In 1997, during the second ASEAN (Association of SouthEast Asian Nations) informal summit held in Kuala Lumpur, ASEAN Vision 2020 was adopted laying emphasis on integration of education and human capital development which was echoed in Hanoi Plan of Action (December 1997) and later on in Vientiane Action Programme (2004). During the first meeting of ASEAN Ministers of Education held at Singapore in 2006 the Cha-am Hua Declaration highlighted role of education in achieving enduring solidarity and unity among the nations and people of ASEAN. Recently an ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community Blueprint 2025 was launched in 2016 recommending an innovative ASEAN approach to higher education with the purpose to promote greater people-to-people interaction and mobility within and outside ASEAN. This chapter discusses policies and practices for internationalization of higher education in South East Asia and how it is strengthening regional and global cooperation.

One form of regional cooperation is followed by Indonesia with his participation as a member of ASEAN (Association of South East Asian Nations) which was established on the basis of the Bangkok Declaration, on 8 August 1967. By the 21st century, ASEAN agreed to develop an integrated regional by forming a community of nations in Southeast Asia open, peaceful, stable and prosperous, mutual care, tied together in a dynamic partnership in 2020. Expectations are outlined in the ASEAN vision 2020 in Kuala Lumpur in 1997. To realize these expectations ratify ASEAN Bali Concord II at the 9th ASEAN Summit in Bali in 2003 which approved the establishment of an ASEAN Community (ASEAN Community) and the target is accelerated into 2015. The result shows there is disharmony between 1945 to the international provisions of the AEC 2015 in which the rules on economic issues and social welfare in 1945 are listed in Chapter XIV National Economy and social welfare, Article 33 (1), (2), (3) and (4), while based on the AEC 2015 blueprint contains four pillar framework or MEA. Disharmony both conditions contained in 4 (four) things into focus, namely the harmonization of aspects of the legal principle, an agreement on the authority, goal setting and alignment settings on the environment and surrounding communities. Keywords: Disharmony, the Constitution 1945, Asean Economic Community

This study investigates further the previous paper by Shamsul Nahar and Al-Murisi (1997) by examining the interactive effects of the variables in that paper and introducing other variables associated with corporate governance and political costs. The present study postulated that percentage of external directors on audit committee interacted with the presence of an accountant on audit committee and with the number of years an audit committee in existence, respectively, to influence audit committee effectiveness. The study also posited that the interaction of the presence of an accountant on audit committee and the number of years an audit committee in existence positively and significantly influenced audit committee effectiveness. Addition. ally, the roles of leadership structure, audit committee chairman, and a firm's size on audit committee effectiveness were also investigated. Using a multiple regression from a sample consisting the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange listed companies, results showed that only a firm's size significantly influenced audit committee effectiveness in the predicted direction. Other variables, on the other hand, did not show any significant influence on audit committee effectiveness.

Thus, the purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between career development, compensation, job security, work environment and employee loyalty. In conducting this study, convenience sampling technique has been employed and respondents have been chosen in the area of Kuala Lumpur. Hypothesis were tested using regression analysis by using Smart-PLS. Based on the result, career development, compensation and job security were found to be significant with employee loyalty. However, work environment was found to be not significant with employee loyalty. It is suggested for future research to explore other variables in order to find the factors contributed in employee loyalty.
