The objective of this study is examine the effect of good corporate governance and debt maturity towards bond rating prediction. Good corporate governance is proxied by institutional ownership, managerial ownership, board size, independent directors, audit committee, and audit quality. The sample in this study consist of 229 bonds issued by financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2011 to 2013 and was ranked by PT PEFINDO. This study uses ordinal regression analysis model to test the effect of good corporate governance and debt maturity towards bond rating prediction. The results of this study showed that institutional ownership and audit committee have significant positive effect towards bond rating prediction while independent commissioner have  significant negative effect towards bond rating prediction. Managerial ownership, board size, audit quality and maturity haven’t significantly affect toward bond ratings. The findings of this study indicated that companies with the bigger institutional ownership and the bigger audit committees, then predicted the company has bonds with higher ratings. The findings that the independent commissioner has  significant negative effect toward bond rating prediction indicate that the presence of independent commissioner haven’t been able to role effectively so expected the quality of independent commissioner should be improved.

The objective of this research was to prove empirically the factors affecting the good corporate governance and the return on assets onthe tax avoidance of the manufacturing companies indexed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange in the period of 2014-2016. The independent variables of this research werethe institutional ownership, the managerial ownership, the proportion of independent board of Commissioners, the audit committee, the audit quality, the return on assets; while, the dependent variable of this research wasthe tax avoidance. The data collectingtechnique used in this research was the purposive sampling. The number of sample used in this research was 57 manufacturing companies indexed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2014-2016. The data analysis technique used in this research was the multiple linear regressionby using IBM SPSS Version 20 program. The result of this research showed that the managerial ownership, the audit quality, and the return on assets affected the tax avoidance; while, the institutional ownership, the proportion of independent board of commissioners, and theaudit committee did not have any effect on the tax avoidance

ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Good Corporate Governance terhadap financial distress pada perusahaan-perusahaan sektor property, real estate dan konstruksi bangunan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia pada tahun 2013. Pada penelitian ini konsep good corporate governance diproksikan menggunakan indikator kepemilikan institusional, kepemilikan manajerial, komposisi dewan komisaris independen dan komite audit. Sample dipilih secara purposive dan data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi dewan komisaris independen secara signifikan berpengaruh negatif terhadap financial distress. Sementara kepemilikan institusional, kepemilikan manajerial dan komite audit, secara berturut-turut, berpengaruh negatif, positif dan positif terhadap financial distress, namun tidak signifikan.Kata kunci: kepemilikan institusional, kepemilikan manajerial, komposisi dewan komisaris independen, komite audit, financial distress ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to determine the effect of good corporate governance on financial distress in the property, real estate and construction of buildings companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2013. Sample selected purposively and the data were analyzed using logistic regression. Tax is one of the largest state revenues so that the governmenttries to maximize tax revenue but it is different from companies that wantto minimize taxes. In minimizing the tax, the company implements taxavoidance. The company avoids tax due to the lack of internal supervisionof the company, therefore the need for a system that directs and regulatesthe relationships of interested company side in making policies within thecompany. The system is good corporate governance. The purpose of thisstudy was to determine the effect of good corporate governance on tax avoidance.Good corporate governance in this study is proxied by executive compensation,institutional ownership, managerial ownership, independent boardof commissioners, audit committee, and audit quality. Tax avoidance ismeasured using the Cash Effective Tax Rate (CETR). The research samplewas 47 mining sector companies listed on the IDX in 2014–2019, and obtained213 research data. The results in this study say that executive compensationhas a negative effect on tax avoidance, institutional ownershipand managerial ownership have a positive effect on tax avoidance and theindependent board of commissioners, audit committee, audit quality has noeffect on tax avoidance.

This study aimed to examine the effect of good corporate Governance against tax avoidance peroxided by the book tax gap and corporate governance is peroxided by institutional ownership, managerial ownership, independent board, audit committee and audit quality. This study was performed on companies listed on the Stock Exchange on the observation period 2011-2014. The method used is purposive sampling and obtained a sample of 10 companies. The data used is secondary data that can be downloaded through www.idx.co.id and www.sahamok.com.  The results showed that the variables of the board of managerial ownership, independent directors, audit committee, and audit quality effect on tax avoidance while institutional ownership variable has no effect on tax avoidance. It is suspected that institutional ownership as a monitoring tool in any decision taken by the manager does not support an optimal oversight of management performance related to tax evasion.DOI: 10.15408/etk.v15i2.3541

