Instrumentation developed to monitor and characterize light pollution from the ground has helped frame our understanding of the impacts of artificial light at night (ALAN) [Bará, Lima, & Zamorano, 2019; Hänel et al., 2018; Zamorano et al., 2017]. All-sky imaging has been used to quantify and characterize ALAN in a variety of environments [D. M. Duriscoe, 2016; Jechow, Kyba, & Hölker, 2019]. Over the past decade growth in access to DIY electronics has afforded the opportunity for the development of new and affordable instrumentation for ALAN research. The GONet (Ground Observing Network) camera is an inexpensive (~USD 100), simple to use, all-sky imaging system designed to allow measurements of sky quality at night. Due to their ease of use and low price, GONet cameras allow observations by users with little technical expertise, large inter-comparison campaigns and deployments of opportunity. Developed as a student engineering project at the Adler Planetarium, initial field tests of the GONet system have demonstrated its utility as a tool that can benefit ALAN research. Here we present an overview of the design and use of the GONet device, methods of calibration, initial results from observations, potential use cases, and limitations of the system. What we describe here is the version 1 GONet camera. We conclude with a brief description of the version 2 unit already under development.

Abstract The improper use of artificial light causing skyglow is detrimental to many types of wildlife and can potentially cause irregular human sleeping patterns. Studies have been performed to analyze light pollution on a global scale. However, light pollution data on a local scale is not of ten available and the effects at local scale have rarely been studied. Herein, a new custom-designed autonomous light assessment drone (ALAD) is described for evaluating light pollution at local scale. The ALAD is designed and equipped with a sky quality meter (SQM) to measure skyglow and a low-cost illuminance sensor to measure light from artificial sources. Outdoor field tests are performed at a remote site in central Utah and the measured results are validated against data from lightpollution-map.info. The SQM measurements are in agreement with the estimates from the light pollution map, and the initial results demonstrate feasibility of the ALAD for local-scale skyglow assessment.

Abstract:A key addition to the series of papers on non - lethal and reversible weapons, as a trail to peace, creating confidence through technocracy, this paper is on the design of linear light pollution monitoring satellites for combating the ugly menace of night sky pollution and towards PID roles in the creation of DSS support based on SaaS services for precision use of EMI based sleep inducing payloads in very light drones, potentially replacing inaccurate drone bombing. Keywords: PID systems, GIS, Cognitive Geography, Panoptic segmentation, Mapillary, DSS systems, SaaS, EMI Delta Sleep,LiFi, Integration filters(™).What: A dual use technology based on SaaS computing to map point sources of light pollution on the surface of the Earth with filters to distinguish stationary and moving sources. Dual use of this technology in remedying light pollution of the night sky for minimal circadian rhythm disruption and allied health disorders, and in the creation of filters for PID systems , useful in use cases, of anti insurgency strategy, with sleep weapon EMI integration as drone payloads.(Bheemaiah, n.d.)How:Light pollution is mapped using a cubesat imaging system originally developed for LiFi last mile connectivity from street lamps for 6G networking, but instead adopted on the trail-map to peace as a Peace Weapon(™) in anti insurgency strategy. Why:PID systems using moving light sources are critical in detecting insurgency across the pakistan India border, the LOC can be monitored using the above cubesat for confidence building measures as a PID system, to deter infiltration by subversives, preventing expensive disruption by infiltration of sabotage minded subversives.(“[No Title]” n.d.), Similar conflicts calling for peaceful resolution by reversible lethality is called for in technocracy, an apolitical far right strategy towards lasting peace, as endowed by K.O.D(™) or the King Of Doves(™), a symbol of peace.

The use of unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) for geophysical exploration and environmental monitoring allows for flexible, quick, and effective surveys with high-resolution results. Developing and integrating a magnetic gradiometer with a UAS allows for geophysical exploration of magnetic subsurface features such as geologic structures, metal detection, or locating unexploded ordinances (UXOs). This paper presents the development of a magnetic gradiometer for integration with a UAS. The magnetic gradiometer is composed of two fluxgate magnetometers, two GPS receivers, and a microcontroller-based controlling and data-logging system. The components of the magnetic gradiometer system are lightweight and inexpensive, ideal for use with a UAS. Initial field tests for the magnetic gradiometer are discussed. The initial results demonstrate the magnetic gradiometer’s data coherency along with future improvements that will improve the design of the instrument.

AbstractProtecting the pavement subgrade to increase the service life of road pavements is an aspect currently being explored. Several alternative pavement subbase materials are being considered, including Lightweight Cellular Concrete (LCC). Due to its lower weight, LCC incorporating industrial by-product, making it sustainable, and ease of use amongst other benefits, is seen as a potential candidate. This paper reports reviewing the potential application of LCC within the pavement structure with a specific application as a subbase. It examines the various properties such as modulus of elasticity, compressive and tensile strength, Water absorption, and freeze-thaw resistance necessary for pavement application. It also assesses its use in the field in Canada considering the design methods utilized. Some limitations and gaps for LCC application in pavements are also established and recommendations on how to further its use and performance. This review concludes that LCC possesses potential as a pavement subbase alternative; however, other mechanical properties like LCC’s fatigue life is essential. A comparative field study is also recommended to monitor actual performance and various factors on performance.

Development of thematic teaching materials based on Islamic values, especially those related to the contents of the verses of the Alqur'an and / or hadith as the basis of all science. In the available books, there are no thematic teaching materials that are integrated with the Al-Quran and Hadith, as well as Islamic values ??that are able to implement the core competencies of the 2013 curriculum, namely the competence of spiritual attitudes in thematic learning. The formulation of this research is: (1) producing thematic teaching materials based on Islamic values ??theme 7 (Leadership) class 6 Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 2 Jember. (2) to determine the effectiveness of thematic teaching materials based on Islamic values ??in learning. This study uses a research and development research type, the Borg and Gall model which is divided into 10 steps, namely: (1) research and data collection (2) planning, (3) product draft development, (4) initial field trials, ( 5) revising the results of trials, (6) field trials, (7) improving products from field tests, (8) conducting field trials, (9) improving product results, and (10) disseminating and implementing. The testing technique was carried out by comparing the pre-test and post-test values. The data was calculated using the t-test and processed using the SPSS application to determine the effectiveness of teaching materials. The results of this study indicate: the validation test produces an average of 88.79% with the criteria that the book is very suitable for use in learning. In terms of attractiveness, this book is very interesting to use for students, this is based on the results of the questionnaire data given to students with an average of 88.24% with very attractive qualifications. Meanwhile, from the results of the pre-test and post-test based on the t count which shows that it is greater than the t table, it means that the book is effective for use in learning. Keywords: Teaching Materials; Thematic Learning; Islamic Value Pengembangan bahan ajar tematik berbasis nilai keislaman, terutama yang terkait dengan isi ayat Alqur'an dan/atau hadits sebagai dasar dari semua sains.
