Since the automobile is one of Indonesia’s value-added commodities with the highest export potency, this paper attempts to investigate the competitiveness of Indonesian automobile in the Middle-east countries by employing the RSCA index and the EPD. The RSCA indices from the selected Middle-east countries reveal that the Indonesian automobile has a comparative advantage in Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, SA, and the UAE while Egypt and Jordan show a comparative disadvantage. The export competitiveness stability has medium to extreme fluctuations, particularly in Lebanon and the UAE, and shows an increasing trend only in Jordan and Qatar. The EPD matrix displays that Indonesia has Rising Star positions in Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, and SA. While Falling Star positions are shown in Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, and the UAE. Indonesia should focus on SUV export development since this model has the highest demand in the Middle-east countries.

In this paper, primarily the export specialisation pattern of Vietnam has been examined from the perspective of domestic value added exports. In addition, an effort has been made to identify presence of exaggeration in gross exports measures of industries level competitiveness. Empirical findings suggest that the export specialisation of Vietnam has reversed, and there is presence of exaggeration in the estimates of comparative advantage of ‘human capital and technology intensive’ industries that has also caused in ballooning up their shares in gross exports. Such pattern has arisen because intra-industry trade has become increasingly significant in Vietnam. Received 11th March 2019; Revised 17th October 2019, Accepted 20th October 2019

The author assumes that setting the target of creating an international financial center in Russia is caused by the international competition for maximizing national share in value-added chains in modern industries and for human resources capable of creating the value-added. Having analyzed the historical evolution of international financial centers the author opts for pursuing the aim of turning Moscow into the regional center for the CIS, CEE and / or Middle East countries. To achieve it, some measures are proposed, including motivating international companies and banks to transfer their regional headquarters to Moscow.

In recent years, obesity and overweight has been recognized as a rising public issue in all countries in the world, especially among Middle-Eastern countries. From 1980 when the prevalence of obesity more than doubled, individual studies have been published. However, no evidence is collated on the overall problem in Middle East. Objective: to systematically review the prevalence of obesity/overweight in Middle East region. Methods: a systematic review of studies, which measured prevalence of obesity/overweight in countries of Middle East. Results were given separately for women/men and urban/rural participants. Results: In this review, ten studies were selected and included. All studies were conducted in Middle East countries in different time periods. Final analysis showed that overall, prevalence of obesity and overweight are increasing trend in this region. In addition, it was demonstrated that females are more overweight and obese. 31-59 age groups had the highest prevalence of obesity/overweight among both sexes. Urban participants are more obese and overweight than rural. Conclusion: Prevalence of obesity and overweight has increasing trend in Middle East Region. That is why; governments of this region should develop special programs and actions, which will consider specific cultural and social barriers of Middle East.

: Nowadays, due to the incidence of specific strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and also increase the rate of drug resistant-TB mortality rate has elevated by this disease. Identification of common strains in the region as well as sources of transmission are essential to control the disease that this has been possible by using molecular epidemiology. In this survey, studies which have been carried out based on spoligotyping method in Muslim Middle East countries were considered to determine their role in control of TB. All studies conducted from 2005 to June 2016 were considered systematically in three electronic data bases and finally, 23 studies were selected. The average rate of clustering was 84% and the rate of recent transmission was variable from 21.7% to 92.4%. Incidence of Beijing strains was been rising in the considered countries. In Iran and Saudi Arabia which are immigration and labour-hosting countries, respectively, rapid transmittable strains and drug resistant Beijings were higher than other considered countries. Considering the incidence of highly virulent strains, due to the increase of immigration and people infected with HIV, tuberculosis, especially drug resistant form, the lack of close monitoring in the future will be induce trouble.

Abstract Sustainable economic growth and identifying factors affecting it are among the important issues which have always received attention from researchers of different countries. Accordingly, one of the factors affecting economic growth, which has received attention from researchers in the developed countries over recent years, is the issue of environmental technologies that enter the economic cycle of other countries after being patented through technology transfer. The current research investigated the role of the environment-related patents and the effects of the patented technological innovations compatible with climate change mitigation on the economic growth and development in the Middle East countries within a specific time period. The required data were gathered from the valid global databases, including Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and World Bank and have been analyzed using multi-linear regression methods and econometric models with Eviews 10 software. The obtained results with 95% confidence level show that the environmental patents (β = 0.02) and environment management (β = 0.04) and technologies related to the climate change mitigation (β = 0.02) have a significant positive impact on the sustainable economic development and growth rate in the studied countries. Such a study helps innovators and policymakers in policy decisions related to sustainable development programs from the perspective of environmentally friendly technologies by demonstrating the role of patents in three important environmental areas, namely environmental management, water-related adaptation and climate change mitigation, as one of the factors influencing sustainable economic growth.

The paper is focused on assessing the development of the economic account for agriculture of the Czech Republic in the selected reference period 1998–2003. There were evaluated effects of the particular types of the economic accounts. Methods of regression and correlation analysis and development trends were used for the mathematical-statistical analysis. The plant production output similarly as the output of agricultural industry show an increasing tendency since the period under investigation reaching a peak about 2001 and in next years decreasing in difference to the gross value added at basic prices and the net value added at basic prices which shows an increasing trend throughout the period. Both animal output and the agricultural services output show a decreasing trend reaching a minimum about 2002.
