The advancement of Information Technology alters various aspects of human life, including learning. In the present era, on-line learning facilities are provided by institutions, ranging from formal higher education to open course-ware providers. On-line learning or e-learning is mostly achieved through stored media that widely available. These media take forms in various formats such as text and images, slide that equipped with narration from the lecturer, or a video where the lecturer appears inside the frames. We conducted a research about how students would response to the available learning media. The research was conducted with repetitive measures. Each measurement was a module that divided into three parts, where each part was presented to the student as one out of three media listed above. Hence we had three media types for each module. Each module took one week, and at the next week we gather their responses through evaluation forms. All modules were completed in six consecutive weeks. After all modules were completed, we analyze their responses and found that our samples responded best to the video with the appearance of the instructor/lecturer, then the slide with audio, and finally text and images.

Palavras-chave: Modelos de tutoria; Educação a distância; e-Learning; Universidades abertas.?Tutoring and Tutor in Distance Education: Portraits of the Present versus Visions for the FutureAbstract This paper presents a case study in its preliminary stage. It relies on the hypothesis that tutoring at a Distance and e-Learning, in higher education, is based on pedagogical and organizational models and leads to several different practices, requiring specific skills from the Tutor. A course is presented which is aimed at teachers, tutors and trainers . The research used a questionnaire to collect data about the level of satisfaction with the course and the perception of students about the learning success, as well as an analysis digital conceptual maps created by the participants. The research aims to contribute to the debate on current and future models and practices in distance education tutoring and to the improvement of future editions of the course. The results indicate that the course (objectives, methodology and curriculum) largely meets the expectations of the participants and academic requirements. It is important to deepen the knowledge in the field of tutoring models and practices, as well as the role and functions to perform by tutors--actors who face challenges set by emerging technologies and pedagogies. Keywords: Tutoring models; Distance education; e-Learning; Open universities.

Most universities make use of e-learning facilities to manage and deliver on-line learning. Many universities have adopted an approach to teaching and the delivery of course content that combines traditional face-to-face delivery with online teaching resources: a blended learning approach. Many factors act to determine how online learning is adopted, accepted, and the balance between online and face-to-face delivery is formed. In this paper, the authors suggest that educational technology adoption decisions are made at three levels: strategic decisions are made by the university to implement a particular package, and then individual academics made adoption decisions regarding those aspects of the package they will use in their teaching and how they will use them. They also make a decision on the balance they will have between on-line and face-to-face teaching. This article questions how decisions are made to adopt one e-learning package rather than another. The authors then examine how individual academics relate to this technology once it is adopted and make use of it to deliver some or all of their teaching and determine the appropriate blend.
