Information and Communication Technology has changed instructional conveyance. Advancement recorded in information assembling, teaching, and learning collection has given teachers new devices to work with, subsequently the upheaval in the field of training. This study examined computer literacy among Science, Technology, and Mathematics (STM) instructors in Colleges of Education. Discoveries show that the degree of computer proficiency among STM instructors is low. The explanation behind this incorporates few available skillful instructors, insufficient ICT tools in schools, computer phobia, access to Personal Computers (PCs)/PC labs, and absence of ICT devices for STM training. Proposals were anyway made that will help improve the degree of proficiency among STM instructors.

The purpose of online learning is for learners to be able to access their learning material remotely and teachers to be able to facilitate learning and teaching with the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in education. The research reported in this chapter introduced the limited use of ICT tools and resources for teaching and learning at a primary school based in Tsakane township and explored the policy and practice challenges for equality in terms of community engagement. The chapter will introduce the purpose of the research, as well as the objectives and research questions, and will then proceed to provide background in terms of a detailed literature review. This chapter will proceed to identify limitations and assumptions, outline the problem statement, as well as the research methodology used in the study, together with a discussion of the results collected towards solutions.

In the last few years, the introduction and use of Information and Communication Technology (onwards ICT) in the classroom has been gradually increased, especially in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (onwards STEM) areas. However, the use of ICT technology within the music classroom seems to have stalled in most cases, being relegated to making sound recordings and listening to music fragments. Thanks to the rise of the Maker movement, more and more teachers are interested in introducing new types of ICT in the classroom. In our case, we will show how we developed “The Musical Stairs” to teach the musical concept of pitch, through the creation of a project based in Arduino.

The purpose of the study was to examine demographic characteristics of tutors on the integration of information and communication technology in teaching and learning in the Colleges of Education in Ghana. The descriptive survey design was used to conduct the study. The purposive sampling technique was used in the selection process. The sample size was 120 tutors. Independent sample t-test and One-way ANOVA were used to analyze the data. The findings showed that there is a significant difference between male and female tutors in their use of ICTs in teaching and learning in the public Colleges of Education in Ghana. The findings revealed that there is no significant difference between tutors with different age and their integration of ICT in teaching and learning. The findings again, indicated that there is no significant difference between the level of academic qualification and the use of ICTs among tutors. The results revealed that there is a significant difference between the use of ICTs among tutors based on their teaching experience. The study recommended that female tutors who could not effectively integrate ICT into the teaching and learning should be identified and supported to integrate ICT into the teaching of the subject. The study recommended that appropriate pedagogical models suitable for the integration of ICTs in teaching and learning should be developed by curriculum designers to assist tutors in their urge to employ them in the teaching and learning process. The study again, recommended that management of the public Colleges of Education in Ghana should seek sponsorship from internet service providers in Ghana to provide free or affordable and reliable internet connectivity in the colleges to facilitate effective use of ICTs in the teaching and learning in the Colleges of Education.

Article visualizations:

Emergence and integration of information and communication technology (ICT) in the global education system has significantly enhanced intelligible teaching and learning, particularly in the developing countries. Among the developing countries, Nigeria has equally integrated ICT in its educational system. While the information driven technology has little or no integration in the lower level of education, it is intensively integrated in the higher education system. Although the Nigerian education system lacks integration of robust ICT tools to support virtual and in learning, the installed basic ICT tools such as computers, multimedia projectors, process, and internet have greatly changed the face of the country's educational administration and teaching and learning from the traditional practice. Effective and efficient use of ICT are however affected by extrinsic and intrinsic barriers. The need to strengthen the ICT framework and deployment for a more robust teaching and learning process in the country's education system is emphasized.

But the question arises whether the students, especially of secondary grade, are using these ICT tools effectively? To find out, a study was carried out in Indore city, India. The study was a descriptive type with the sample size of 200 students of different secondary schools. The study was focused on the availability of ICT tools and its use by students other than school. A questionnaire is designed to collect the data. The study used various statistical techniques to analyze the data. Z-test, were used. this research proposal, have outlined the need for research and development initiative in the area of Utilization of Information and Communication Technology in Education. This need is consistent with growing concern by all stakeholders in education that the condition of ICT in teaching and learning is internationally unacceptable. However, despite concerted efforts by the FGN/MDGs and other non-governmental organizations through re-training and training the trainers of ICT and its uses by teachers in education, we have not seen significant improvement in the area of Information and Communication Technology teaching and learning, by our teachers in Colleges of Education. This lack of noticeable improvement might be due to the lack of clear understanding of the current status of our teacher's knowledge and Technological Pedagogical knowledge content on one hand, and the lack of access and technical support by our institutions on the other hand before designing such interventions. Therefore, the aim of this research project is to collect and analyze baseline data that would guide us and others in the subsequent design of interventions for improving the role-playing ground of lecturers on the use of ICT facilities in the teaching process in Colleges of Education of the North Eastern States. In this research proposal, we have outlined the need for research and development initiative in the area of Utilization of Information and Communication Technology in Education. This need is consistent with growing concern by all stakeholders in education that the condition of ICT in teaching and learning is internationally unacceptable. In the last few decades, Information Technology has transformed the entire world into a village, known as Global Village, as proposed by Marshal McLuhan. ICT has increased its influence in every field like the education sector, defense sector, technology etc. In the 21st century, information and communication technology (ICT) has become an important and integral part of most educational organizations throughout the world.. The use of ICT in classroom teaching and learning processes has become indispensable as it gives teachers and learners the opportunity to operate, store, control and retrieve data in addition to promoting self-regulated and active learning. (Ali, Haolader & Muhammad, 2013) Today we are dependent on technology and the role of ICT is increasing day by day and is believed to be a new normal. Keeping that in view, the present paper attempts to examine the relationship between information and communication technologies (ICT) and student learning. This conceptual paper is based on secondary information collected from different sources such as books, journal articles, newspapers, reports of various government organizations, non-governmental organizations and soon.
