The present research was an exploratory research to study the predictors of achievement motivation of early adolescent girls- socio-economic status, intelligence and academic achievement. The sample of this research work consists of 132 girls studying in secondary schools of Pune City, Maharashtra. Projective test of achievement motivation by Deo-Mohan (1986) was used to measure achievement motivation. To assess economic, educational and social status of the family, Socio-economic scale was used, developed by Dubey and Nigam (2005). Raven’s (1960) Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM) was used measuring IQ. However, academic achievement of the students was determined on the basis of school mark percentages. Pearson’s correlation coefficients and stepwise multiple regression was done to investigate the best pattern of variables for predicting achievement motivation. Data analysis revealed that achievement motivation of students was significantly correlated with academic achievement. No significant correlation was found between scores of achievement motivation, intelligence and socio-economic status. Results of multiple regression revealed that academic achievement was significant predictor of achievement motivation.

Home environment factors affect the mental and psychological capability of the learner to attain academic feats. This study investigated home environment factors contributing to low academic performance in primary school pupils in Ghana focusing on the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Primary School in Kumasi. Home environment factors include socio-economic status, parental style and family size. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected from 120 learners and 60 parents of the institution using questionnaires and interview respectively. The results revealed that a significant number of pupils described their homes as not conducive for learning and this was largely attributed to the parental socio-economic status. Again, lack of parental involvement negatively influences the academic work of learners. The study concluded that parents should be encouraged to participate in regular Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings to learn more about parental styles and strategies to be more involved in their children’s education. This research work is to explore the role, status and perception of female education with respect to a budgetary change in District Peshawar. Education changes people leadership and makes them live with flexibility. The objectives were (i) To find the perception of female education regarding socio economic status (ii) to know the role of women as mother, wife and daughter, is to be assessed. The research study was restricted to Peshawar. For the administration of the study tool, a random sampling technique was used. A simple random sample, of 240 participants, of Peshawar District was chosen randomly. The main findings of the study included: (1) Somewhere between 5,001 and 10,000 Rs, wages of a mind sweeping number of respondents were consistent. In all cases, most respondents earned different settlement wells to Rs.5000; (2) the mostly respondents ensured criticality for the female as the directorate deals with budgetary problems and personality

<div><p><em>The present study aimed at the relationship between the socio-Economic Status and Academic Achievement among secondary school students of Prakasam District of Andhra Pradesh, India. A number of investigations conducted so far in the field of Socio Economic Status (SES) indicated a significant relation between achievement and SES.  After independence the SES of secondary school students in both urban and rural areas have registered a remarkable change.  On account of phenomenal advancement in science and technology the conditions of the people have changed a lot.</em></p><p><em>The data were collected from 200 secondary school students by using the tools socio-economic status tool measures the dimensions of educational, economic, social, cultural and occupational determinants.  The academic achievement tool consists of the test items of mathematics, general science and social studies.  Later the data were analyzed with the statistical procedures like mean, standard deviations, critical ratios, Chi-square test and r-values.  The results were discussed according to the significant values.  Based on the results certain conclusions were drawn. Over all observation of the study some educational implications were given.</em></p></div>

This study was on the impact of parents’ socio economic status on academic achievement of secondary schools agricultural students in Konsisha Local Government. Specific objectives for the study were: identify the impact of family structure on academic achievement of secondary school agricultural students in Konshisha Local Government, investigate the impact of parents’ educational background on academic achievement of secondary school agricultural students in Konshisha Local Government and ascertain the impact of parents’ income on academic achievement of secondary school agricultural students in Konshisha Local Government. Three research questions were raised and answered by the study. The design for the study was survey research design. Population for the study was 440 while purposive sampling technique was adopted for this study. A structured questionnaire titled: Parents’ Socio-economic Status Questionnaire (PSESQ) was used for data collection. The instrument was validated by three experts. Cronbach Alpha reliability method was used to determine the internal consistency of the instrument and a coefficient of 0.81 was obtained. All the administered copies of the questionnaire were retrieved and analyzed using Mean, Standard Deviation and t – test. It was found out that academic achievement of students in secondary schools could be impacted by 4 family structures, 6 parents’ educational background and 6 impact of parents’ income on academic achievement of students in secondary schools. It was therefore, recommended that, Students from good socio economic background should use the opportunity to attain good academic heights, parents should provide basic school needs for their children to enable them attain good academic heights and parents should seek varying sources of income so that they can meet up with the school needs of their children.
