Based on the results of studies and research by the author above, it can beconcluded that the environment has an important role in learning Indonesian.Environmental materials can help students' skills and can foster interest and enthusiasmin learning Indonesian. Based on the results of studies and research conducted by the author, it can be concluded that environmental material has an important role and is also related to Indonesian language learning to motivate students. Environmental insight education can be integrated into Indonesian subjects and subjects to provide comprehensive knowledge and skills in protecting the environment. Environmental material is material that is closely related to everyday life. Therefore, with environmental material the teacher can easily find relevant examples to make students understand more about the material provided, so that it can help teachers imply Indonesian language material in schools. Throughout the 20 years of its existence the Council for Cultural Co-operation of the Council of Europe has promoted language learning as a means to the freer movement of people and ideas. Stress has been laid on interpersonal communication and learner-centred educational structures and processes. Planning involves specification of objectives appropriate to learner needs and the realities of the educational situation. An account is given of the recent work of Modern Languages Project no. 4 and the prospects for the forthcoming Project no. 12, which will focus on teacher training in respect of attitudes, knowledge and skills, both linguistic and educational.
