Vanname shrimp (Litopenaeusvannamei) has filter feeder properties that can filter all the food contained in the sediment. Cd is a type of metal that will settle in the sediment. Cd can accumulate in the shrimp body and endanger human health if consumed. The objectives of study were 1) to determine the effect of immersion of fruits on the reduction of Cd levels, 2) to determine which types of fruits were more appropriate to reduce Cd levels in Vanname Shrimp in remote and intensive ponds. near mangroves and 3) to make posters as learning media for class X high school on environmental pollution. The research was conducted using the CRBD method (completely randomized block design) and analyzed with a one-way anova test to determine the effect of fruits on the reduction of Cd levels. The research was conducted in April 2020 in Pasir Sakti, East Lampung and analyzed at the Chemical Analytical Laboratory of the Muhammadiyah University of Malang. The results showed that soaking vanname shrimp using fruits had the effect of reducing Cd levels in shrimp meat. The type of fruits that gave the best reduction effect was Citrus aurantiifolia which was able to reduce the Cd to 270.87 ppb or  decreased by 46.28% for intensive pond shrimp near mangroves, and able to reduce the Cd to 521.4 ppb or decreased by 44.62% for intensive mangroves distant pond. This research produces learning resources in the form of posters that are suitable for use in class X high school biology learning environmental pollution material.

This research conducted to examine the causal effects of two dimensional design of print advertisement communication personality in tutoring course education institution base on brand personality that beneficially applied toward tutoring education institution brand image. After conducting observation of three groups of participants with different information advertisement treatment i.e., sincerity personality, excitement personality and control group, in the longitudinal three weeks experiment using One-Way ANOVA randomized block design analysis, gathered in the context of case study. It is proven that sincerity advertisement treatment is not appropriate to apply in making information and advertisement design for this case if publish more than one time broadcast. Contrarily, for the excitement personality form of advertisement treatment appear to increase influence on the brand image aggregate for three weeks, means excitement personality design of advertisement will strengthened the three hits theory. These research outcomes, when applied to education institution will providers, will help in designing appropriate personality form of information and communication of advertisement.

Based on the observation done by the writer in Don Bosco senior high school on the odd and even semesters during 2011 concluded that teachers, in general, do not use the biology learning at the class completely. The module of biology is only available in the odd semester but not in the even semester. The process of learning that takes place during the time in school just using the textbook or handouts made by teachers in the study. Meanwhile, the textbook is available at the school are less varied. During this time the students are taught using textbooks that contain the material at length content and tend to use convoluted sentences. Moreover, the picture presented is also less communicative and sometimes has no relation with the text, so students are difficult to understand the material presented. The purpose of this study is to produce a biology module that is completed by student worksheet and oriented to the problem based learning (PBL) are valid, practical and effective on environmental pollution topics. This research is categorized as research and development. The model and procedure of this research apply 4-D (four-D models) that consists of define, design, develop, and disseminate stage. The results of this research show that the biology module that is completed by student worksheet and oriented to the problem based learning (PBL) is effective, it can be seen from the activity, motivation and students’ learning outcomes. It is concluded that the biology module which is completed with student’s worksheet and oriented to the problem based learning (PBL) on the matter pollution is stated very valid, practical and effective.

Chickpea is a major source of proteins especially in arid and semi-arid areas of Kenya. However, its average yield per hectare is low when compared to neighbouring countries. This research was carried out to determine the levels of hybrid vigour on yield in the F1 generation. To obtain the F1s, reciprocal crossing between Mwanza 2 and Chaina I was carried out with controls being the parental lines. The experimental layout was a randomized block design replicated thrice for three seasons. A spacing of 50x20cm was used in plants, while all other agronomic practices were maintained constant. Data on grain yield and biomass per plant was obtained by measuring the weight, then subjecting it to a one-way ANOVA in SAS 9.4 software. Mwanza 2 expressed the highest biomass (2.56g), while both parents attained a maximum grain yield of 1.69g per plant. Chaina I x Mwanza 2 hybrid expressed maximum means of F1s for biomass (2.31g) and grain yield (1.4g) per plant. Chaina I x Mwanza 2 hybrid recorded the highest biomass and grain yield in better parent heterosis with 14.36% and 330% respectively. Mid-parent heterosis means were also highest at 24.53% and 405.88% for biomass and grain yield respectively. Further, the heritability was maximum for biomass under Mwanza 2 x Chaina I, varying from 93.1% to 100%, while Chaina I x Mwanza 2, expressed maximum grain yield and harvest index. Better parent heterosis and mid-parent heterosis was highest in Chaina I x Mwanza 2 than its reciprocal, Mwanza 2 x Chaina I.

Pinctada maxima is a filter feeder organism obtaining food particles by filtration from water suspension. Filtration and ingestion rate of a large number of benthic filter feeders in a variety of coastal environment have been known influenced by current velocity. The purposes of this study were to examine the effects of current velocity on filtration and ingestion rate of pearl oyster P. maxima and to determine the best current velocity. Randomized Block Design was used in this experiment with four current treatments of 8, 16, 24, and 32 cm s-1. The results of this experiment demonstrated that current velocity has a marked effect on filtration rate of P. maxima and that this species follows the general pattern of response observed for other bivalves. Different velocity affected filtration and ingestion rate in pearl oyster P. maxima. It was gradual decline in the suspension feeding with increasing velocity. Filtration rate of bivalves with siphons facing into the current, were directly inhibited by hydrodynamic effects on the functioning of the bivalves pump. At increasing current velocity, pressures applied to the inhalant and exhalant aperture facing into the flow would result in higher pressures than that of produced by the ciliary pump, resulting in reduced filtration rate. The highest filtration and ingestion rate in this experiment were obtained at velocity of 8 cm s-1 that achieved 3.409±0.485 l/h and 37.91±1.27 (x107) cells/h, respectively.

Coconut frond ash is one of the wastes from coconut trees which has not been maximally utilized. Coconut frond ash contains MgCl2 and KCl so that it can be used as a salt substitute in the process of preserving fish. In this study coconut frond ash was used as a basic ingredient for making dried mackerel with a long time of drying to storage. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of drying time on mackerel storage. The research design used was a Randomized Block Design (RCBD) with 2 factors studied. The first factor is the drying time consists of 3 levels, namely P1 = 3 days, P2 = 4 days, P3 = 5 days. The second factor is storage which consists of 3 levels, namely S1 = 30 days, S2 = 60 days, S3 = 90 days. Each treatment was repeated 2 times to obtain 18 experimental units to observed hedonic tests. From the results of the study it can be stated that the treatment has a very significant effect (P≥0.01) on the hedonic test which includes (color, aroma, taste and texture).
