to work better when job motivation increases will be directly proportional to an increase in employee performance. The three main objectives of this study are: a) to test and analyze the effects of transformational and transactional leadership to teamwork positively; b) to test and analyze the effect of teamwork direct and positive impact on the performance of the work; c) to examine and analyze the influence of transformational and transactional leadership direct and positive impact on job performance. The study sample consisted of 121 (one hundred and twenty one) leaders who work in 17 (seventeen) private companies operating in the city of Bandung. Two of the five hypotheses are supported, which hypotheses were tested using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). There are several findings from this study is the first transformational leadership positively affect teamwork, but does not affect the transactional leadership team cooperation positively. The second is teamwork does not affect the performance of work directly and positively. The third is transformational leadership directly affects job performance and positive, but transactional leadership does not affect job performance. The implications of this research was discussed as well as suggestions for future research.   Keywords: Transformational Leadership; Transactional Leadership; Teamwork; Job Performance; Leadership Beliefs Inventory (LBI); Practice Environment Survey.

The population of this study consisted of all Civil Servants (PNS) at the South Buru District Agricultural Service, namely 135 people. Sampling using the exhausting sampling method or saturated sampling. Data were analyzed by multiple linear regression. The results showed that (1) the leadership style was more dominant in the transformational leadership style, where the most influential indicator was the indicator of the idealized influence dimension, namely the leadership prioritizing the needs of subordinates, (2) based on the calculation of the average of all indicators on work performance variables, indicating a tendency positive which shows that all employees always strive to improve performance in a better direction, (3) the variable transformational leadership style and transactional leadership style have a significant influence on employee performance, (4) transformational leadership style is the most dominant variable influencing achievement employee work. Keywords: transformational leadership; transaction leadership; employee work performance

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine three different structural models the Leadership Challenge model to determine if they best capture transactional or transformational leadership. The three models are derived from the literature. Design/methodology/approach – The data for this study come from self-report surveys of middle managers that are attending the Administrative Officers Course at the Southern Police Institute. The managers completed the 30-item 360° leadership challenge measure. Because the leadership challenge measure is a 360° evaluation of leadership, up to five observers provided data about their manager. The authors use the data from the observer in this study. Using structural equation modeling, the authors examine the aims. Findings – The findings show two important advances. First, the leadership challenge model may capture both transformational and transactional leadership. Second, the findings support the view that the really captures transformational leadership. Originality/value – To the authors’ knowledge, no study has performed this type of examination in the policing literature. The value of this type examination is high.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of transformational and transactional leadership styles on firms’ financial performance in a context of knowledge-intensive firms and the mediating role of exploitative and exploratory innovations in this relationship. To achieve this purpose, a quantitative research was conducted on 201 top executives working in knowledge-intensive firms in the context of an emerging country, namely Tunisia. The data analysis was performed via the structural equation modelling method. As a result, the empirical study revealed that the transformational leadership style is a key determinant of exploitative and exploratory innovations and firms’ financial performance. In this perspective, the two types of innovation partially mediate the link between transformational leadership and financial performance. However, transactional leadership affects only exploitative innovation. This original study offers a better understanding of the contribution of the transformational and transactional leadership styles on exploitative and exploratory innovations and the firms’ financial performance in a context of firms’ intensive knowledge. It offers a reading grid for managers of knowledge-intensive firms to better lead and identify key elements that may boost the firms’ innovation ambidexterity and performance.
