Coconut is one type of versatile plant whose entire tree has many benefits for humans, from the roots, leaves, and fruit. Coconut shell is an endocarp of coconut fruit is a waste from coconut. Besides being used as a variety of household and handicrafts, it can also be used as a material for making pens. This study aims to determine the best design of coconut shell pens. The stages of product design as follows: identification of needs, problem analysis, project planning, product concept planning, product design, preparation of documents in the form of product images designed, and product manufacturing specifications. After product evaluation design has the highest score is obtained. So, the chosen concept will be further developed to become a pen that can compete in the market. The design result is a pen with circle-shaped aluminum body, dimensions 8 x 125 mm, using an ink tube with gel, removable front cover, end cover can be rotated and grip using a coconut shell.

Abstract In the industrial society, the concept of green product research is becoming prevalent in many manufacturing industries. The green technology is implemented to develop an environmentally green product that brought attention to a growing technological field as it attains sustainable growth in a market. The green process includes logistics, manufacturing, and product design to reach a high level of sustainability. The utilization of green technologies in manufacturing industries reduces the major effect of industrial outcomes on environment. The product manufactured in the electronic industries is rapidly utilized by more population. This paper deals with the research issue faced during product manufacturing in electronic industries. Initially, the issues encountered during product development are air pollution, solid waste, and water pollution. The product is enriched with the characteristic features such as an increase in efficiency, reduction in toxic content, and must be eco-friendly. The developed green product should satisfy environmental standards. Environmental Conscious Manufacturing (ECM) accountability to satisfy the government rules and regulations for product development in the manufacturing industry and also deals with the customer’s expectation. The eco-friendly product includes eco-design, recycling, clean production, low cost, and reclamation of products. The eco-design is responsible for improving the environmental outcomes and also reliable for a reduction in long-term cost. The green product design and manufacturing focus mainly on energy conservation and the development of a product with less wastage. The research on green product manufacturing is mainly to save the environment by reducing carbon foot print and to make the product in less cost. The main consequence faced during the development of the green product is destroying the environment by utilizing natural resources. Thus, in this paper, the issues faced during the green product design and manufacturing of the electronic manufacturing industry are discussed.

In this paper, an intuitive interface of synthesized industrial design and engineering analysis of multi-material product is proposed. In a product design cycle, designers not only need to determine the geometry of a design, but also need to verify the design functions. Besides the concerns of function and geometry, other requirements like ergonomics, aesthetics, and types of visible surfaces also need to be considered. All these concerns are considered in this research through an investigation into multi-material product design. Multi-material product manufacturing processes allow designers to select different materials for different portions of objects in order to improve material-function compatibility for the overall object. Based on a haptic shape modeling system, a permutation method for multi-material product design is developed. A volumetric FEM-based function evaluation method is adopted for multi-material product analysis with the assumption of small displacements. The design and analysis are conducted on the same platform which is enhanced with a haptic device that can provide an intuitive correlation between the applied force and incurred displacement. The methodology is presented through a case study: the design of a toothbrush.

Additive Manufacturing (AM) is the digital manufacturing technology by which products are fabricated directly from computer models by selectively curing, depositing or consolidating materials in successive layers. The technology has provided an opportunity to rethink the methods of product design to maximize the product performance through the synthesis of material compositions, structure, and sizes. This overview is created to relate the unique capabilities of AM technologies and discuss the methods of product design. Finally, the current problems and difficulties in this field are discussed in this paper, and this paper proposes the development direction of the product design for additive manufacturing in the future.

AbstractBibliocrime is caused by library user activities that can damage and harm the activities in the library. In order to reduce losses caused by Bibliocrime actions, prevention is carried out in order to improve the quality of services in the library and to reduce the number of damaged collections. One of them is by giving information and understanding to users that bibliocrime is included in acts of crime that can harm the library and other users. Therefore, the right tools are needed as a medium of information about Bibliocrime. Booklet as one of the information media is very useful to facilitate the delivery of information to users, with the booklet making it easier for users to understand what forms of crime should be avoided by users in the library, as well as what disadvantages caused by Bibliocrime activities and how how to prevent Bibliocrime actions. Booklets also facilitate librarians in delivering information, so librarians do not need to convey information directly because the booklet is an intermediary media in delivering information from librarians to users. Making booklets, namely: (1) needs analysis; (2) product design; (3)product manufacturing; booklet product manufacturing process is carried out.(4) product trial results; carried out to find out how the responses of librarians and librarians to the information contained in the booklet. Keywords: Bibliocrime, Booklet, Library