ABSTRACT This reseach amied at knowing the influence of audit quality, propotion of independent commissioner, audit committe, firm size, managerial ownership and leverage. It used purposive sampling technique or choosing samples based on certain criteria. The sample of this research was 25 companies of banking industry in indonesia stock exchange period 2008-2012. Descriptive analysis, classical test, as well as multiple linear regression by examining the hypothesis using SPSS 20.0 were used to analyzed the data. The result shows that (1) all independent variables simultaneously hasinfluence on earnings management; (2) however partially audit committee, audit quality, managerial ownership and leverage do not affect significantly to earnings management; (3) only firm size and independent commissioner that affect significantly to earning management. This research aims to find out the influence of independent committee boards, audit committee repats, foreign ownership, and audit quality on the timeliness of financial reporting and their impact on investors' reactions both directly and indirectly. This research uses a quantitative method with population and sample of companies registered in Jakarta Islamic Index (JII). Data will be processed using path analysis using IMB SPSS Statistic 22 software. Based on the results of this research, it is known that directly, independent commissioner variables and audit quality have a positive effect on investor reactions, while foreign ownership variables and audit committee meetings have a negative effect on investors’ reactions. While the indirect influence can be known that only audit committee meetings, foreign ownership, and audit quality can have a significant impact on investors' reactions through the timeliness of disclosure of financial statements as intervening variables. The implication of this research is to prove that the existence of corporate governance in terms of determining the intensity of audit committee meetings, foreign ownership, and determination of KAP selection in improving the quality of audits can make the company more efficient and timely in disclosing its financial statements in order make positive reactions from investors that indicates good news for the company.

This study aims to determine the effect of Good Corporate Governance on profitability and company size. Good corporate governance in this study is proxied by independent board of commissioners, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, audit quality and Firm Size. Company profitability is measured by Return on Equity (ROE). This type of research is quantitative with a descriptive approach. The population in this study is the LQ45 non-financial company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2013-2017. The sample selection technique is using purposive sampling. The type of data used is student data. The data analysis technique in this study used multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that simultaneous independent commissioner variables, managerial ownership, institutional ownership, audit quality and firm size have a significant effect on profitability. partially independent board of commissioner variables have a significant negative effect on priofitability. Managerial ownership does not have a significant effect on profitability. Institutional ownership has a significant positive effect on profitability. Audit quality does not have a significant effect on profitability, Firm size does not have a significant effect on profitability.

This study aims to examine the effect of profitability and good corporate governance on earnings quality in food and beverage companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) 2015-2018 period. Profitability is calculated using Return on Assets (ROA). The proxy of Good Corporate Governance are institutional ownership, managerial ownership, audit committee, and independent commissioner. The dependent variable in this study is earnings quality measured by discretionary accrual using Modified Jones Model to detect earning management. This study used secondary data from the official website of Indonesian Stock Exchange (www.idx.co.id) and the sampling method in this study uses purposive sampling method. The data analysis in this study using multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that profitability and audit committee have a positive effect on earnings quality, while the independent commissioner has a negative effect on earnings quality. Other independent variables i.e. institutional ownership and managerial ownership have no significant effect on earnings quality

One of the biggest state's income is tax. In Indonesia, almost all activities carried out by the public are taxable, for example; grocery for daily activities, electronic equipment purchased, and employee income tax. Taxes have a very important role on state revenue because of taxes were main sources in contributing funds used to finance government spending and national development, but for the tax company is a burden that reduces the company's net profit, so the company will try to reduce the tax burden. To control the amount of tax payments is through tax avoidance, known as tax avoidance which is part of tax planning. Therefore this study aims to determine the effect of financial distress, loss compensation, institutional ownership, managerial ownership, audit committee, audit quality, company size, and return on assets to tax avoidance actions. The companies used in this study are manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) with a research period of 2016-2018. The number of research samples used were 162 data. The method of sampling used purposive sampling and this research used multiple regression analysis to test the hypothesis. This research shows that financial distress, tax loss carried forward, institutional ownership, managerial ownership, audit committee, audit quality, firm size, and return on asset have no influence on tax avoidance. This research shows that financial distress, tax loss carried forward, institutional ownership, managerial ownership, audit committee, audit quality, firm size, and return on asset have no influence on tax avoidance. Suggestions for further research to extend the study period of more than 3 years. In addition, it is hoped that further researchers can replace or add other independent variables such as sales growth.
