This research is entitled: "Application of the Quantum Hijaiyah Method in Improving the Ability to Read the Koran of the Muslim Community in West Kalimantan”. The purpose of this study is to guide the convert community (muallaf) to be able to read the Qur'an properly and correctly, equipping them with the ability to practice one of the teachings of Islam, namely to read the holy verses of the Qur'an in order to increase the spirit of converts in practicing Islamic teachings. The object of this research is the Muslim convert community (muallaf) in Senyabang Village, Sanggau District and the Muslim Community in Menjalin Village, Menjalin District, Landak Regency. This qualitative research model targets the social community as an active part of the research process, in order to increase the effectiveness of the data collection and analysis process to produce a recommendation that is truly beneficial for the improvement of the quality of their social life. The community-based research approach is more suitable if it uses an action research model, as applied research that requires dynamic and clinical trials. The results of the study were in the form of application a method of learning the Qur'an in an easier time with the Quantum Hijaiyah method. The training and development participants showed an increase in the mastery of reading hijaiyah letters and verses of the Qur'an during 19 hours of effective learning starting from pre-test, training and post-test activities. Increasing the reading ability of participants is proven by the results of tests and testimonials or acknowledgment from each participant who acknowledges the changes and improvement in the quality of reading the verses of the Qur'an.

The purpose of this paper is to examine a traditional academic research model frequently used in scholarly papers and the implications of this model in restricting growth and quality of new knowledge generation. The paper contends a traditional academic research process (TARP) is evident in business and the other social science research. It identifies concerns about the process and how it restricts new theory development. The paper provides an alternative model, the higher academic research model (HARP) which is characterised by closer interaction between research processes and phenomena under investigation. The paper concludes by demonstrating the increased output achievement of the new model.

New or adapted methods and tools are needed to ensure the voices of older people with cognitive impairment and dementia are included in evaluations of care services which aim to support their quality of life (QoL). In this study, cognitive interviewing practices were used with a group of 26 older service users with cognitive impairment from two service providers in New South Wales, Australia, to test and modify the Adult Social Care Outcomes Toolkit Easy Read (ER) survey to improve its suitability for this cohort. We used Antonovsky’s “sense of coherence” framework to describe our research approach and how it was adapted to provide a manageable, meaningful, and comprehensible experience for our participants. While the modified ER format made the survey more comprehensible and meaningful, it was the techniques of cognitive interviewing that made the research approach manageable. We argue that while ER does support the research process for older service users with cognitive impairment, combining ER pictorials with the qualitative interactions with the researcher, in particular cognitive interviewing strategies, is needed to support a cohesive approach to assess care-related QoL in this vulnerable group.

Kata Kunci: buerger exercise, perawatan kaki, diabetes, hipertensi Abstract: Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus (DM) are chronic diseases that need continuous treatment to control blood pressure and blood sugar levels. The diseases are susceptible to vascular problems, so that blood circulation is not smooth and made prone to leg disorders that manifest as blockages in blood vessels, ulcers, and even amputations. Covid 19 pandemic requires people with the diseases stay at home if there is no emergency since they are at high risk of being infected. This community service (PKM) aims to provide education and training about Buerger exercises and foot care to reduce the risk of vascular disorders for people with DM and hypertension. The PKM, which took place at the Lembaga Kesejahteraan Sosial Hargo Dedali, Surabaya, with strict health protocols, included 21 participants (around 59 years old); 6 participants have hypertension, 7 participants have DM, and the remaining 8 participants have both diseases. It applied the Community Based Research (CBR) approach. The program's evaluation compared the scores of pre-test and post-test, which assess the participants’ knowledge and the examination of foot vascular condition. The results of evaluation are p = 0.000 (p <0.05) on the knowledge level, p = 0.001 (p <0.05) on the Vascular Quality of Life, and ABI with p = 0.002 (p <0.05). The numbers show a significant difference between before and after the program on the level of knowledge and the physical recovery of the vascular. The empowerment of people with DM and hypertension through the education and practice of Buerger exercises and foot care can be used to reduce the risk of vascular disorders and foot complications. Keywords: buerger exercise, foot care, diabetes, hypertension

