The purpose of this paper is to study the impact of the Human Resources Development (HRD) on the performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Kosovo. There is a large volume of research that support the positive relationship between HRD and the organizational performance. Most of such research was conducted in the developed countries and to a lesser extent in the developing countries (countries in transit). Through this study we confirmed the impact of the investments in various forms of HRD in the performance of the SMEs in Kosovo. This study provides empirical data that support the impact of training and development, career development and motivation of employees on organizational performance, but the results of this study do not support the impact of the education of entrepreneurs on the organizational performance.

Over the last twenty years the impact of language in international and multinational companies has attracted significant scholarly attention, which is reflected in the growing literature. However, and despite the fact that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) constitute the engine of numerous economies worldwide, the impact of foreign languages on SMEs’ performance remains understudied. This is especially intricate because, considering that SMEs often have fewer resources, the commitment of such resources to language acquisition and foreign language education can only be justified in the case of improved performance. To address this gap, the objective of our research aims to get insights whether and how the domain of a foreign language (mainly English) affects SMEs’ performance. For this purpose, we perform an exploratory empirical study based on data collected through a telephone questionnaire during the first semester of 2017. A group of private Spanish SMEs constitutes our sample. Our work presents the results of the statistical analysis of these primary data, and contributes to a more nuanced perspective on language utility for organizational performance.

The study aims at finding the results of applying the criteria of governance on the development of human resources in the big local organizations in Qalqilya. It also attempts to find the importance, criteria and indications of governance and requirements to measure their effects on human resources development. The researcher used the analytical descriptive method to achieve the aims using a questionnaire designed for the purpose. It was distributed to a random sample of 20% of local organizations’ workers in Qalqilya, Azzoun, Hablah, Kufr-Thulth and Jayyous. The results of the study assured the positive effective role of applying the governance on the human resources development in the local organizations in Qalqilya without being affected by the variables of gender, organization’s location, nature of position, qualifications and experience. The researcher recommended the necessity of adopting the concept of governance by the local organizations and applying its principles and criteria there, in addition to consolidating the tasks of censorship by following, practising and implementing the criteria of governance in the big local organizations.

The construction of X Cigarette Factory’s Material Order and Warehousing Management System is underway, at the same time, the new system and the office automation system, the production execution system and the automated logistics system can form an integral enterprise business that operates on the basis of supply chain. It is necessary to be point out that it is an approach with Chinese characteristics on developing information system: compared with integrative and Process Reengineering construction model of the developed countries, most Chinese enterprises like X Cigarette Factory tend to develop information system gradually and by outsourcing partly subject to financial, staff and process stability factors. X Cigarette Factory’s practices and experiences can gave an inspiration to other small and medium enterprises in China.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused serious and long-term disturbances in people's lives all over the world, in both developing and developed countries. This has led to financial crisis and great depression in the GDPs of many countries. It has not only impacted the Multi-National Businesses (MNCs) but also disturbed the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and life’s of man vulnerable people. As part of the global response to COVID-19, the digital technology industry especially Fintech (Financial Technology) has been instrumental in creating and delivering services and technologies that have mitigated, at least in part, the pandemic's effect on multiple aspects of people's lives in every part of the world. The Fintech companies and Start-ups have played a tremendous role in mitigating the inconvenience for the common people by implementing the next generation solutions for everyone and the people were quick to adopt to such a change. The interest and surge of usage of Fintech applications (Digital applications related to Finance/Payments/Banking/Ecommerce) carries in preserving people’s livelihoods and businesses that have been, and continue to be, threatened by the pandemic COVID-19. This working paper will discuss about the impact of digital payments in the developing country like India during COVID-19, Pre-COVID-19, evolution of digital transformation in India from the past few years, People adoption to digital technologies, digital literacy intensification in emerging markets and also discusses the future trends of Fintech and its impact on consumers and businesses even after the pandemic ends.

The study aim to examine the impact of educational leadership on human resources development of Jordanian university. The study is an analysis descriptive research and the methods will be use survey in order to collect information needed for get the results. The population of the study includes all Jordanian universities. The sample of the study will includes (200) professors working in governmental universities located in Amman city. The study results indicated that there are positive attitudes towards educational leadership, the study also indicated that there are positive attitudes towards variables: communication, learning, influence, confidence, and knowledge. The study results accept main hypotheses that states: There is a statistically significant impact of educational leadership on human resources development of Jordanian university. The study results also accept the first three sub hypothesis which related to the impact of (communication, learning, and influence) on human resources development of Jordanian university, but the study results reject the sub hypothesis which related to the impact of (confidence, and knowledge). The study recommended to identify best practices in leadership styles, for positive change at the university, and how to increase the absorption of the change points when their employees, and to support and provide all the resources that help educational leadership in order to achieve: communication, learning, influence, confidence, and knowledge.

Purpose The study aims to explore the extent to which human resources development quantifies the economic growth of BRICS countries under the globalization era by controlling country differences. Design/methodology/approach The study used the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) and Scheffe pairwise comparison tests to quantify the impact of the variables and the level of difference among the BRICS countries onto human Resources development. Findings The study observes that the impact of human resources development on economic growth of BRICS counties is significant but limited to few countries. The study reveals that countries such as India and South Africa are unable to utilize their human resources efficiently to promote economic growth, as compared with Russia, China and Brazil. The study further argues that there is urgent need of amalgam of various economic development theories keeping in mind the regional needs to extract the positive impact from human resource on economic development. Research limitations/implications The single limitation of this research is that it was not possible to compare the results with other developing countries to unleash the capabilities of human resources development with regard to economic growth at the universal level. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is the first of its kind to analyze human resources development at a much deeper level. The paper has chosen variables which are important from the policy perspective of government rather than the working perspective, which is a great contribution. Further, for human index the variables chose covering major aspects of human development from spending perspective.

This study aimed to investigate the impact of human resources development strategy on achieving the sustainable organizational excellence in the Yemeni banks. To achieve this objective, the analytical descriptive method was used. The study population consisted of 1314 employees from 10 Yemeni banks. The study sample of (306) was selected by using a non-stratified random method. The data were collected by a questionnaire. The collected data were processed and analyzed using the SPSS.  The results of the study revealed that there was a discrepancy in the impact of the variables of the human resources development strategy on achieving the sustainable organizational excellence in the Yemeni banks. The highest degree of impact was found in the variable of innovation development strategy, whereas the lowest degree of impact was found in the human resources training strategy. In light of the findings, the study recommends that the Yemeni banks need to enhance the emphasis on achieving the sustainable organizational excellence of all dimensions and increase their attention to the implementation of human resource development strategy of all dimensions as this has a positive impact on achieving the sustainable organizational excellence.
