Integrating gamification into mobile payment platform incentivizes people to use digital alternatives for payment and could spur user-centric, platform-mediated interactions. This study examines the relationship between perceived convenience and perceived security on individual users’ intention to use a gamified mobile payment platform in Malaysia; a developing country envisioned to build a cashless society. The partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) technique is employed on a final sample of 388 online users. The results show that perceived convenience has a strong but indirect effect on the intention to use. Perceived security has a strong and direct effect on intention to use and mediates the relationship between perceived convenience and intention to use. Furthermore, the reliability aspect of security is a top priority concern for users interested in using mobile payment. The multi-functional aspect of convenience is a top priority concern to attract users who are not interested in using mobile payment at first. The study discusses theoretical and practical implications for developing a dual strategy of ‘ensuring convenience’ and ‘assuring security’ to encourage the gamified mobile payment platform adoption in developing countries.

Although prior studies draw upon natural resource-based views, environmental strategy permits competitive advantages, and as such, gains financial performance. However, empirical results are mixed. To shed light on this issue, this study proposes that environmental performance mediates the link between environmental strategy and financial performance. Data were collected from 175 third-party logistic providers currently operating in Vietnam to test the hypotheses. Partial least square structural equation modeling was borrowed to test the data. The results reveal environmental performance partially mediates the link between environmental strategy and financial performance. By considering the mediating effect, this study contributes to the literature by addressing the intervening mechanism of environmental performance on the inconclusive relationship between environmental strategy and financial performance. Besides, this study also extends prior studies by borrowing a concept of environmental strategy, which captures the extent of organizations pursuing this strategy, to explain how and why pursuing this strategy permits environmental and financial performance.

Although advertisement is considered as an attention-grabbing tool, however, existing literature largely ignored whether such advertisement has any effect on children to recall the advertised products. This study thus aims to examine the effects of television advertisement on children’ purchase intention through the mediating role of advertisement recall in the Asian context. Since the target population is unknown, a non-probability sampling based convenient sampling approach was used to collect data. Data were collected from 245 parents of their 448 children in the context of confectionary products in Bangladesh. Partial least square based structural equation modeling was used to analyze the collected data. The results show that information, entertainment and product packaging displayed in advertisement significantly affect children’ advertisement recall. Advertisement recall is also found to have influence on children’ purchase intentions. Further, advertisement recall fully mediates in the relationships between information and purchase intentions; entertainment and purchase intentions; and packaging and purchase intentions. This study also offers significant theoretical and managerial implications.
