RESUMENEl presente trabajo busca determinar la relación que existe entre la Administración del Conocimiento con la flexibilidad de la empresa. Es una investigación transversal, no experimental, y cuantitativa, por lo tanto se realizó una encuesta a 149 empresarios en Aguascalientes, México. Para determinar el impacto, se realizó primeramente un análisis de correlación entre ambos constructos, posteriormente un análisis de regresión lineal simple, con apoyo del SPSS-19. El resultado es que existe correlación positiva y significativa, por lo tanto al trabajar consistentemente para reforzar la administración del conocimiento, mejorará significativamente la flexibilidad en la empresa.Palabras clave: flexibilidad, administración del conocimiento, dimensiones de la flexibilidad, dimensiones de la administración del conocimiento.The knowledge management and the efect against the flexibilityABSTRACTThis paper aim determines the relationship between knowledge management and the flexibility in the enterprise. This current study is among the very few investigations, which seeks the relationship between knowledge management and sustainable organizational innovation in garment business firms. This investigation focused on examining how organizational learning mediates the relationship between knowledge management and sustainable organizational innovation. This research establishes that knowledge management and organizational innovation procedures are integral parts of the progress and survival of the organizations. The received data of this population reports on the garment firms, operating their businesses in Lahore and Gujranwala. The study applied a stratified random sampling method for data collection and employed structural equation modeling (SEM) to examine the hypothesized relationships. The results specify that knowledge management shows a significant positive association with organizational learning, which in turn reveals a positive linkage to sustainable organizational innovation in SMEs of the garment industry. The study results also specify that organizational learning mediates the relationship between knowledge management and sustainable organizational innovation. This research survey identifies the significance of knowledge management and organizational learning in executing the process of organizational innovation, and it helps business managers to understand organizational learning as a mediator, which in turn indicates the benefits of knowledge management in achieving sustainable organizational innovation. This review provides an empirical indication of original data to investigate the linkage between knowledge management, sustainable innovation process, and organizational learning culture in the Pakistani garment sector. The generalizability of the study fallouts is restricted to the garment industry, and it offers valuable insights for imminent researchers.

Purpose This study aims to shed light on the internal and external antecedents of open innovation (OI) in the context of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with a special focus on the role of knowledge management (KM) capability. The paper develops and tests an integrative research model which assesses the effect of internal factors on KM capability; the impact of organizational and external factors, namely, KM capability and environmental dynamism, on OI; and whether environmental dynamism moderates the relationship between KM capability and OI. Design/methodology/approach Drawing on the knowledge-based view and the social exchange and the contingency theories, this paper develops an integrative research model which analyzes several relations between organizational antecedents of KM capability and its effect on OI by using covariance-based structural equation modeling on a data set of Spanish SMEs. Findings Results confirm that information technology-supported operations and commitment-based human resource practices have a positive and significant influence on KM capability. In contrast, results do not find support for the relationship between interdepartmental connectedness and KM capability, whereas both KM capability and environmental dynamism have a direct influence on OI. Originality/value This paper adds to existing research on OI, as it is the first study that addresses the critical role of KM capability for the implementation of OI.

<p><strong>Purpose</strong>–This study aims to explore the impact of Knowledge Management Capabilities (KMC), captured by six dimensions, on product innovation in Information Technology (IT) Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).</p><p><strong>Design/methodology/approach</strong>– Survey data were collected from 300 managers in (45) IT SMEs located in Jordan. SPSS was employed to analyze the data.</p><p><strong>Findings</strong>–Two key findings emerged: first, among the six dimensions of KMC, only acquisition, sharing, application, and protection were found to be positively associated with products innovation, whereas knowledge creation and storing were not. Second, no significant differences were identified in employees' answers due to company size.</p><p><strong>Research limitations/implications</strong> – This study was restricted to small and medium size enterprises, and therefore, the findings of this study may not be generalized to large enterprises. Additionally, this study was confined to the Jordanian IT sector only, thus, the findings need to be interpreted with cautious as they may not be generalized to other sectors.</p><p><strong>Originality/value</strong> – this study advances our understanding of the nature of the relationship between knowledge and innovation.</p>

The relationship between knowledge management (KM) and firm performance is an interesting field for both scholars and practitioners. Despite the extant literature, more studies are required in order to clarify the abovementioned relationship. The purpose of this article is to examine the impact of KM practices on financial and nonfinancial performance. KM practices are knowledge creation practices, continuous learning practices (CLP), knowledge and feedback systems (KFS), and management of employees’ individual competencies. Methodologically the study uses partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results show that KFS affect firms’ financial performance and that CLP do not influence oneither financial or nonfinancial performance.

