Saat ini sektor konstruksi mulai melakukan upaya untuk mengurangi waste sekaligus meningkatkan value dengan mengadopsi teori produksi pada industri manufaktur kepada industri konstruksi yang disebut lean construction (konstruksi ramping). Sistem pengendalian produksi (production control) dengan konsep konstruksi ramping merupakan salah satu sistem dalam perencanaan dan pengendalian jadwal pekerjaan. Komponen yang terdapat konsep konstruksi ramping tersebut adalah sistem the Last Planner (LPS). Last Planner System belum banyak digunakan dan mempunyai potensi yang baik karena merupakan bagian dari komponen lean construction dimana dalam perencanaannya semua pihak dapat terlibat secara langsung dan terkoordinasi sehingga pekerjaan yang direncanakan dapat terkontrol dengan baik dalam pelaksanaannya. Setelah melakukan analisis progress kerja harian, LPS mempunyai indikator kinerja yang digunakan untuk mengukur sejauh mana aliran pekerjaan dapat tercapai dengan baik, adapun kontrol aliran kerja Last Planner System yaitu Master Plan, Phase Planning dan Pull Planning, Lookahead Planning, Constraints Analysis, Shielding Production, Weekly Work Plan dan Percent Plan Complete (PPC) sebagai standar untuk mengontrol unit-unit produksi, menentukan jadwal proyek, strategi pelaksanaan, dan lain-lain. Pada penelitian ini, hasil rata-rata PPC adalah 73%. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian dengan metode LPS ini yaitu untuk menganalisis implementasi konsep Last Planner System yang dibandingkan dengan progress aktual dalam meningkatkan reliabilitas pekerjaan harian dan Melakukan evaluasi kinerja pekerjaan kontraktor menggunakan LPS. Metodologi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan kurva S, data progress rencana dan aktual mingguan proyek juga dilakukan pengolahan data dengan konsep aliran kerja LPS. Untuk membuktikan bahwa perhitungan PPC yang dilakukan sesuai dengan kondisi di lokasi proyek, maka dilakukan perbandingan data dari hasil perhitungan PPC menggunakan LPS dengan progress data mingguan di lokasi proyek yang didapat dari pihak kontraktor. Dari hasil perbandingan data tersebut dapat dilihat bahwa hasil PPC mingguan tidak jauh berbeda dengan hasil data progress mingguan yang didapat dari pihak kontraktor. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa LPS dapat meningkatkan reabilitas perencanaan di atas 70% sehingga tingkat resiko terjadinya keterlambatan proyek akan semakin kecil.

The application of lean construction theory in building green substation was discussed. The study on integration of design-build indicated that the electric power design institute as the general contractor should change the mode of only setting up one secondary organization to manage the engineering, and should improve the management system and change the producing idea. The study on the combination of the last planner system and building the substation indicated that the measures of arranging the work and setting the workload reasonably and enhancing the supply of important resources etc. could increase the Percent Plan Complete of building the substation. At last, the 4-saving and 1-environmental protection measures of green construction of substation were brought out.

Abstract The construction industry is plagued by poor project performance and the adoption of lean construction is seen as a way to address this issue. Therefore, this research aims to assess the implementation of lean construction and its relationships with project performance in the Australian construction industry. Just in time, last planner system, Six Sigma, and 5S management are the four lean construction tools investigated in the research. Data were collected using a questionnaire survey from construction practitioners in Sydney, Australia. Results show that the implementation of these four tools is adequate, although some lean activities need to be implemented at a higher level. Lean construction also has strong correlations with many project performance indicators, demonstrating its value to the construction industry that is in a dire need of improvement. Finally, this research also recommends specific areas for improvements.

