In the present paper, we present a detailed description of the classifier systems of five Indian languages-- Mizo, Galo, Tagin (all belongs to the Tibeto-Burman family), Assamese (Indo-Aryan) and Malto (Dravidian). It is observed that the classifiers are a predominant feature in the Tibeto-Burman and we observe an extensive classifier system in these languages. There is no equivalent classifier system in other language families. However in the languages belonging to Eastern India, irrespective of the family, there is some sort of classifier system. Thus classifiers seem to be an areal feature in most of the Eastern and whole of the North-Eastern India. The purpose of the paper is to study if there is some semantic similarity among the classifier systems across language families in this area and thus to see if it is indeed an areal feature. It is just a preliminary description of an ongoing research in which we intend to study many more languages and include languages from the Austro-Asiatic family (such as Khasi and Munda languages spoken in Jharkhand) as well.

Background: Data on the prevalence of hypovitaminosis D in peri and post menopausal tribal multiethnic Indians women living in the North Eastern part of the country are limited. Aim: To evaluate the vitamin D(VD) level in North Eastern multiethnic tribal perimenopausal and postmenopausal women Indian women. Material and Method: This prospective study was conducted at a tertiary care centre from 2018 to2019in North Eastern India Catering multiethnic tribal population. A total of498women above 40 years of age who attended gynae opd for various reasons were included in the study Women were advised to give 3 cc blood samples. The serum VD was estimated by Beckman Coulten Unicel DXI immunoassay system using the principle of chemiluminescence, Incidence of Vitamin D deficiency (VDD) and insufficiency (VDI) calculated. VDD was defined as 25(OH) D level in blood<20ng/ml and insufficiency of VD was defined as 25(OH) D levels <30ng/ml/. Result: In present study mean age was 46.78±6.914 years. 50.40%women were vitamin D deficient. 37.95% women were vitamin D insufficient. Mean parity was 3.94±9.23 and mean value of vit d was 21.36±9.23. Conclusion: Hypovitaminosis D is highly prevalent among perimenopausal and post menopausal women in the North eastern part of India. The need for improving the levels of vitamin D among this group of population is both vital and urgent.

Octomagelona bizkaiensis (Annelida: Polychaeta), a new genus and species of the family Magelonidae is described from the north-eastern Atlantic. The specimens were collected from the Capbreton Canyon, Bay of Biscay, at a depth of 1000–1040 m. The new genus and species differs from all known genera and species of the family Magelonidae by the presence of eight instead of nine thoracic chaetigers.

A new species of the family Planorbidae is described from the land thermal spring Khakusy, on the north-eastern shore of Lake Baikal. The description of Gyraulustakhteevi sp. n. includes morphological characters and gene sequences (COI of mtDNA) for the species separation from sister taxon Gyraulusacronicus (A. Férussac, 1807) collected from the small Krestovka River in-flowing into the south-western part of the Lake. The new species differs from G.acronicus in small shell size of adults, having smaller number of prostate folds (maximal up to 26 in G.takhteevi n. sp. vs. 40 in G.acronicus), a short preputium (approximately twice shorter than the phallotheca), and an elongated bursa copulatrix. The population of Gyraulustakhteevi sp. n. consists of two co-existent morphs: one of them has a narrow shell spire and the second is characterized by wide spire similar to the shell of G.acronicus. One of the two revealed haplotypes of the new species includes both morphs, while the second consists of snails with wide spired shells.

In this study, Bomolochus unicirrus Brian, 1902, a species of parasitic copepod belonging to the family Bomolochidae (Claus, 1875), was reported for the first time from the north-eastern Mediterranean waters off the Turkish coast. Parasites were collected from the gill filaments of the European barracuda, Sphyraena sphyraena(L.)captured by trawling in Iskenderun Bay, Turkey. The morphological features of B. unicirrus were Redescribed and illustrated based on the newly collected material. Key diagnostic characters and newly observed details in some structures are highlighted and supported by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Differences and simply overlooked details in previous descriptions of B. unicirrus, are discussed in detail. In addition, morphological comparisons between presently reported species and the other species of the genus Bomolochus Nordmann, 1832 were also presented.

A new species of vesicomyid bivalve (Isorropodon nyeggaensis sp. nov.) is described based on shell morphology, from the Nyegga cold methane seep area on the Norwegian continental margin. This is the first description of vesicomyids from the Norwegian Sea and the northernmost record of recent representatives of the family Vesicomyidae. A dispersion of the genus into the Norwegian Sea basin from the north-eastern Atlantic is suggested. A brief description of other macrofauna from methane seep sites at Nyegga is also given.

The genus Rohdea Roth (1821: 196) belonging to the family Asparagaceae (APG 2009) comprises 14 species and is distributed in South East Asia (Tanaka 2003, Averyanov et al. 2014, Govaerts 2016). In India, the genus includes 4 species namely R. delavayi (Franchet 1896: 40) Tanaka (2003: 331), R. eucomoides (Baker 1875: 581) Tanaka (2003: 332), R. nepalensis (Rafinesque 1838: 15) Tanaka (2010: 23) and R. wattii (Clarke 1889: 78) Yamashita & Tamura (2004: 369) (Hooker 1894, Liang & Tamura 2000).
