With nearly three million Sri Lankans living overseas, across the world, there is a significant role that can be played by this constituency in post-conflict reconciliation.  This paper will highlight the lessons learnt from a process facilitated by International Alert (IA) and led by the author, working to engage proactively with the diaspora on post-conflict reconciliation in Sri Lanka.  The paper shows that for any sustainable impact, it is also critical that opportunities are provided to diaspora members representing the different communities of the country to interact and develop horizontal relations, whilst also ensuring positive vertical relations with the state. The foundation of such effective engagement strategies is trust-building. Instilling trust and gaining confidence involves the integration of the diaspora into the national framework for development and reconciliation. This will allow them to share their human, social and cultural capital, as well as to foster economic growth by bridging their countries of residence and origin.

Since the empowerment of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) through an Act of Parliament in 1992, SEBI has come up with a number of initiatives aimed at regulating and developing the Indian securities market and improving its safety and efficiency. These initiatives have made an impact on nearly every aspect of the market. Some of those initiatives have transformed the market fundamentally. Particularly noteworthy is the growth in the following: Market capitalization Number of listed firms Trading volumes and turnover both in the spot and futures markets. There is a growing network of financial intermediaries that operate in a highly competitive environment while being governed by a tight set of norms. India has one of the most sophisticated new equity issuance markets. Disclosure requirements and the accounting policies followed by listed companies for producing financial information are comparable to the best regimes in the world. The Indian securities market is among the safest and the most efficient trading destinations internationally. The Indian corporate governance code is compared to the Sarbanes Oxley Act of the USA. India has one of the fastest growing and well-developed asset management businesses in the world, with state-owned as well as private sector players. That said, the Indian market is often hostage to some scam or the other from time to time. Effective enforcement of compliance is cited as one of the reasons for these unsavoury episodes. The role that SEBI's initiatives have played in bringing about this transformation of the market has not been researched comprehensively so far. Literature that has analysed the efficiency and the design of the Indian securities market has examined the role of certain specific regulatory provisions on the functioning of the securities market. So also the various annual reports of SEBI discuss the regulatory and other institutional developments that took place during the year under review. However, no attempt seems to have been made to take stock of all the various initiatives of SEBI so far and assess its impact on the activity in the securities market. This paper identifies some of the major interventions of SEBI relating to each of these aspects of the market and critically examines the economic consequences of the same. Such a stock-taking will enable a well-rounded and objective review of SEBI's performance. It is also likely to suggest interesting areas for further research.

Abstract. In recent years, there has been an increase in development of urbanization in the world. Nowadays, all communities in the world are concerned about current technological developments especially in terms of development and management that can facilitate their daily life. In urbanization, smart city is one of modernization changes that improves the infrastructure management, convenience and efficient for the life of citizens. Moreover, 3D asset management is one of the approach of smart city development. Asset management using the 3D concept has been witnessing a welcoming approach due to its high efficiency in organising multiple assets. 3D geometric extraction offers a perfect aid in recording information of an asset such as buildings. The model is derived from the reality techniques where the exterior surfaces of an object are captured in high resolution through the means of special equipment such as airborne imagery. From here, point clouds are generated where the sets of points based on the external surfaces of an object are present. Pre-processing of point clouds should be done in order to perform the 3D modelling. In dealing with point clouds, segmentations are used to investigate the structure of the object with information regarding to different level of sections. The boon behind this segmentation process is to identify different features that is available for the object. In this research, the aim is to analyse the different methodology and algorithm available to segment the point cloud data. Comparison between the results will be made to identify the advantages and disadvantages of the results for the use of asset management.

Haemophilic pseudotumors are very rare, encapsulated haematomas forms as a result of repetitive bleeding, forming a mass of clotted blood and necrosed tissue. Reported experience in the literature is limited to case reports and case series from around the world, reporting on smaller and medium sized pseudotumors. Conflicting opinion exists following failed medical management, which includes minimally invasive interventions through extensive surgery. We present our experience with the management of two of the largest soft tissue pseudotumors reported in the literature. We also provide some guidance, based on our experiences, for the future management of massive haemophilic pseudotumors.

This paper provides a summary of current sustainability issues and trends, primarily from an application perspective, which contributes to the state of the art of scholarly literature with implications for improved corporate governance. A leading sustainability advocate for better corporate governance is Larry Fink, who is the CEO of BlackRock, the world’s largest asset-management company with $6.3 trillion under management and offices in 30 countries and clients in over 100 countries. In January 2018, he sent a letter to all CEOs of public companies across the world to start accounting for the societal impact of their companies and to focus upon economic growth that is sustainable. Currently, a majority of S&P 500 companies have publicly disclosed their sustainability performances with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics. These ESG reporting companies had higher financial returns than their non-ESG reporting competitors. As gatekeepers for investors and other stakeholders, Boards of Directors should pay attention to these sustainability trends, related company performances, and opportunities for future company performance which should strengthen corporate governance.

Stability has become one of the basic requirements for the law from both theoretical and practical perspectives, especially for developing countries where laws are often changed and reformed with large scale and intensity. Despite its importance, the stability of the law has never had a thorough analysis as well as a consensus on the concepts, functions and roles in comparative law theories. This led to the application and development of criteria and methods to ensure the stability of the law in practice, ineffective, even failed. In this context, this article contributes to the analysis of the theory of legal stability in the world to provide a unified understanding. Thereby, initially proposing criteria and ways to ensure the stability of law in reality for Vietnam.
