Inventories are raw materials, work-in-process goods and completely finished goods that are considered to be the portion of business’s assets that are ready or will be ready for sale. Formulating a suitable inventory model is one of the major concerns for an industry. The earliest scientific inventory management researches date back to the second decade of the past century, but the interest in this scientific area is still great. Again considering the reliability of any process is an important feature in the research activities. Values of some factors are very hard to define or almost unreal. In such cases, AI models of inventory management take an important place.

The present research investigates the effect of inventory performance on profitability. The objective is to find empirical evidence for the theory that operational excellence in inventory management improves profitability in the long run. To this end, the authors examine industry level longitudinal data (14 manufacturing industries at the SIC two-digit level) over the 1958-1999 period by employing a series of hierarchical regression analyses. The statistical results confirm that a lower inventory level measured as the industry inventory-to-sales ratio has a positive effect on industry profitability measured as the profit-to-sales ratio. This evidence is found significant in 9 out of the 14 U.S. manufacturing industries. This study also reveals that not all the inventories, categorized by stage of fabrication, equally contribute to improving industry profitability. For instance, the profitability of the primary and fabricated metal industries has benefited from reductions in finished goods inventories, whereas that of the petroleum and coal products industry has been affected mainly by declines in work-in-process inventories.

Background. Cannabis has been a topic of political and medical controversy in many countries over the past century. Although many publications on this topic are available, there is currently no comprehensive evaluation of global research activities in the field.

Objective. This study was conducted in order to provide a quantitative and qualitative analysis of the worldwide research output on cannabis.

Methods. In a quantitative approach, items concerning cannabis published between 1900 and 2008 were retrieved from the ISI Web of Science databases developed by the Thompson Institute of Scientific Information and analysed using scientometric methods. In a second step, research fields of growing interest were identified.

Results. We found that publications on this topic increased during the late 1960s, as well as during the period 1990 - 2008. We noted that South Africa was one of the countries with a high research output, having published numerous articles on cannabis. A comparison of cannabis with other drugs (e.g. alcohol, tobacco, cocaine and heroin) showed that in relation to the proportion of respective drug users, cocaine and heroin are overly represented in terms of research output. When analysing the main subjects of the publications, psychiatry was prominent, especially with regard to research on psychosis.

Conclusion. There is increasing interest in research on cannabis. The research only partially reflects the drug’s importance with regard to number of users.

Sinkiang occupies an important place in the vast arc of Inner Asia linking Russia and China. Over the past century, it has witnessed recurring political and economic tension between these two Powers. On one occasion, Sino-Russian co-operation suppressed anti-Chinese rebellion among its predominantly Moslem peoples. More frequently, however, Russian influence benefited from these results, to the detriment of Chinese power. In addition, Russian trade concessions during the nineteenth century, and Soviet mineral exploitation in the twentieth century, spurred economic penetration of China's largest province.

Raw materials, intermediate goods and finished goods are termed as inventories while considering it as portion of business’s assets which can be considered as prepared or are prepared for sale. One of the suitable solutions is to design optimal inventory model. Major concern of industry is to design suitable inventory model. Some of the existing inventory management research work are discussed in literature. But this field is still a big area of interest. Many research works used artificial intelligence models for inventory management. One amongst the area for inventory management is worker behavior in a company. So, employees are taken into account to be as an inventory that contributes in growth of an organization. Employee attrition may be a big issue for the organizations specially once trained, technical and key staff leave for a far better chance from the organization. This results in financial loss to replace a trained employee. Therefore, this paper uses the current and past employees’ data to analyze attrition behavior of employees and to provide bonus/promotion to employees having non attrition behavior by using PSONN and fuzzy rules. The result shows that the efficiency of model is improved with respect to existing methods by approximately 2%.

