AbstractSalinization of crop fields is a pressing matter for sustainable agriculture under desertification and is largely attributed to root absorptive functions of the major crops such as maize. The rates of water and ion absorption of intact root system of maize plants were measured under the salinized condition, and the salt absorptive function of maize roots was analyzed by applying different two kinetic models of root ion absorption (i.e. the concentration dependent model and the transpiration integrated model). The absorption rates for salinization ions (Na+, Cl−, Ca2+ and Mg2+) were found to depend on ion mass flow through roots driven by the transpiration, and therefore the transpiration integrated model represented more accurately rates of root ion absorption. The root absorption of salinization ions was characterized quantitatively by two model parameters of Q′max and K′M involved in the transpiration integrated model, which are considered to relate to the potential absorbing power and the ion affinity of transport proteins on root cell membranes, respectively.

Spelling is a window into a student's individual language system and, therefore, canprovide clues into the student's understanding, use, and integration of underlyinglinguistic skills. Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) should be involved in improvingstudents' literacy skills, including spelling, though frequently available measures ofspelling do not provide adequate information regarding critical underlying linguistic skillsthat contribute to spelling. This paper outlines a multilinguistic, integrated model of wordstudy (Masterson & Apel, 2007) that highlights the important influences of phonemicawareness, orthographic pattern awareness, semantic awareness, morphologicalawareness and mental graphemic representations on spelling. An SLP can analyze anindividual's misspellings to identify impairments in specific linguistic components andthen develop an individualized, appropriate intervention plan tailored to a child's uniquelinguistic profile, thus maximizing intervention success.

There are several medical drug addict treatment methods used by physicians and other health professionals worldwide. The community-based treatment and care for drug use and dependence have increased in popularity. However, little is known about whether or how Islamic spirituality model could be incorporated into formal treatment in the Muslim community. This study aimed to explore the Islamic integrated model for drug addict treatment and rehabilitation on Kratom use among Muslim adolescents in Krabi Province, Thailand. The focus group discussion and in-depth interview were carried out in chief officer, the staff of treatment service volunteers, program leaders, and families and friends of addicts during October 2017-December 2018. The results revealed that the implementation of integrated Islamic religious learning in the drug therapy session to grow the spiritual religiosity and lower relapse among Muslim youth who were previous kratom addicts. The Islamic faith-based treatment model could be declared the evidence of kratom recovery in community level.
