Competence Orientation in Business Informatics International Master ProgramThe need for competence-based approach in professional and educational standards is required by modern economy. Development and improvement of systems of different competences provides a link between education and training and labor market. The discussion on the current state and prospects of development of joint master's program in Business Informatics is being held. Hereby there is a suggestion on competencies description for the Business Informatics Curriculum based on descriptors. To realize the competence oriented model for masters' program it is suggested to mark out educational concepts through the type of courses in each discipline.

This paper illustrates the current state of creation of personnel in the maritime industry in Montenegro and worldwide. We are comparing many different systems of seafarer education around the world and indicating their benefits and shortcomings. We took into consideration BIMCO’s research pertaining to the supply of and demand for seafarers on the international labor market. We also took into consideration the development of seafarers’ careers in keeping with international conventions governing the systems of education and training of seafarers. This paper focuses on the current condition in seafarer education worldwide. We conducted a survey among 30 Montenegrin and 24 Croatian seafarers to establish their opinion on the educational system, seafarer employment agencies and careers.

Dual study programs are hybrid forms of work-based higher education that have expanded very rapidly in Germany—a country traditionally considered a key model in both higher education (HE) and vocational education and training (VET). The continued expansion of these hybrid programs increasingly raises questions if, how, and why they may be internationalized. Although comparative research suggests that this could be challenging due to the uniqueness of the German education and training system, strong forces support internationalization. This study examines the current state and the future prospects of internationalization of such innovative dual study programs by focusing on student mobility, a key dimension of internationalization. We find growing interest in but still relatively little mobility related to dual study programs, whether among German (outgoing) or international (incoming) students. Based on expert interviews and document analysis, we extend existing typologies of student mobility regarding specific features of work-based HE programs. Furthermore, we discuss opportunities—at home and abroad—for increasing student mobility in this rapidly expanding sector.

In the article the author presents a relevant experience of designing an actual competency model of an educator in vocational education and training (VET) which is based on the researches of the world and Russian labor markets. There is explained a term “innovative segment of a labor market” and given risks of vocational education and training in part of its interaction with this segment. The author made an analysis of trends affecting the vocational education and training development and analyzed data of the VET economics monitoring. The approach to designing a competency model of an educator in VET is described in consideration of the transforming role of an educator. The L.B. Krasin vocational school of creative industries experience in designing a competency model of an educator is presented, the competency models is given with detailed description of the competencies. Agricultural education and training in the former Czechoslovakia has traditionally focused on fostering the position of cooperatives and state farms. The destruction of socialist agriculture and the reduction of commuting opportunities in the urban space during the transition have resulted in the handicapped socio-economic position of the Slovak countryside and its population. The role of education and training in fostering agribusiness growth and rural development could therefore become a crucial strategy. The aim of this article is to analyse the current state of education and training for agribusiness and for rural development in Slovakia using the methods of literature research and document analysis. The article interprets general trends in the development of adult education in Slovakia during the transition period. The main priorities and perspectives formulated in the national strategy for education in agriculture (for the period 2007-2013) are discussed in the mentioned context. With a focus on the leading role of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, the paper assesses the current status of formal and further agricultural education and training offered in academic and other educational institutions. The paper concludes by discussing implications, recommendations and challenges for developing education and training initiatives for agribusiness and rural development.

This article summarizes and elaborates upon the themes discussed by members of the “Future of Counselling Psychology Education and Training in Canada” working group at the 2018 Canadian Counselling Psychology Conference (2018 CCPC) by 19 participants in attendance. Complexities in program requirements, external and internal program regulations, research competency and advancement, and cultural/social justice responsiveness and internationalization are explicated and analyzed. The current state of counselling psychology education and training is highly intricate and nuanced, while many strengths and opportunities for growth exist despite some long-standing tensions. It is hoped that this article not only will help outline and contextualize the current status and challenges facing the future of counselling psychology education and training in Canada but also will recruit others in helping to improve Canadian counselling psychology education and training. Advocating for what is needed to achieve this is consistent with the theme of the 2018 CCPC. Continued dialogue, program evaluation, theorizing, and research are needed on the nature and dynamics of Canadian counselling psychology education and training.

Vocational education and training (VET) is high on the European agenda. This article adds nuance to the policy ambition of “fixing” parents’ views on VET. It is based on extensive qualitative research in Romania, with over 250 young people. An unanticipated finding was the “absence” of parents from the young people’s accounts, along with a tendency by the teachers and employers to blame young people for having “unreasonable expectations.” This article explores the deeper structural reasons for the current state of “parental disengagement.” It links parents’ precarious working lives with young people’s sense of disillusionment and communist nostalgia.