The aim of this paper represents the “LABVIEW BASED INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” creates a web-based producing system that permits manufacturing business to schedule its manufacturing operations supported the daily update of sales from its dealers. Once the sales figure of things for the past weeks are entered by the dealers over the net alongside the orders for future delivery, the schedule for future week’s production is immersed. A report of the specified raw materials or components are immersed with the merchandise necessities over the net & asked to quote their rates. Once the rates are quoted, the order is placed with the specified delivery schedules. Once the components are equipped the stocks are updated. Then a production arrangement is immersed considering the bill of materials. Once the assembly arrangement is approved, the stock is updated once the fabric is issued. Once the finished merchandise are on the market the delivery schedules are immersed supported the orders placed by the Dealers. The stocks with the dealers also will be maintained.

The evolution of cooperation in Lithuanian agriculture during the past century is analysed in the paper. It was found that cooperation has greatly depended on farming conditions, traditions of communication, state policy with respect to the development of agriculture and cooperation, and various economic conditions. Particularly significant are the specific features of development during transition of economic conditions: weak agricultural structures (farmer’s farms, agricultural companies); the domination of share capital in the processing industry and commerce, and the insufficiency of agricultural and foodstuffs markets. The basis of analysis in this paper are the theoretical preconditions for the principles of development of the activity of cooperatives. It was determined that most prospective preconditions for development of cooperation at present and in the near future emphasize the comparitive weight of the cost of production of raw materials, i.e. cooperatives of facilities, realisation, finance and representation of interests.

The relevance of logistics and increasing interest in its study are explained by the possibilities that increase the efficiency of Materials Science Systems, which reveal the use of the logistics method. Logistics reduces the time intervals from the purchase of raw materials and semi-finished products to the delivery of finished products to the consumer, contributes to a sharp reduction in inventory. The use of logistics speeds up the process of obtaining information and improves the level of Service. As foreign experience shows, logistics occupies a strategically important place in modern business. Many professionals who have achieved success in this field move to higher positions in the management of the company. Currently, the traditional functional areas of logistics in leading firms are combined into the basis of a common information and computer platform, creating a system of Strategic Innovation (Innovation). The logistics service is comprehensive. This includes transport, warehouse, inventory management, personnel Management, Information System Organization, commercial activities, etc. Each of these functions has been thoroughly studied and described in the relevant industry order. The novelty of the logistics approach is the basic relationship. The purpose of the logistics method is the continuous management of material flows. The introduction of logistics management methods in entrepreneurial practice allows many firms to reduce all types of stocks of production, equipment and products sold, accelerate the turnover of working capital, reduce production costs, reduce the costs associated with distribution, and ensure full satisfaction of consumers with goods and services. From this point of view, the relevance of the research work can be traced. In this regard, this study is relevant and relevant. Scientific novelty and practical significance - development of proposals for improving logistics at enterprises of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Abstract It has been found that the area where one can look for significant reserves in the procurement logistics is a rational management of the stock of raw materials. Currently, the main purpose of projects which increase the efficiency of inventory management is to rationalise all the activities in this area, taking into account and minimising at the same time the total inventory costs. The paper presents a method for optimising the inventory level of raw materials under a foundry plant conditions using two different control models. The first model is based on the estimate of an optimal level of the minimum emergency stock of raw materials, giving information about the need for an order to be placed immediately and about the optimal size of consignments ordered after the minimum emergency level has occurred. The second model is based on the estimate of a maximum inventory level of raw materials and an optimal order cycle. Optimisation of the presented models has been based on the previously done selection and use of rational methods for forecasting the time series of the delivery of a chosen auxiliary material (ceramic filters) to a casting plant, including forecasting a mean size of the delivered batch of products and its standard deviation.

The concept of an artificial corporeal machine that can reproduce has attracted the attention of researchers from various fields over the past century. Some have approached the topic with a desire to understand biological life and develop artificial versions; others have examined it as a potentially practical way to use material resources from the moon and Mars to bootstrap the exploration and colonization of the solar system. This review considers both bodies of literature, with an emphasis on the underlying principles required to make self-replicating robotic systems from raw materials a reality. We then illustrate these principles with machines from our laboratory and others and discuss how advances in new manufacturing processes such as 3-D printing can have a synergistic effect in advancing the development of such systems.