The present article’s main objective is to describe the synergies generated from the simultaneous application of the Last Planner System (LPS) and OHSAS 18001. We explain the main principles, tools, techniques and practices of the Lean Construction philosophy and LPS that integrate and make synergy with the elaboration of Safety and Health Study, the implementation of the Safety and Health Plan, and with the OHSAS 18001. The LPS elements are correlated with the OHSAS 18001 requirements: (1) Policy; (2) Planning; (3) Implementation and Operation; (4) Checking; and (5) Management Review. The methodology used to validate the proposal is based in a review of the published literature in the last years, in which information was quoted from the Conferences of the International Group for Lean Construction (IGLC), Lean Construction Journal, Lean Construction Institute, among others. This paper hopes to bring integration and collaborative work from the Production and the Safety and Health Department.ResumenEl presente artículo tiene como objetivo describir las sinergias generadas en la aplicación simultánea del Last Planner System (LPS) y la OHSAS 18001. Se explican los principios, herramientas, técnicas y prácticas de la filosofía Lean Construction y del LPS que integran y generan sinergia con la elaboración del Estudio de Seguridad y Salud, con la implementación del Plan de Seguridad y Salud y con la OHSAS 18001. Se relacionan los elementos del LPS con los requisitos OHSAS 18001: (1) Política; (2) Planificación; (3) Implementación y operación; (4) Verificación; y (5) Revisión por la Dirección. La metodología empleada para validar la propuesta se basa en una revisión de la literatura publicada en los últimos años, en la que se citó información de la Conferencia del International Group for Lean Construction (IGLC), Lean Construction Journal, Lean Construction Institute, entre otros. Este trabajo pretende aportar en la integración y el trabajo colaborativo del área de producción y del área de soporte de seguridad y salud.

Performance measurement has received substantial attention from researchers and the construction industry over the past two decades. This study sought to assess UK practitioners’ awareness of the importance of the use of appropriate performance measures and its role in supporting the application of Lean Construction (LC) concepts. To enable the study to achieve its objectives, a review of a range of measurements developed to evaluate project performance including those devoted to support LC efforts was conducted. Consequently a questionnaire survey was developed and sent to 198 professionals in the UK construction industry as well as a small sample of academics with an interest in LC. Results indicated that although practitioners recognise the importance of the selection of non-financial performance measures, it has not been properly and widely implemented. The study identified the most common techniques used by UK construction organisations for performance measurement, and ranked a number of non-financial key performance indicators as significant. Some professed to have embraced the Last Planner System methodology as a means for performance measurement and organisational learning, while further questioning suggested otherwise. It was also suggested that substance thinking amongst professionals could be a significant hidden barrier that militates against the successful implementation of LC.

The development of more effective management techniques has become essential for the improvement of working conditions within the company. The construction industry is characterized by unpredictable and fluctuating construction processes which increase the level of risk of accidents. In this context, this work aims at conducting a synthesis of the most reliable research in the field of safety management in order to study the contribution of Lean Construction practices in the promotion of safety. The study evaluates the potential effectiveness of Lean Construction tools such as (Last Planner System, Visual Management, 5S, Error-proofing) in promoting the safety on construction sites. This study shows that lean construction tools have a great potential to improve the safety performance. Several Lean Construction practices such as the correlation between scheduled tasks and the ability of the staff working on site, choosing of working methods in compliance with safety requirements, the incorporation of visual tools, and the Simplification of workflow could minimize the risk of accidents and promote the worker safety through minimizing hazards, motivating people involvement in the planning phase and preventing human errors.

Globally, the efficiency of the construction sector has declined around the world over the past 30 years. The main principles aimed at the improvement of the situation are based on lean construction. The concept of lean construction can be effectively used in the strategic process to improve waste reduction as well as cost and time efficiency, which results in positive outcomes such as environmental protection, economy and time-saving. Lean construction practices help to achieve significant benefits. However, many organisations still find it difficult to successfully and correctly integrate lean concepts. The research literature indicates that the construction industry has encountered poor implementation and integration of these concepts. Lean construction has eight main techniques for increasing productivity in implementing customer requirements in the construction industry. Having in mind that lean is the key requirement for gaining construction productivity, this paper provides the basic fundamental knowledge of lean construction. Also, it shows how to get the most effective results by applying the Last Planner System technique. The described case study demonstrates the integration of the Last Planner System technique into the project.

Two generally method / tools which used in project construction management system in Indonesia and the name are CPM (critical part method) or network planning and Bar Chart. The system used general method called conventional management system. Nowadays, was appeared one of a new system which seldom to applied in Indonesia, it is called LPS (last planner system). This research, researcher doing analyzed the differences between LPS and conventional management system. The result which obtained in this research are LPS dominated to accentuates team collaborative in the scheduling planning, resource allocation, control and enhance of work productivity, issue solved, regularly scheduling planning. Conventional management system more rely on the way CPM and Bar Chart working in that system with project manager decision. Planning of the schedule in this system doing by scheduling team. rescheduling in this system is not routine, it’s depend by construction progress. CPM and Bar Chart methods is influence on LPS. The both of methods was appeared in master scheduling, look a head scheduling, weekly work planning, shielding production, workable back log, percent plan completed and reliable promise process
