Bali province is a tourist destination island with good transportation. Airplane is the most used transportation to go to Bali. Convenience of the airline passengers are the most important thing for I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Authorithy. An exact forecast method is needed to predict the numbers of passenger in the future. There are two types of forecasting methods; triple exponential smoothing and Fuzzy Time Series Ruey-Chyn Tsaur, however based on the research Fuzzy Time Series Ruey-Chyn Tsaur is better than triple exponential smoothing due to a small error MAPE (Mean Absolute Percentage Error) of 2,4% and plot is close to actual data.

Edible bird nest (EBN) were traditional medicine consumed by the Tiongkok. This study compared two-algorithm method. Fuzzy time series and Markov chain as forecast method the number of bird nest exported from Indonesia. The secondary data between 2012 and 2018 were from Bureau Central Statistic (BPS). The scope using in this study were bird nest between 2012 until 2018, with a unit of volume kilograms (Kg). Used secondary export data, collected from BPS of Indonesia. Data were analysed using Fuzzy Time Series with and without Markov Chain using R Studio. The result showed that Fuzzy Time Series with and without Markov Chain method performs better in the forecasting ability in short-term period prediction and the values of Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) and Mean Square Error (MSE) tends to be smaller than the Fuzzy Time Series without Markov Chain. It can be concluded the number of exported can be used Fuzzy time series.

Peramalan merupakan kegiatan memprediksi nilai suatu variabel di masa yang akan datang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memprediksi jumlah mahasiswa baru Institut Pertanian Bogor dengan menggunakan metode fuzzy time series dan metode pemulusan eksponensial ganda dari Holt serta membandingkan kedua metode tersebut dengan cara melihat tingkat ketepatan peramalan Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). Metode fuzzy time series menggunakan himpunan fuzzy dalam proses peramalannya sedangkan metode pemulusan eksponensial ganda dari Holt menggunakan pemulusan nilai dari serentetan data dengan cara menguranginya secara eksponensial. Dalam meramalkan jumlah mahasiswa baru Institut Pertanian Bogor, metode fuzzy time series menghasilkan tingkat ketepatan peramalan yang lebih baik dengan nilai MAPE sebesar 6.41 % dibandingkan dengan metode pemulusan eksponensial ganda dari Holt dengan nilai MAPE sebesar 7.75 %. Setelah dilakukan studi kasus, metode pemulusan eksponensial ganda dari Holt akan lebih akurat hasil peramalannya jika data yang digunakan lebih banyak.

Background: Intuitionistic fuzzy time series forecasting methods have been started to solve the forecasting problems in the literature. Intuitionistic fuzzy time series methods use both membership and non-membership values as auxiliary variables in their models. Because intuitionistic fuzzy sets take into consideration the hesitation margin and so the intuitionistic fuzzy time series models use more information than fuzzy time series models. The background of this study is about intuitionistic fuzzy time series forecasting methods. Objective: The study aims to propose a novel intuitionistic fuzzy time series method. It is expected that the proposed method will produce better forecasts than some selected benchmarks. Method: The proposed method uses bootstrapped combined Pi-Sigma artificial neural network and intuitionistic fuzzy c-means. The combined Pi-Sigma artificial neural network is proposed to model the intuitionistic fuzzy relations. Results and Conclusion: The proposed method is applied to different sets of SP&500 stock exchange time series. The proposed method can provide more accurate forecasts than established benchmarks for the SP&500 stock exchange time series. The most important contribution of the proposed method is that it creates statistical inference: probabilistic forecasting, confidence intervals and the empirical distribution of the forecasts. Moreover, the proposed method is better than the selected benchmarks for the SP&500 data set.

Objective: To forecast the number of patients who will present each month at the emergency department of a hospital in regional Victoria. Methods: The data on which the forecasts are based are the number of presentations in the emergency department for each month from 2000 to 2005. The statistical forecasting methods used are exponential smoothing and Box?Jenkins methods as implemented in the software package SPSS version 14.0 (SPSS Inc, Chicago, Ill, USA). Results: For the particular time series, of the available models, a simple seasonal exponential smoothing model provides optimal forecasting performance. Forecasts for the first five months in 2006 compare well with the observed attendance data. Conclusions: Time series analysis is shown to provide a useful, readily available tool for predicting emergency department demand. The approach and lessons from this experience may assist other hospitals and emergency departments to conduct their own analysis to aid planning.

At the end of December 2019, the virus emerges from Wuhan, China, and resulted in a severe outbreak in many cities in China and expanding globally, including Indonesia. Indonesia is the fourth most populated country globally. As of February 2021, Indonesia in the first rank of positive cases of COVID-19 in Southeast Asia, number 4 in Asia, and number 19 in the world. Our paper aims to provide detailed reporting and analysis of the COVID-19 case overview and forecasting that have hit Indonesia. Our time-series dataset from March 2020 to January 2021. Summary of cases studied included the number of positive cases and deaths due to COVID-19 on a daily or monthly basis. We use time series and forecasting analysis using the Naïve Forecast method.  The prediction is daily case prediction for six months starting from February 1, 2021, to June 30, 2021, using active cases daily COVID-19 data in all provinces in Indonesia. The highest monthly average case prediction is in June, which is 35,662 cases. Our COVID-19 prediction study has a mean absolute percentage error (MAPE) score of 15.85%.

