ABSTRACTThis research is intended to analyze and describe the Socio-Economic Impact of the Ikat Weaving Women's Group Empowerment Program in Letmaffo Village, Insana Tengah District, North Central Timor Regency. To answer this problem, it is supported by various theories that have relevance to the research phenomenon. This research is a qualitative study using the Milles and Huberman data analysis technique. The results of the study explain that the socio-economic impact on the weaving empowerment group also faces many obstacles, namely related to indicators of increasing household economy, this has not been going well because the economic income of group members has even decreased due to low productivity results and low prices woven fabrics in the market, another obstacle is the indicator of the development of the group's economic structure on this indicator, the goal is that this group of weaving ties must have a market place or place to market productivity results but this has not been achieved so that the village of Letmaffo weaving group still uses the long time in sales even productivity. The factors that support and hinder the socio-economic impact on the empowerment of the Letmaffo village weaving group are lack of capital, limited human resources, weak business networks, use of traditional production tools and limited market access.Key words: socio-economic impact, empowerment of the weaving group.

The COVID-19 pandemic, which has provided the basis for creating a highly problematic environment in every sector of the world today has also had a significant impact on the fisheries industry which is one of the world’s leading economic activities. The main objective of this study was to examine the socio-economic impacts on fisheries industry before and during COVID-19 pandemic situation with special reference to Tangalle Divisional Secretariat Division. The study was based on the four Grama Niladhari Divisions of Kudawella North, Central, South and West associated with the Kudawella Fisheries Harbor. Primary data was collected from a field survey using a semi structured questionnaire from 74 fishing families representing the 75% of the population under stratified random sampling. Paired T test was carried out to test the variables comparatively before and after COVID-19 pandemic to confirm the result statistically. In addition, simple statistical methods were used for the quantitative assessment. Results revealed that the epidemic situation had a significant socio-economic impact on the fishing industry during the COVID-19 pandemic situation such as declining income, growth of indebtedness, disruption of children’s education, mental distress and social stigma. Suggestions were identified to mitigate the impacts. In this context, it was concluded that the COVID-19 epidemic has primarily affected the fisheries industry and as a result, created many socio-economic problems for the fisheries community.

The purpose of this research is to identify the community empowerment which was held in the Buru Regency since the year 2005 to 2014. The results of the identification into a material formulation to find the model of empowerment that is more flexible and the substance. The approach used in this research using methods qualitative with the approach of the description, determination of informants using purposive with consideration of the informants is considered as related parties to achieve the research objectives. The research was conducted in 8 villages randomly selected by considering the characteristics of the community in the Buru Regency. This study uses data collection techniques of observation, in-depth interviews and focuses group discussions. Data analysis technique used to follow the concept of Miles, Huberman, and Spradley. The results of the analysis of the data shows during the period 2005-2014 the implementation of empowerment in Buru Regency has not yet reached the value of the substance is visible of the low level of community understanding of the program overlapping the implementation of the program and the regional center as well as the dependence of the program on the system of budgeting. The results of the formulation of the empowerment model indicate there need to be changed in the pattern of implementation of the empowerment program, namely the integration of community empowerment programs at the level of structure and operation. Hall program becomes central to the implementation of the program in a top-down and vice versa as well as have channels to avoid the buildup of empowerment programs in the area. Thus, the expected empowerment program more flexible to achieve the values of substantial and able to provide a solution to the problem of poverty.

The purpose of this study was to describe the economic impact of agro-tourism development on PTPN XII plantation workers Sirah Kencong Blitar. The method used is qualitative. Determination of informants is using purposive sampling techniques. In this study, informants are community leaders (RT / RW), village elders or people who have lived in the Sirah Kencong tea plantation area, local government, tourism management, and several residents concerned in the management of the tourism area. Data collection techniques are done by observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Test the validity of the data using triangulation techniques. The analysis technique uses an interactive model. The theory used is the Cohen Tourism Socio-Economic Impact theory. The results showed that: 1) The development of agrotourism had economic and social impacts as a continuation for the community, namely in the financial aspect made the increase in job vacancies and increased income from various employment sectors related to tourism 2) the development of the economic sector, such as stalls, shops, souvenir merchants, etc. 3) For the social aspects of the development of Sirah Kencong agro-tourism, there are several impacts for the community, namely increasing the ability of the community in the field of tourism, in social aspects, they become more understanding of how to dress well, communicate well, and also the level education is increasing because of the development of tourism. Community empowerment is a form of development which directly involves the community. In community empowerment program, the position of the community is as program consumer but as program producer instead. Community empowerment aims to achieve community independence and welfare. Zakat is a subsystem which can support community empowerment program. It’s consistent with the objective of zakat, which is material and spiritual wellbeing. To encourage the success of the program, there should be support from various parties, including companion and social capital supports.The purpose of the present study was determining the direct effects of companion and social capital on participant of zakat recipient and its impact of economic performance of zakat-receiving micro businessman. The present study used primary data by involving 72 zakat-receiving micro businesspeople (mustahik businesspeople) in Wonosari Sub-district, Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The research instrument was questionnaire with likert-5 scale which has high reliability and validity based on Cronbah Alpha and Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin values. The empirical model was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).The result of hypothesis test shows that companion and social capital affected the participation of zakat recipient, and the participation of zakat recipient affected the economic performance of zakat-receiving micro businessman.
