This study aims to assess the 5S approach strategy for SME. 5S in simple terms is a Japanese technique consisting of five ‘S’ terms namely Seiri (sorting), Seiton (set in order), Seiso (shine), Seiketsu (standardize) and Shitsuke (sustain) which is always applied to manage the workplace. In this research, a case study will be steered at the packaging section of Fatt Choi Sdn Bhd Company located in Sabah, Malaysia to gather data for analysis. This paper targets the wastes observed in the packaging section of Fatt Choi Company and systematic elimination of them through 5 stages of 5S. Low space utilization, presence of unnecessary items, lack of proper cleaning schedule, obsolete work rules are the major wastes observed in the workplace. Through the implementation of various steps of 5S, the targeted wastes are eliminated, and better space utilization is achieved. The objectives of this paper are to assess the level of understanding for workers to encounter and adapting 5S systems which would enhance their performance, to evaluate the acceptance rate for employees to implement 5S in their work area as well as to relate the effectiveness of the 5S system in improving the worker performance and reducing unwanted waste in the industry. The researcher is able to assist with the implementation of 5S practices in the SMEs which could benefit their organization from the 5S systems, as well as the problem faced in implementation, factors of implementation and benefits experienced after the adoption of 5S lean manufacturing tools were being identified and evaluated. The results reveal that before the implementation of 5S, the survey scores varies from very poor to satisfactory( scoring from 1-3) related to the level of understanding for workers to encounter and adapting 5S systems, the acceptance rate for employees to implement 5S in their work area as well as the effectiveness of the 5S system in improving the worker performance and reducing unwanted waste in the industry but after the implementation of 5S the scores had changed from good to very good (scoring from 3-5). Survey results show a clear change can be seen before and after the implementation of 5S. The result gets positive result from the survey done by the employees after the implementation of 5S in their working area. Employees are more contented with their work environment after the implementation of 5S. This is due to the cleanliness of their workplace is maintained every day, all items and tools are adequately arranged, and they can finish their work without any delay resulting from time waste searching for tools.

This research attempts to test the level of understanding of using website as a marketing media for the agents of SME’s by employing 65 SME’s agents. They have been legalized and have joined the training of website operating in 2016 and 2017. The sample consists of 25 agents of SME’S from Banguntapan and 44 agents from Imogiri. The hypothesis is related to the existence of difference on understanding SME’s website after and before conducting the training of website operating. Based on the analysis of Paired Sample Test by comparing the respond of SME’s agents before and after the training of website operating, it shows that t value -9,282 by 0, 000 significance. It reveals that the training to increase the level of understanding of using website was effectively resulted. It comes to the fact that this activity can increase the selling percentage. The item of new website is expected to be beneficial to increase product selling effectively which has been conducted by SME’S agents.

The 5's technique is an assemblage of working tools of lean manufacturing that organize, order, clean, standardize and continuous any workplace. This article exemplifies a case study on the implementation of the Lean 5's Technology in a micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME), so as to make it more efficient, effective and productive. Considering the working conditions, a 5's framework has been analyzed and implemented where a remarkable improvement was noticed in product quality, lead time as well as cost reduction. The personal study clearly exhibits that it is very essential for an organization to train its workers about 5's rules. In this article, an attempt has been made to identify various shortcomings and mitigate them. The proposed framework investigates the flaws in the manufacturing processes within the organization. Standard operating procedures have been developed and applied on the shop floor holistically and changes were recorded which validates the fact that 5S is a simple and powerful technique, used to eliminate the process wastes, errors and helps in the development of a formal workplace organization system for the company. Furthermore, various barriers faced during the implementation of 5S rules were identified and a through the technique of Interpretive Structural Modelling (ISM) a visual model was developed which showcased the various interrelationships existing between the said barriers

The authors researched an interesting example of the application of the Kaizen Blitz method to improving operations in a clean-room plant located in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN, USA, which is part of a division of a large, international medical products manufacturing company. Heart-lung devices used in open heart surgery are manufactured in the plant. Under pressure to reduce medical costs and having benchmark data from competitors, it was clear that operations involved in manufacturing the heart-lung devices had lead times that were too long, required far too much inventory, were too labor-intensive in spite of using several expensive automated procedures, and had comparatively low yield rates, resulting in far too much waste. The information and data gathered by the authors were organized into a case study that is suitable for teaching process improvement methods in a university course as well as for industry training. The case details the context in which the Kaizen Blitz method was used, how it was applied, documents before and after conditions with key performance statistics, as well as provides background information on the Kaizen Blitz method. Selected references and sources are also provided.

The paper intends to identify and suggest improvements in two areas crucial for implementing lean principles in an aluminum semi-permanent casting small to medium enterprise (SME). This paper builds an analytical model to measure production performance and presents a case study of an aluminum foundry. The case study reveals the use of two lean principles of bottleneck identification and lean buffering could allow for timely response to customer requirements. This paper helps in identifying areas for lean manufacturing tailored to the needs to foundry SMEs, in which the number of published studies is very limited.

The technological revolution 4.0 brings great opportunities, but also cybercrimes to economic sectors, especially to banks. Using secondary data and survey results of 305 bank clients, the main findings of this paper are: (i) there are several types of cybercrimes in the banking sector; (ii) Vietnam is one of the top countries worldwide having hackers and being attacked by hackers, especially the banking sector. Three most common attacks are skimming, hacking and phishing. Number of cybercrime attacks in Vietnam are increasing rapidly over years; (iii) Vietnamese customers are very vulnerable to cybercrime in banking, as more than 58% seem to hear about cybercrimes, and how banks provide services to let them know about their transactions. However, more than 50% do not have any deep knowledge or any measures for preventing cybercrime; (iii) Customers believe in banks, but do not think that banks can deal with cybercrime issues well. They still feel traditional transactions are more secure than e-transactions; (iv) the reasons for high cybercrimes come from commercial banks (low management and human capacity), supporting environment (inadequate), legal framework (not yet strong and strict enough on cybercrimes), and clients (low level of financial literacy). Therefore, several solutions should be carried out, from all stakeholders, for improving the cybersecurity in Vietnamese banks.