The purpose of time series modelling is to predict future indicators based on the study and analysis of past and present data. Various time series methods are used for forecasting. The article uses econometric extrapolation research methods. Analyzed scientific works are related to extrapolation methods for forecasting time series. The dynamics of the financial formation related to results of Ukrainian insurance companies by the types of their activities have been analyzed. The main factors that determine the effectiveness are determined. It was found that the most rational approach to short-term forecasting of the financial results of insurers is the use of exponential smoothing. The optimal parameters are selected for the model of exponential smoothing of the first and second order by the method on the grid. The following indicators of the quality of the model were used: the mean value of the standard deviation of the model error to the actual data, Theils coefficient of discrepancy, mean absolute percentage error MARE. The net financial result of the activities of Ukrainian insurers was predicted, the lower and upper bounds of the forecast for 2021 for a reliability level of 0.95. To predict the net financial result of the activities of Ukrainian insurers, statistical data for 10 years from 2011 to 2020 were used, the financial results of the main (insurance and other operating) activities before tax, the results of financial activities before tax, the financial results of other ordinary activities (extraordinary events) before tax, income tax. The prototype of the software module for predicting the financial performance of insurance companies was developed in Statistica and Excel. Forecasting results based on the use of econometric modelling make it possible to identify permanent positive shifts in the domestic insurance market and the activities of insurers on it; to confirm the effectiveness of the adopted strategic and tactical financial decisions of insurance companies; to increase the efficiency of insurers management based on the results of quantitative determination the degree of influence of each factor on the formation of the financial results related to their activities; to identify trends in the development of the situation in the future, to more accurately form a set of measures to maximize profits and minimize costs of insurance companies to ensure guarantees of reliable insurance protection and satisfy the interests of their owners. Forecasting using fuzzy time series has been applied in several areas including forecasting university enrollments, sales, road accidents, financial forecasting, weather forecasting, etc. Recently, many researchers have paid attention to apply fuzzy time series in time series forecasting problems. In this paper, we present a new model to forecast the enrollments in the University of Alabama and the daily average temperature in Taipei, based on one-factor fuzzy time series. In this model, a new frequency based clustering technique is employed for partitioning the time series data sets into different intervals. For defuzzification function, two new principles are also incorporated in this model. In case of enrollments as well daily temperature forecasting, proposed model exhibits very small error rate.

This paper aimed to elaborates and compares the performance of Fuzzy Time Series (FTS) model with Markov Chain (MC) model in forecasting the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDRP) of Bali Province.  Both methods were considered as forecasting methods in soft modeling domain.  The data used was quarterly data of Bali’s GDRP for year 1992 through 2013 from Indonesian Bureau of Statistic at Denpasar Office.  Inspite of using the original data, rate of change from two consecutive quarters was used to model. From the in-sample forecasting conducted, we got the Average Forecas­ting Error Rate (AFER) for FTS dan MC models as much as 0,78 percent and 2,74 percent, respec­tively.  Based-on these findings, FTS outperformed MC in in-sample forecasting for GDRP of Bali’s data.

Import is one of the efforts of an area to meet the needs of its population in order to stabilize prices and maintain stock availability. The value of imports in Central Java throughout 2016 amounted to 8811.05 Million US Dollars. The value of imports in Central Java is the top 10 in all provinces in Indonesia with a percentage of 6.50%. Import data in Central Java is included in the time series data category. To maintain the stability of imports in Central Java, it is deemed necessary to make a plan based on a statistical model. One of the time series models that can be applied is the fuzzy time series model with the Chen method approach and the S. R. Singh method because the method is suitable for cyclical patterned data with monthly time periods such as Import data in Central Java. Important concepts in the preparation of the model are fuzzy sets, membership functions, set basic operators, fuzzy variables, universe sets and domains. The fuzzy time series modeling procedure is carried out through several stages, namely the determination of universe discourse which is divided into several intervals, then defines the fuzzy set so that it can be performed fuzzification. After that the fuzzy logical relations and fuzzy logical group relations are determined. The accuracy calculation in both methods uses symmetric Mean Absolute Percentage Error (sMAPE). In this study the sMAPE value obtained in the Fuzzy Time Series Chen method of 10.95% means that it shows good forecasting ability. While the sMAPE value on the Fuzzy Time Series method of S. R. Singh method by 5.50% shows very good forecasting ability. It can be concluded that the sMAPE value in the S. R. Singh fuzzy time series method is better than the Chen method.Keywords: Import value, fuzzy time series , Chen, S. R. Singh, sMAPE

Palladium is one of the precious metal commodities with the best performance since 3 years ago. Palladium has many benefits, including being used in the electronics, medical, jewelry and chemical industries. The benefits of palladium in the chemical field are that it can help speed up chemical reactions, filter out toxic gases in exhaust gases, and convert the gas into safer substances, so palladium is usually used as a catalyst for cars. Forecasting is a process of processing past data and projected for future interest using several mathematical models. The model used in this study is the Double Exponential Smoothing Holt and Fuzzy Time Series Chen methods. The process of forecasting palladium prices using monthly data from January 2011 to December 2020 with the Double Exponential Smoothing Holt method and the Fuzzy Time Series Chen method will be carried out in this study to describe the performance of the two methods. Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the Double Exponential Smoothing Holt and Fuzzy Time Series Chen methods have equally good performance with sMAPE values of 6.21% for Double Exponential Smoothing Holt and 9.554% for Fuzzy Time Series Chen. Forecasting for the next 3 periods using these two methods generally produces forecasting values that are close to the actual data.
