Managing people is a difficult task and maintaining the attendance record is an important factor for most of the organizations. Meanwhile, in the industrial sector, a precise attendance record system of the employees is important for companies, especially for the payroll process. There are various existing technology that has been implemented to help an industrial sector to manage their attendance records. The use of current technology such as fingerprint biometric scanner and mobile devices as a complement to the software development will benefits to the industrial sector in order to enhance their services. This paper described a fingerprint biometric-based and web-based management system integrated with short message service (SMS) notification for attendance records of the employees known ANotify. It was specifically developed for an industrial sector that uses fingerprint as biometric features for employee attendance, is able to store records of employees’ attendance in organized, systematic, and the SMS alert notification to the supervisors about the employee attendance reports. This system was developed based on System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) as a methodology. A user acceptance test was conducted with thirty (30) respondents to determine the effectiveness of the system by evaluating the questionnaire which was categorized into three (3) parts included user interface satisfaction, perceived ease of use, and integration of SMS notification. Results of the system evaluation showed that the system has a positive impact and to be well accepted by users, convenient, economic and reliable method of notification for the attendance records

The technology acceptance model (TAM) stipulates that both perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU) directly influence the end user’s behavioral intention (BI) to accept a technology. Studies have found that self-efficacy is an important determinant of PEOU. However, there has been no research examining the relationship between self-efficacy and BI. The studies on the effect of self-efficacy on PU are also rare, and findings are inconsistent. In this study, we incorporate Internet self-efficacy (ISE) into the TAM as an antecedent to PU, PEOU, and BI. We conducted a controlled experiment involving a Web-based medical record system and 86 healthcare subjects. We analyzed both direct and indirect effects of ISE on PEOU, PU, and BI using hierarchical regressions. We found that ISE explained 48% of the variation in PEOU. We also found that ISE and PEOU together explained 50% of the variation in PU, and the full model explained 80% of the variance in BI.

Tourism industry in Malaysia is being developed to be better thus, making Malaysia as one of the most attractive countries to visit. Many Village Stays in Malaysia are owned and managed by inexperienced personnel and have inefficient system. This makes local products and nearby tourist attractions not able to be advertised properly or are not made known to the public. So, the objectives of this project are to develop Village Stay Reservation and Management System that caters for the information of the local tourist attraction products and to evaluate Village Stay Reservation and Management System in terms of perceived ease of use. In order to achieve the objectives, this project develops the system using PHP programming language and tests the system of its functionality, usability and user acceptance. There are fifteen respondents who tested the system. A set of questionnaires was used to collect the data. The mean for user acceptance test is 3.77 while for user reaction in usability testing is 3.74. The respondents are satisfied with the system in terms of its functionality. In conclusion, this research has achieved the objectives. It is shown that the users can deal more effectively and efficiently when using this system. This system will reduce the workload of staffs when using an online system to monitor the reservation as well as attending to other chores.

This research explores the influencing factors of learning satisfaction in blended learning. Three dimensions are proposed: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and learning motivation. It studied how these variables affect students’ learning satisfaction. The research hypotheses are: (1) Perceived ease of use positively affects perceived usefulness; (2) Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use will have a positive effect on learning motivation; (3) Learning motivation positively affects learning satisfaction; (4) Perceived usefulness has a positive intermediary effect on the relationship between perceived ease of use and learning motivation. Participants included 173 freshmen who took the first-year interactive game design course at Ling Tung University in Taichung, Taiwan. The questionnaire survey method is applied in this research to analyze the relationship between the variables and verify the hypothesis based on the collected 173 valid questionnaires. The partial least square method structural equation model (PLS-SEM) is used to carry out structural equation modeling to study the relationship between latent variables. It explains that the perceived ease of use affects the perceived usefulness. Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use have a positive impact on learning motivation. Learning motivation has a positive impact on learning satisfaction. Perceived usefulness as an intermediary factor of perceived ease of use has an indirect impact on learning motivation. The contribution of this research is to provide empirical evidence and explain what factors may affect learning satisfaction. Some other related factors that may affect learning satisfaction should be taken as the factors that teachers should pay attention to when implementing blended learning.

Contact Center is a form of Customer Relationship Management, where customers can interact with a company through its single point of contact and serves mainly as a tool for the company to maintain its service to the customers. Contact center is generally operated by many Agents and can accepts thousands of phone calls every day, depending on the company’s scale and customer base. In order to correctly serve the customers, Agents need to understand many knowledge which the company has, and this is the main reason why Agents need to master the company’s Knowledge Management System (KMS). Inability of Agents to interact with the KMS will be a serious problem for the company. In this paper, we studied the acceptance of Halo Info, a form of KMS in one of the biggest banking contact center in Indonesia, called Halo BCA. We used modified TAM version 2, with a total of 11 variables, 31 indicators, and 12 hypotheses. The research instrument was a 31 items questionnaire. We gathered 283 respondent data, and analyzed it using PLS-SEM. The research findings are: Usage Behaviour (UB) is significantly affected by Intention to Use (IU); IU is proven to be greatly affected by Perceived Ease of Use (PEU), Perceived Usefulness (PU), and Subjective Norm (SN); PEU is significantly affected by System Self-Efficacy (SSE) and Interface Usability (IUSB); PU is significantly affected by Job Relevance (JR) and PEU, but is not significantly affected by Output Quality (OQ), Image (I), Result Demonstrability (RD), and SN.

