The environment can be used as a learning resource, including in learning Indonesian. Therefore, linking environmental materials with Indonesian language learning will have a positive impact on students, making it easier for students to apply Indonesian language learning obtained at school in everyday life. At this time, the application of environmental materials in Indonesian language learning is still very low. Therefore, the teacher's role in connecting Indonesian language learning with environmental materials is very important.

Apathy, a common neuropsychiatric symptom associated with dementia, has a strong impact on patients’ and caregivers’ quality of life. However, it is still poorly understood and hard to define. The main objective of the ECOCAPTURE programme is to define a behavioural signature of apathy using an ecological approach. Within this program, ECOCAPTURE@HOME is an observational study which aims to validate a method based on new technologies for the remote monitoring of apathy in real life. For this study, we plan to recruit 60 couples: 20 patient-caregiver dyads in which patients suffer from behavioral variant Fronto-Temporal Dementia, 20 patient-caregiver dyads in which patients suffer from Alzheimer Disease and 20 healthy control couples. These dyads will be followed for 28 consecutive days via multi-sensor bracelets collecting passive data (acceleration, electrodermal activity, blood volume pulse). Active data will also be collected by questionnaires on a smartphone application. Using a pool of metrics extracted from these passive and active data, we will validate a measurement model for three behavioural markers of apathy (i.e., daytime activity, quality of sleep, and emotional arousal). The final purpose is to facilitate the follow-up and precise diagnosis of apathy, towards a personalised treatment of this condition within everyday life.

This article presents the results of a qualitative research which looks into the field of literature in EFL. Seventh grade students of a private school in Bogota took part in the research. Data was collected by means of audio recordings of small group discussions, teacher´s journal, and responses to literature logs. The results show that the connections that EFL learners make with literary texts enrich their interpretations, analysis and value judgments of experiences and real life events. Furthermore, critical thinking skills are potentiated. In addition to this, literary texts bring up appealing and meaningful topics in the classroomenhancing students´ motivation and willingness to use the target language.

Learning new vocabulary compromises a significant factor for success within language learning since without the adequate knowledge of words and their meaning, learners are not able to use the target language efficiently. Moreover, vocabulary tends to be forgotten if it is not acquired and used through the right methods that will provide learners with language inputs in genuine target language environment. In this regard, the increasing access to different multimedia and technology resources facilitate spontaneous vocabulary acquisition for the contemporary age learners. In particular, movies with subtitles can be a great tool in bringing students closer to authentic real life communication vocabulary. As a result, previous studies have found out several benefits of using subtitled movies by confirming that subtitles indeed improve vocabulary development.

The Language Zone at the University of Leeds, UK, is well established as a hub for language learners across the campus, both those on language courses and those studying languages independently for a variety of reasons. It has been operating entirely online since March 2020 and will do so until the campus fully re-opens. This written account gives a brief overview of the changes made to the Language Zone’s services and provision of learning materials in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, including how the team members’ roles were adapted to ensure staff skills were taken into account. In addition to showing how services were maintained when the campus was closed at short notice and teaching was moved online until further notice, the study outlines how the Language Zone developed a platform to support the 2020 summer pre-sessional programmes to be delivered completely online. Finally, reflecting on the recent achievements and considering how to support students in the future, it aims to inspire other self-access centres to think about what they can do to develop their services in response to the crisis and beyond.

Learning materials that are still abstract is one of the obstacles for teachers in understanding students. Specific thematic learning, it is necessary learning that not only keeps students active in learning activities, but also students can understand the intent and purpose of the theme they are learning, the students' understanding can be improved through the model Multisensory learning.Multisensory learning is basically a learning that involves a variety of sensory stimuli including hearing, sight, touch, and sometimes also smell and taste. Multisensory learning models involve a variety of visual aids including IT-based media in support of its application process. The use of visual images, interactive video that is broadcast through the projector can certainly stimulate the student's sensory to the material being studied. Multisensory learning in practice is a learning that for learning materials that are abstract into concrete material. Therefore, the application of multisensory learning needs to involve a variety of critical inquiry activities conducted by students on the various realities of everyday life. for example, when teaching science on food chains, this material will be more easily understood by the child if the child is invited to directly watch the process of occurrence of the food chain in everyday life or at least watch the video showing the concept of the chain of food. The linkage between the multisensory learning model and the thematic learning lies in the process of implementation. The combination of sensory devices in multisensory learning is appropriate when applied to thematic learning in recognizing the material attributed to real-life everyday. Thematic learning uses many teaching aids and sometimes uses the senses that students have.
