The main intention of this manuscript is to fill this gap by evaluating the impacts of artificial intelligence on the development of smart tourism. The study will start with discussing previous literature on smart tourism and contributions of artificial intelligence on the development of tourism based on earlier academic findings and practical implications. For methodology, the paper will follow literature review as a guideline and the findings will be critically evaluated. Besides that, the study will suggest a model whereby the impact of artificial intelligence on smart tourism will be quantitatively analyzed. In the suggested model, related economic, technological, social and environmental variables including total revenue created by smart tourism using artificial intelligence, contributions of technological improvement, the degree of social inclusion to tourism activities for disadvantaged individuals (such as elderly, people with disabilities, pregnant women etc.) with respect to the artificial intelligence applications, and the degree of environmental degradation parallel to the shift to smart tourism.

PurposeTo date the vast majority of sponsorship research has focused on the perspective of sponsors. The purpose of this paper is to use this research to identify factors that sponsored institutions and organizations (sponsees) should be cognizant of before entering into a sponsorship arrangement, and to propose a research agenda based on these factors.Design/methodology/approachThe authors leverage sponsorship research that has been published in business journals with an impact factor above 0.5 (Reuters, 2015).FindingsThis paper argues that sponsees should be aware of the benefits that sponsorship brings to sponsors so that they can better appeal to potential sponsors. A sponsee also needs to be aware of the impact a sponsorship partnership may have on its own brand, image, and equity.Research limitations/implicationsThis is a conceptual paper grounded in the literature that aims to stimulate further research in the domain of sponsorship and provide deeper understanding for sponsees. Empirical research addressing the research questions posed is required.Practical implicationsIn a holistic manner, this literature review offers insights into factors that sponsees should consider before entering a sponsorship relationship.Originality/valuePrevious research in the sponsorship domain has focused primarily on dyadic sponsors. This paper considers sponsorship from the sponsee’s perspective.

PurposeThis study explores the variables that drive the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the competitiveness of a tourism firm. The relationship between the variables is established using the modified total interpretive structural modelling (m-TISM) methodology. The factors are identified through literature review and expert opinion. This study investigates the hierarchical relationship between these variables.Design/methodology/approachThe modified total interpretive structural modelling (m-TISM) method is used to develop a hierarchical interrelationship among variables that display direct and indirect impact. The competitiveness of a tourism firm is measured by investigating the effect of variables on the firm's financial performance.FindingsThe study identifies ten key factors essential for analysing the impact of AI on a firm's competitiveness. The m-TISM methodology gave us the hierarchical relationship between the factors and their interpretation. A theoretical TISM model has been constructed based on the hierarchy and relationship of the elements. The elements that fall in Level V are “AI Skilled Workforce”, “Infrastructure” and “Policies and Regulations”. Level IV includes the elements “AI Readiness”, “AI-Enabled Technologies” and “Digital Platforms”. Elements that fall under Level III are “Productivity” and “AI Innovation”. Level II and Level I comprise “Tourist Satisfaction” and “Financial Performance”, respectively. The levels indicate the elements' hierarchical level, with Level I the highest and Level V the lowest.Research limitations/implicationsTourism and AI scholars can analyse the given variables by including the transitive links and incorporate new variables depending upon future research. The m-TISM model constructed from literature review and expert opinion can act as a theoretical base for future studies to be conducted by researchers.Practical implicationsManagement/Practitioners can focus on the available characteristics and capitalise on them while working on the factors lacking in their organisation to enhance their competitiveness. Entrepreneurs starting their own business can utilise the elements in understanding the ecosystem of strengthening a firm's competitiveness. They can work to improve on the aspects which are crucial and trigger the impact on competitiveness. The government and management can devise policies and strategies that encompass the essential factors that positively impact the competitiveness of the firms. The approach can then be looked at with a holistic approach to cater to the other related components of the tourism industry.Originality/valueThis study is the first of its kind to use the modified TISM methodology to understand the impact of AI on the competitiveness of tourism firms.

PurposeThis paper presents a systematic literature review, including content and bibliometric analyses, of the impact of blockchain technology (BT) in auditing, to identify trends, research areas and construct an agenda for future research.Design/methodology/approachThe authors include studies from 2010 to 2020 in their structured literature review (SLR), using accounting journals on the Scopus database, which yielded 40 articles with blockchain and auditing at its core.FindingsOne of the contributions of the authors’ analyses is to group the prior research, and therefore also the agenda for future research, into three main research areas: (1) Blockchain as a tool for auditing professionals to improve business information systems to save time and prevent fraud; (2) Smart contracts enabling Audit 4.0 efficiency, reporting, disclosure and transparency; (3) Cryptocurrency and initial coin offerings (ICOs) as a springboard for corporate governance and new venture financing. The authors’ findings have several important implications for practice and theory.Practical implicationsThe results of this study emphasise that (1) the disruption of blockchain in auditing is in a nascent phase and there is a need for compelling empirical studies and potential for the involvement of practitioners; (2) there may be a need to reconsider audit procedures especially suited for digitalisation and BT adoption; (3) standards, guidelines and training are required to pivot towards and confront the challenge BT will represent for auditing; and (4) there are two sides to the BT coin for auditing, enthusiasm about the potential and risk upon implementation. These practical implications can also be seen as a template for future research in a quest to align theory and practice.Originality/valueThe authors’ SLR facilitates the identification of research areas and implications, forming a useful baseline for practitioners, professionals and academics, as they draft the state of the art on the disruption of blockchain in auditing, highlighting how BT is changing auditing activities and traditions.