The study attempted to examine the user training and experience on user acceptance of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) in a continuously progressing industry where maintenance management is extremely vital for the smooth functioning. A cross-sectional study design was used in this research. The study population comprised of users of CMMS. The analysis was mainly carried out using structured equation modeling techniques. The results reveal that perceived usefulness was the most significant determinant of adoption of a complex system than all the other variables, underscoring the importance of incorporating the appropriate functional capabilities in new systems. The findings affirm that a system will be adopted if it is regarded as useful, irrespective of attitude, provided that the use of the system is perceived to offer direct benefits to the user. All the relationships existing between perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude towards using, and behavioral intention were tested and found to be significant and positive. Further analysis revealed that experience helps in ease of use but not in usefulness while training impacts on both usefulness and ease of use. Based on the analysis results recommendations were made to track the value of user training and experience accordingly.

BACKGROUND In China, for most diabetic patients, wearable activity trackers are an innovative product that has not yet been generally accepted and used. Many studies have proved personality traits to affect patients' self-management behavior with chronic diseases, the willingness to adopt medical services, and willingness to use mobile healthcare equipment. OBJECTIVE This study aimed to investigate the influence of personality traits of type 2 diabetes patients on the use intention of the intelligent wearable device -- wearable activity trackers METHODS A self-designed questionnaire and Chinese Big Five Personality Inventory brief version (CBF-PI-B) were used to investigate type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients from 22 community health service stations affiliated to 4 community health service centers in Tongzhou District and Shunyi District of Beijing. RESULTS A total of 728 cases were included in this study. Monofactor analysis indicated differences between patients with different genders in neuroticism, individual innovation, and behavioral intention, differences between patients with different ages in neuroticism, openness, individual innovation, and privacy concerns, differences between patients with different degree of education in openness, extraversion, perceived ease of use, the individual innovation and social image, and differences between patients with different income levels in openness, extraversion, perceived ease of use and individual innovation. The structural equation showed that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, social image, and privacy concern had direct effects on behavioral intention (β=0.158, 0.223, 0.151, -0.657). Neuroticism had a positive impact on social image and privacy concerns (β=0.144, 0.154). Conscientiousness and openness had a positive influence on perceived ease of use (β=0.147, 0.142). Agreeableness showed negative impacts on both perceived ease of use and privacy concerns (β=-0.108, -0.251). Openness and extroversion both had a positive impact on individual innovation (β=0.149, 0.180) while openness generated a positive influence on social image (β=0.189). CONCLUSIONS Different personality traits had influences on individual innovation, privacy concerns and social image, and indirectly affect patients’ intention to use wearable activity trackers. Therefore, personalized guidance and health education could be carried out according to different personality traits when using intelligent wearable devices in the intervention of patients with type 2 diabetes.

Computerized physician order entry (CPOE) holds potential of reducing medical errors, improving care quality, and cutting healthcare costs. Yet its success depends on physicians’ acceptance and usage. We test if TAM can be used to explain physician acceptance of CPOE. A survey study was conducted on physicians who have access to CPOE in a large general hospital in China. Data analyses based on 103 responses support all of the relationships predicted by TAM except the one between perceived ease of use and attitude. With additional data analyses, we find that the PEOU-attitude relationship is negatively moderated by physicians’ experience of using CPOE. PEOU does not affect attitude for experienced physicians, whereas when physicians are inexperienced, PEOU has a positive impact on attitude. Our findings suggest that TAM can be applied to explain physicians’ acceptance of CPOE, yet its application should be performed with caution.

This study aims to identify the factors affecting mobile payment (m-payment) adoption intention in India by proposing a conceptual framework based on technology acceptance model (TAM). In addition to construct of TAM, four user-centric constructs have been added to evaluate m-payment adoption intention in India. The proposed research framework was empirically tested by data collected from 381 potential m-payment service users, through online and offline survey. Data were analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM) technique. The results exhibit that perceived ease of use (PEOU), perceived usefulness (PU), trust, and self-efficacy (SE) have a significant positive impact on m-payment adoption intention. However, subjective norms (SN) and personal innovativeness (PI) have no significant impact on m-payment adoption intention. Findings of the study have important theoretical and practical implications, particularly to understand important user-centric factors affecting m-payment adoption.