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to reflect on interactive research as a means to create relevant knowledge in the domain of operations management in general and specifically in the context of production start-up.Design/methodology/approachThe reflection on the use of interactive research in production start-ups was based on a study of two completed interactive research projects. The lens for reflection was a framework including context, quality of relationship, quality of the research process itself and outcomes.FindingsThe context was industrial manufacturing companies in Sweden, with different kind of challenges related to production start-ups, such as collaboration between involved functions and suppliers, competence development and work routines. Indicators of the quality of relationship between researchers and practitioners were initiated development activities and new collaboration between functions, within the company, between companies and in supply chains. The reflection of the quality of the research process itself was based on an interactive research process including four iterative steps with regular follow-ups allowing joint practitioner and researcher reflection on the progress. Identified outcomes included increased awareness and competence on how to deal with production start-ups, improvements of communication, work procedures and structures, better use of competences, increased cross-functional dialogue and cultural understanding.Practical implicationsImplications for practitioners are the possibilities for knowledge creation through interactive collaboration in research projects enabling exchange between researchers from complementary fields and other companies dealing with production start-ups.Originality/valueThe interactive research approach enables joint knowledge creation in a fast-changing context such as production start-ups as well as value-adding results both for practitioners in industry and for academia.

Abstract This article discusses the introduction of age management practices within organizations and the possible resistance to their implementation, linked to the persistence of stereotypes and barriers associated with employee age and the presence of hostile organizational cultures. The article proposes to adopt an action research approach to facilitate the implementation of these practices, presenting for this purpose an action research model, the Quality of Ageing at Work, tested in 31 organizations in Italy and Spain. In light of a review of the literature on age management and action research, it describes the methodology of the Quality of Ageing at Work model and discusses it through the presentation of an organizational case. The Quality of Ageing at Work model consists of alternate phases of action and reflection through which researchers, in constant dialogue with field actors (in this case, managers, work councils, and workers), analyze organizational needs, by applying qualitative and quantitative tools, discuss them, and propose solutions. The main result of the intervention can be considered the increased awareness and autonomy of the organization in implementing an age management plan. This result confirms the effectiveness of interventions built on the dialogical and iterative principles of action research, generating, in a democratic way, new awareness and knowledge and producing organizational change.

Mixed methods research (MMR) is versatile, pragmatic, and adaptable to constraints and opportunities during a research process. Although MMR has gain popularity in health services management research, little is known about how the research approach has been used and the quality of research. We conducted a systematic review of 198 MMR articles published in selected U.S.-based and international health services management journals from 2000 through 2018 to examine the extent of MMR application and scientific rigor. Results showed limited, yet increasing, use of MMR and a high degree of correspondence between MMR designs and study purposes. However, most articles did not clearly justify using MMR designs and the reporting of method details and research integration were inadequate in a significant portion of publications. We propose a checklist to assist the preparation and review of MMR manuscripts. Additional implications and recommendations to improve transparency, rigor, and quality in MMR are discussed.

In the face of the uncertainty and instability of the external economic and geopolitical environment, Russian regions face the urgent task of forming an effective model of territorial development to ensure sustainable economic growth and improve the quality of life. The concept “smart city” is widely spread not only in academic and expert circles, but also in the sphere of practical application and implementation in the social and economic life of modern regions as a promising development model. The authors aim to substantiate the theoretical and methodological provisions and tools of the adaptive methodology of modern regional development in the transition to the concept of smart city. Dialectical and system approaches, general scientific methods of retrospective, situational, comparative, factor analysis, content analysis of scientific literature, economic-statistical, comparative, analytical methods of research were used to achieve the aim and solve the problems. The research approach is based on the theoretical and methodological provisions and tools of the adaptive methodology of modern regional development in conditions of transition to the concept of smart city. The focal point of the smart city concept is people – involved subjects interested in applying this concept in solving local problems. The ability to conceptually connect different spheres of life of the population, business units and representatives of public administration depends on the level (strategic, tactical, operative) and methods of their mutual communication, information and experience exchange, innovativeness. A reasonable approach should result in a balanced and functional decision for the given task. Then the main tool of the intellectual approach is a transparent and open information platform, and the main tool is an open and highly effective communication at the level of social dialogue between all involved urban development participants. The authors conclude that the smart city is a future challenge, a model of a city where technology serves people and improves the quality of their economic and social life. At the same time, decisions made in smart cities are not limited to technology, but require active involvement of the population in “smart development”. Besides, it is necessary to understand that there is no reference model of “smart city” development, each individual case requires an individual approach.