Diverse forms of artificial intelligence (AI in further text) are at the forefront of triggering digital security innovations, based on the threats that are arising in this post COVID world. On the one hand, companies are experiencing difficulty in dealing with security challenges with regard to a variety of issues ranging from system openness, decision making, quality control and web domain, just to mention a few. On the other hand, in the last decade, research has focused on security capabilities based on tools such as platform complacency, intelligent trees, modeling methods and outage management systems, in an effort to understanding the interplay between AI and those issues. The dependence on the emergence of AI in running industries and shaping the education, transports and health sectors is now well known in literature. AI is increasingly employed in managing data security across economic sectors. Thus, a literature review of AI and system secu-rity within the current digital society is opportune. This paper aims at identifying research trends in the field through a Systematic Bibliometric Literature Review (LRSB) of research on AI and system security. The review entails 77 articles published in Scopus® database, presenting up-to-date knowledge on the topic. The LRSB results were synthesized across current research subthemes. Findings are presented. The originality of the paper relies on its LRSB method, together with extant review of articles that have not been categorized so far. Implications for future re-search are suggested.

This paper aim is to review the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) in the Human Resources Management (HRM) recruitment processes. A systematic review was adopted in which academic papers, magazine articles as well as high rated websites with related fields were checked. The findings of this study should contribute to the general understanding of the impact of AI on the HRM recruitment process. It was impossible to track and cover all topics related to the subject. However, the research methodology used seems to be reasonable and acceptable as it covers a good number of articles which are related to the core subject area. The results and findings were almost clear that using AI is advantages in the area of recruitment as technology can serve best in this area. Moreover, time, efforts, and boring daily tasks are transformed to be computerized which makes a good space for humans to focus on more important subjects related to boosting performance and development. Acquiring automation and cognitive insights as well as cognitive engagement in the recruitment process would make it possible for systems to work similarly to the human brain in terms of data analysis and the ability to build an effective systematic engagement to process the data in an unbiased, efficient and fast way.

Purpose This paper aims to explore two research questions. The first focuses on the main methodological characteristics of previous studies in the field of price and revenue research in terms of commercial peer-to-peer accommodation platforms (P2P APs). The second compares the 33 articles and identifies the convergent and divergent findings. The literature review outlines some future research avenues. Design/methodology/approach This paper is a literature review that explore the price and revenue determinants in the field of P2P APs (such as Airbnb). The methodology shows how the sample was defined and is based on three steps: selection of papers, sample selection, and coding. The research was carried out in March 2020 and generated an initial sample composed of roughly 3,000 articles. A two-stage inclusion/exclusion process was applied to select the final sample, which includes 33 articles. Findings The empirical findings report the main antecedents of price and revenue as well as the methodological domains of the analyzed papers. Focusing on determinants, six blocks of variables were identified. The listing variables (48%), host characteristics (18%), location (12%), guest review (11%), destination characteristics (11%) and external comparison (1%). For each block, convergent and divergent findings are illustrated. Research limitations/implications The main limitations of this study relate to the criteria used in selecting the sample and the manual coding activity. This last decision (manual coding activity) was based on the limited number of papers available and the wide spectrum of variables used. Practical implications The practical implications are many, and they include a greater awareness of the variables that influence price and revenue as well as the impact that these variables could have on rates. Furthermore, managers interested in analyzing specific topics or variables can find analytical support in the information reported in the appendices. Originality/value The evidence provided is useful both for scholars considering further research in this field and for practitioners seeking to define pricing policies. Some future research avenues have been outlined, including new topics for development and methodological advancements.

Healthcare has come a long way with the technological upgrades that it has witnessed and embraced. Technological disrupters like automation, big data, cloud, AI, IOT, have contributed in making the healthcare domain more enhanced and efficient. In the healthcare when we focus more on hospital related services, we see that the changes have started to reflect. Considering Nursing as one of the major services, this study attempts to understand the long ranging impact of AI and IOT on nursing specifically. Nursing as a choice of work has always been looked down upon by the society. The overall work environments, pay structures have also not been conducive for the work force. Being a crucial component of the healthcare domain, the impact of AI and IOT would be more pronounced and visible on nursing in the coming years. The paper attempts to find the gaps and areas of improvement in nursing to make it more efficient. Research Methods and Approach: The paper finds relevant attributes which impact the performance of the nurses. The attributes are derived using mixed method of research and triangulation. This is planned by conducting the systematic literature review followed first by qualitative research methodology based semi structured interviews of patients and their relatives and later by interviewing the doctors and nurses, hospital management. A Systematic literature review of minimum 75 to 100 research papers from the following databases Pubmed, Ieee, ACM, Science Direct and Google Scholar was planned. For the interviews it was decided to conduct a heterogeneous quota sampling for interviewing the patients, their relatives and doctors and nurses, hospital management. Purpose of the Study: Artificial intelligence and Internet-of-Things are the most path breaking techniques today69. The paper integrates these in the hospital domain focussing only “nursing” as service. It answers the crucial research questions like ‘If AI and IOT is used as a methodology in ”nursing Services” ,visualizing the impact of AI enabled Bots in nursing, pros and cons of introducing the AI technology intervention in Nursing and to conceptualize a model for the same.

Based on an extensive literature review of the festival experience, this study proposes that the experiences of festivalgoers can be classified into five main attributes, namely Escape, Playfulness, Togetherness, Sacredness, and Placeness. A survey of 450 South Koreans who had participated in some type of domestic festival in the past year statistically validated these attributes and explored the impact of each on the perceived value, satisfaction, and behavioral intentions of festivalgoers. The study shows that those Koreans who experienced Playfulness, Sacredness, and Placeness at a festival tended to perceive the festival as more valuable than those who experienced Escape and Togetherness, which were factors that did not significantly affect the perceived value of the festival. This study illuminates the nature of festival attributes and the particular characteristics most important to Korean festivalgoers, both of which provide theoretical and practical implications for tourism researchers and festival organizers.
