This article focuses on making “school talk,” or classroom discourse, more explicit on two levels. One level involves making explicit for teachers both the nature of school talk, and the reasons why many children may come to school unfamiliar with the school talk register. Providing teachers with this awareness enables them, in turn, to make school talk explicit for their students by directly explaining the rules for engaging in this type of discourse to them. As tools for enhancing teacher awareness, this article clearly distinguishes the school talk and everyday social talk registers and provides information regarding the cultural variation in children learning to use school talk at home. The shortcomings of previous implicit approaches to teaching school talk are examined, and ways to make the rules for engaging in this register explicit for children are suggested.

The purpose of this study was to identify and examine how schools implementing schoolwide positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS) were engaging families in their Tier I PBIS systems. In addition, reported implementation of practices and the availability of resources were examined in relation to fidelity of PBIS implementation. Participants included PBIS Leadership team representatives from 302 schools across three states. Findings revealed the most common ways in which schools (a) communicated with families about their PBIS systems, (b) worked with families to support PBIS at school, (c) supported family use of PBIS at home, and (d) built partnerships to support PBIS. Finally, communicating with families about PBIS and supporting families to help their child follow school expectations were related to fidelity of PBIS implementation. Implications and future research directions are discussed.

Struvite (MgNH4PO4∙6H2O) is an insoluble double salt. It can precipitate in places such as pipes, aerators and pumps, which could lead to substantial problems influencing the normal operation of wastewater treatment equipments. At present, removal of ammonium nitrogen from various wastewaters by the formation of struvite has been widely investigated. This paper reviewed the research and application efforts concerning the treatment of ammonium nitrogen by struvite precipitation, which were obtained at home and abroad in recent years. The mechanism and influence factors of struvite precipitation for ammonium nitrogen removal were discussed. Additionally, the problems that still should be resolved and the research directions in future were pointed out.

Russian firms suffer from the negative country of origin effect and legitimacy shortage. This paper has the aim to reveal factors for Russian firms to focus on while build legitimacy both at home and abroad. To identify the existing research directions, the 48 articles applying legitimacy and Russian focus from journals in management and business for all years were analyzed, using both the bibliometric analysis and manual in-depth study of papers. Based on the specificity of the Russian context and literature analysis about the factors of the legitimacy concept, we develop a theoretical framework that is supported by a set of propositions about possible legitimization strategies of Russian firms. Three main pillars of the organizational legitimacy construct such as moral, pragmatic and cognitive, which are accepted as the most influential ones, were introduced and proposed for Russian firms how to gain them at home and abroad. This paper has the value for both theory and practice. It contributes to the legitimacy literature, responding to many calls to study the microfoundations of the organizational legitimacy and developing the holistic theoretical framework within the Russian context. The findings also are of practical importance for managers and entrepreneurs whose attention is paid to the effective strategic management and legitimacy building both at home and abroad.

The 2016 Presidential Election brought debate about wall building, deportation for undocumented families, and registering for Muslim Americans. A Trump presidency means that many of our ESOL families are concerned about their security in our communities. Families are talking about this at home, and children are talking at school. Students are repeating insensitive things they have heard at home or on television. For our students who are already fearful that their families will be separated or that they will have to register because of their religion, hearing their peers support those ideas can feel intimidating. How can teachers provide a safe learning environment that respects all learners? Suggestions are presented for maintaining an intimidation-free classroom and encouraging respectful discourse in order to promote optimal learning opportunities.

Magnetic fluid is a multifunctional new fluid material. Because of its combination of magnetism and fluidity, it has an irreplaceable role in many occasions. The application of magnetic fluid in the sensor field is not yet mature, but with the continuous attempts of researchers, the huge potential of magnetic fluid in this field has been explored. This paper mainly introduces the application of magnetic fluid in the field of sensor, and briefly introduces the characteristics and manufacturing method of magnetic fluid. The principle of the magnetic fluid inclination sensor is introduced emphatically, and the magnetic fluid inclination sensor is classified according to the different restriction methods of the magnetic fluid.Pointed out the gap between the research directions of magnetic fluid inclination sensors at home and abroad, as well as the problems existing in research and development, and prospects for future innovation in this field.

AbstractWe address three issues: (1) There is a need for a comprehensive multidisciplinary understanding of teaching; (2) teaching is a natural cognitive ability for humans; and (3) there is a need to incorporate the mentalistic and cultural approaches to teaching. We suggest certain research studies that can help deepen our understanding of the cognition of teaching.

Cycle I showed quite significant results both in the discipline of arrival time and discipline in making learning instruments. However, it has not reached the expected target of at least 85%. Obstacles that were found for teachers who lacked time discipline were apparently caused by several things including geographical location and business at home, for example there were those who had to deliver their children first and cooking (female teachers). Reward for teachers who have been disciplined in time, disciplined in making learning instruments, and achieving curriculum targets. The rewards are in the form of praise and serve as an example for other teachers in the hope that others can follow their footsteps so that at least 85% of teachers are expected to be able to discipline both in time and in carrying out learning process activities and achieve the expected curriculum targets. Cycle II showed quite significant results both in the discipline of arrival time, discipline in making learning instrument, and overall had achieved the expected target of at least 85%. Obstacles that were found for teachers who lacked time discipline were apparently caused by several things including geographical location, and busyness at home, for example there were those who had to deliver their children first, and cooking (female teachers). Therefore, by giving rewards and punishments, it turns out that it can lead to teacher awareness of their duties and responsibilities as a professional teacher.
