The review focuses on the role of crystals in biological fluids (blood, plasma) of human body. A comparison of crystal formation in living and technical environments was carried out. The authors determine the importance of natural biological nanotechnologies in the relationship of the structures of cells, tissues, organs. They demonstrate the modulating influence of various external factors on thesiographic picture of biological fluids. The significance of nanocrystalline structures in the creation of new materials for medicine is identified in the study. The authors offer explanations of the peculiarities of crystallization in living organisms. The authors found a need for the development of the theory of cluster formation of crystals of multi-component solutions. They gave a description of the process of stone formation, including Tartar, from the standpoint of bio-crystallization and fractal views, a state of stability and instability of stationary states of thesiograms. The synergistic approaches to the problem, including the significance of the theory of solitons, were identified. It was shown that thesiography can be used in the development of new technologies to obtain solids from liquids.

A model for the effect of child-parent relationships on later adult marital quality was tested by questionnaire in 124 general practice patients. Recollections of parental care and overprotection measured by the PBI correlated significantly with Locke- Wallace measures of marital quality primarily in females. Correlations were larger in a homogeneous group where previous marriages and emotional illness were eliminated, and in those who had experienced, childhood separations from parents. The results are consistent with an interactive model where the quality of childhood experience determines the quality of adult marriages primarily when separation experiences have been present.

The main aim of this investigation is to determine whether patients with psychiatric illness have more somatic illness than those who are psychiatrically well, and conversely, whether those who have more than an average amount of physical sickness also suffer from an excess of psychiatric disability. A subsidiary purpose is to determine how much “psychosomatic” illness occurs in association with physical and with mental illness.

The SIMPLE STEPS (McGlothlin, 2008) model of suicide assessment provides clinicians with a comprehensive mnemonic framework for assessing suicide lethality. It provides a broader context to assess suicide compared to other mnemonic devices with similar intent (i.e., PLAID, PIMP, IS PATH WARM, etc.) In this article, six years of data (N = 13,423 records of individual callers to a suicide prevention hotline) were analyzed. Via regression analysis, the researchers examined the relationship of the SIMPLE STEPS variables to caller's suicide lethality. It was found that all variables of the SIMPLE STEPS model predicted suicide lethality. Furthermore, this article depicts one of the few evidence-based studies for using a mnemonic device in practice. The results of this study have implications for the general practice of assessing suicidal clients with mnemonic devices and the general treatment of suicidal clients.