With the emergence of knowledge management (KM) as a new discipline for studying what needs to be done in order to get the most out of organizational knowledge resources, linking knowledge management and innovation becomes a necessity. Nevertheless, there are few studies that address the relationship between KM and innovation. While the thing- and process-oriented approaches adopted in these studies are helpful in understanding the relationship between knowledge management concepts and innovation concepts, they have failed to account for the impact of this relationship on the effectiveness of the innovation process. In order to study this impact, cognitive fit theory is used to develop a model that describes how the compatibility between knowledge manipulating activities and the type of knowledge associated with innovation will affect the success of the innovation process.

<p>The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between human resource management (HRM) practices and organizational performance on the basis of 247 valid and reliable questionnaires distributed to managers at different management levels working in Jordanian manufacturing firms. The study also aimed to explore the mediating role of knowledge management as well as the moderating effect of organizational culture on the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance. Ten HRM practices and 10 indicators of organizational performance were adopted for the purpose of this study. Knowledge management was measured by examining three processes; knowledge creation, sharing and utilization. Organizational culture was measured according to passive/defensive, aggressive/defensive and constructive cultures. The results of the study supported the presumed hypotheses. Hence, HRM practices significantly predicted organizational performance. Knowledge management mediated the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance. Finally, it was found that organizational culture moderated the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance as well as the relationship between HRM practices and knowledge management. Constructive cultures play a positive role in the relationship between HRM practices and organizational performance (OP), while defensive cultures negatively affect the relationship between HRM practices and knowledge management (KM). The main contribution of this study to the literature on HRM, KM and OP derives from the lack of prior studies addressing the same purposes as this study. The study informs researchers and managers that both knowledge management and organizational culture mediate and moderate the impact of HRM practices on organizational performance to a considerable extent.</p>

This study investigates the impact of service management on guest satisfaction in the hotel industry in five medium hotels in Abeokuta, Southwest Nigeria. A sample size of 154 was selected for the study, in which 102 usable responses were analyzed in inferential statistics for means and standard deviation. Pearson correlation, Analysis of Variance, and Ordinary List Squares were compared to measure relationships between variables through the formulated hypotheses for the study. Findings revealed a significant relationship between sufficient service management and guest satisfaction, while the relationship between guest goodwill and service management in the study area is not statistically significant. The study recommends the essentiality for the employer to provide adequate motivation to enhance workforce dedication to facilitate guest satisfaction.

Institutional accounting functions are critical actors in the success of every organisation and emphasise distinct effectiveness compared to other practices. Meanwhile existing research has examined general knowledge management (KM) and its association with effectiveness at an overall institutional level. However, studies on the impact of KM capabilities on institutional accounting functional effectiveness (FE) is sparse. This study evaluates the impact of KM on institutional accounting FE based on resource-based theory (RBT) at various levels of analysis. Utilising empirical evidence, accounting knowledge management (AKM)-based effectiveness model was developed. Data were collected through a questionnaire survey of accounting officers in public research institutions in Malaysia. The study data were initially analysed using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 23.0 and hypothesised relationship tested via partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). Interestingly, the results provide support for the developed research AKM model underpinned by RBT viewpoint. AKM infrastructure (AKMI) and process capabilities impact institutional accounting FE significantly and AKM process capability partially mediates the influence of AKMI capability. The study offers new insight into the relationship between KM and institutional accounting practices. Thus, they create avenues for future research and directions for KM policy decisions in institutions.

This is a longitudinal case study that explored the relationship between use of organizational memory and knowledge, knowledge management, and knowledge worker productivity within the engineering group at a nuclear power plant. Three data points were taken over five years. The group used a knowledge management system (KMS) and it was found that the system improved effectiveness/productivity of the organization. The organization had not identified measures for determining productivity improvements, so the key results of the case study are models showing the impact of knowledge use on productivity.

There has been an increasing interest in the use of Web 2.0 applications to enhance the effectiveness of internal communication and improve knowledge management within the organization. However, extant Web 2.0 research has focused on the implementation, adaption patterns, and benefits, and little has been done to empirically examine the determinants of continuance use of Web 2.0 within the organization and its impact on knowledge performance. The objective of this study is to empirically examine the impact of both hedonic and utilitarian performance on the intention of knowledge workers to continue to use Web 2.0 applications within an organization, and then investigate the influence of the continuance use decision on knowledge management performance. The proposed model is tested using a survey of knowledge workers using Web 2.0 applications in their organizations. The results of the PLS analysis empirically validate the relationship between antecedents, continuance use, and knowledge management performance. Research and managerial implications of our findings are presented.
